It's nice to have a PM that doesn't look like a creepy perv when he smiles.

lets be real - Malcolm is the definition is a silver fox.

We should all vote for him next election, he is the best looking option. /s

This is want the Libs want. It's the same party, same policies, new face, and half of you fucks are falling for it. This sub was the last bastion of Australian intelligence.

Well I only know myself and personally I been 80% less embarrassed to be Australian since TA left.

And if changing the leader makes no difference then why was anyone upset when Rudd was removed.... same party, same policies...

Being ok with Malcolm Turnbull is saying "We didn't care what Tony Abbott was doing, we just didn't like how he was doing it. Detain refugees for an indefinite period of time, sure, but don't be so cocky about it. Hold back green energy and same-sex marriage, fine, but don't act so superior about it."

The leader of the party is just a PR guy and because Australians are fucking retarded we're going to be stuck with the government they deserve for another god-damned term.

We're not stupid... we're hopeful...

If nothing changes other than a new face, they will be dumped next election.
However you're self delusional if you think a Labor government would close Nauru and Manus Island and suddenly same-sex marriage would be legal.
Labor reopened Manus Island, Labor defeated same-sex marriage their last term... lets not pretend Bill Shorten will save us.

The leader isn't just a PR guy, the leader is the head of the executive, and the executive sets the direction the government.

If nothing changes other than a new face, they will be dumped next election.

Although just changing the leader put them from massive polling losses to massive wins.

Could be because Turnbull represents a promise by the liberal party, which they don't intend to deliver on (they didn't want him as leader for years, and only let him in to save their seats, with promises from him that he wouldn't actually implement the things which people like him for).

And the direction hasn't changed.. So we're left with nothing but a new PR guy.

Yeah, Labor is fucked too, but I'll take the lesser evil if I've got no other options.

He's been in power 3 weeks, you can't expect radical changes so quickly.

He hasn't even hinted at a change in direction or acknowledged that they need one. He's towing the same line. You shortsighted fucks are going to get us stuck with these dinosaurs for another term. At least he's handsome, right?

He is pretty handsome though.

And the direction hasn't changed..

Yet... Plus it's not just about policy, it's about about rhetoric, words have power.

Turnbull is a pragmatist, and he understands the party he now leads, given time he'll steer his own course and as the right of the party becomes more and more marginalized their influence will disappear and Turnbull will have a freer hand... or the next PM will (unfortunately) be Bill Shorten

Rhetoric is all it is. Yes, words have power, like the power to deceive and mislead.

I'd take Shorten over Turnbull.

You sound like one of those idiots who judges someones intelligence based entirely on whether they agree with you or not.

Enjoy another term of Liberal government, you deserve it.

[–]pulverise_your_nile 2ポイント3ポイント  (11子コメント)

Do we really need this post every time someone says anything bordering on positive about Turnbull??

This sub was the last bastion of Labor political partisanship and was so out of step with the rest of Australia. When the top 10 articles where different articles of the same negative LNP story and not one non political story would get through then you knew there was people devoting their life to making sure certain ideas/stories were swamping the subreddit.

Yes Abbott was a dick and deserved to be gone but really, Labor are not saints and the Liberals are not evil.

Did you insist on him calling you Mr Broadband Malc???

Well, Thor can crush the enemy. Mr Broadband crushes broadband dreams.

Why are people upvoting such utterly boring jokes?

It's not even a good dad joke, it's one of those terrible dad jokes that doesn't even elicit the groans we all love to make when hearing a good one.

[–]Dad_Jokes_Incoming 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

There are only two types of people in the world, those who can extrapolate from incomplete data and

Oh wow, that is one fast dad joke bot, I wonder if he will give another dad joke response... :D

Even though that was lame as fuck, it's nice to have a PM that at least somewhat understands how to relate to the people.

I'll take things that never happened for $400

I think it might have been a joke.
It's not a great joke granted, but better than Pacific islands disappearing under the ocean.
