After 3 years of being in this sub, I never thought about minecraft and never even heard about it. Yesterday I opened the whole minecraft world by watching 2 very informative videos. Now I'm minecraft expert too! :) And I still have many questions. I've found new friend who're playing minecraft and yesterday we just had a conversation on what would we do if we would create Bitcoin server. I never played Maincraft yet and really bad at games. But as a programmer I wrote my own games. So I thought maybe I can bring some useful ideas on how to make some fun bitcoin implementations into minecraft.

A little background

1. If you're in bitcoin and you don't know what is a concensus algorithm OR never watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7998qfjgk its totally lame. Dude, you should do it now. The whole thing about Bitcoin is a concensus algorithm, without concensus algorithm Bitcoin with all its cryptography, all its ledgers, all its permission-less ECDSA transactions is just not interesting.

2. If you know what consensus algorithm is, but think that minecraft is a game for kids or nerds, and not serious at all, probably you're loser too. Because without right connections in minecraft audience bitcoin won't survive or it will take two full lifespans and not less than 5 decades to make it, I know it for sure from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3k8uez/youth_are_the_killer_app_of_bitcoin/?ref=search_posts Now problem is that this "youth" don't have enough causes to learn consensus mechanisms and this post is solely made with purpose to brainstorm what could be a "minecraft killer app", and don't tell me that it already exists in a form of BitQuest server, because their best idea is just being another faucet (and community too, their server and community is great! just a common meeting place for minecraft for those people who need to choose their permanent place to play)

One of my idea for minecraft is building systems like this:

• Also I recommend learning about command blocks in minecraft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5ww0c8wxzs#t=30 - command blocks are a programmable item in minecraft which can be programmed by command line. You can build complex levels using command blocks.

Which you can do even without installing any game modifications. This computer is too complicated and too slow, and maps where you can touch this computer is not very popular in minecraft, because youth doesn't knows what to do with it. But the complexity of it gives you rough idea about how kind of complicated / awesome ideas/maps/games can be built using regular minecraft functionality.

We could build a minecraft map with a very intense and addictive gaming process based upon blockchain systems. Such game could teach minecraft users about how consensus mechanisms in blockchain works. My idea might need more brainstorming, because as I said I never ever played minecraft myself. I want to build such levels in minecraft which could demonstrate how Contest in Proof-of-Work systems work, and how Consensus Mechanisms work, so here's my idea on how to do it:

2. We will need to isolate players either by distance (by building 2 or several underground mining cities - huge space deep underground with no way to reach other mining cities without digging to make some locations remote to simulate remoteness of Bitcoin users in a real world)

3. Users will be given very simple methods of building mining machines within game: the more mining machines user builds, the faster will be process of mining. I'm not talking about simulating the whole ECDSA/SHA-256 mining process, I'm talking about reinventing much more simpler item protocol based on what minecraft can do.

4. Users will create trains as the process of their work. They will attach some values to the trains crucial for survival of other mining cities.

5. There will be special sections between those cities which will play role of checking consensus rules. Perfectly it would be a programmed command blocks that automatically gonna check if players really done their work. If someone cheated, train is going to be returned with all values back to the mining city.

So basically I haven't thought out all the gaming details, but really look forward on developing this idea even further. Would be glad for any participation in a thought or creative process.
