I was so enlightened that I breathed out a huge cloud of vapor even though my vape was on the other side of the room

You vape, we get it.

I bought a cowboy hat and got some free beanies at a snowboard event recently. All of them are now fedoras. Fuck

Have you heard SAW by Aphex Twin ? I tried getting into electronic music but that was really boring for me

Yeah. If you wanna get into electronic music ambient like SAW is probably not the first you should go to. Ambient music isn't exciting.

So what should I do? I also tried listening to Cosomogramma but that was too loud, then I listened to Tarot Sport and that was pretty good.

Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children.

Considered one of the best electronic albums ever made. You're welcome.

That's what they told me about SAW...

SAW II is better, honestly, it's more developed and fleshed out. People told you that because Aphex Twin was decades ahead of his time with the ambient sounds and styles in those albums. They're definitely not something to just jump right into without some context, though.

Boards of Canada is more accessible and is widely acknowledged as one of the best electronic groups to ever do it, though. Music Has the Right to Children singlehandedly pioneered a style that has been imitated for decades. It was the first album that really got me into electronic music when I was younger. Smoke a bowl, relax, and put the album on some decent speakers/headphones.

This reminds me a lot of Burial's Untrue and I found that really boring too.

What kind of feel you want?

I just want to enjoy it you know ? Everyone tells me they love electronic music but I cant see why

Electronic music is diverse as hell so it's kinda hard to find what you like just by asking. A lot of it is also hard to find because a shitload of it is underground. You can look through my favorites playlist on YouTube if you'd like. It's a mix of a lot of stuff though mostly metal and electronic.

If it's helpful some of my favorite electronic songs right now are:

Quiteman - Now & Zen

the fuck is knowledge of self?

It is the understanding of your own personality and traits. Knowing your strengths, weaknesses, tendencies, fears, coping mechanisms, patterns of interaction, etc...

It gets a lot of spiritualist bullshit mixed in with it, since in most contexts it is meant as a Buddhist metaphor for one of the steps to "enlightenment", but in actual context it could be more accurately described as "self awareness".

"Self Awareness" instead of "knowledge of self" would have made the text flow so much better.

Indeed, it would have.

It's obviously an Art of War reference sigh my generation is so uneducated.

Art of War? I've never heard of that video game

listens to Dark Side of The Moon once

This album is a darkened room- whiskey soaked, smoke filled- with beautiful woman dancing slowly in a spot light off to the side. An ill defined band playing behind the bright lights and sometimes the horn guy steps up, his shirt opened three buttons too far, sweating, swaying, grabbing your attention, before he fades back into the collage of smoke and music. God this album is transcendent, pure and ill defined in it's presence, one of the quintessential head phone experiences I have ever had with music.

I'm now honestly afraid to use my phone, unless I use it in the basement, under a blanket, with no lights on. You see, I don't want to be the Internet's center of attention for using my own property, that I paid for and that doesn't harm anyone in any way.

Wow a bunch of women having fun and taking pictures with each other what morons. Let me make a sweeping generalization about their intelligence because they weren't fully committed to watching a Diamondbacks game.

And try were taking photos of themselves moments after the screen at the game encouraged people to submit some photos with the team hashtag

Best part is that when they were offered free tickets, they sold them and gave the money to charity.

On wait I thought they gave the tickets to charity

Either way still pretty cool.

If they sold them then it's not really cool and it's kind of a dick move

If they gave the money to charity?

The best part is they gave away tickets to a game they didn't give two shits about? Comparable to giving away a tshirt that you never wear.

Nice gesture but hardly a charitable giveaway. Especially considering the fact that baseball tickets don't actually help someone who needs food/water and shelter to survive.

Why is the internet so fascinated by this pic of girls ? Who hasn't seen girls take selfies ? Shit if my girl took me somewhere I didn't want to be (her friends party, chick flick, baseball game ) I would probably be on my phone too. (The only sport I like is boxing and basketball)

This is actually a still frame from a video, roughly two minutes long, of these girls taking selfie upon selfie of themselves at a baseball game. The reason it's so entertaining is probably because they fit the stereotype of "self-absorbed teenager" perfectly: endless selfie-photos holding random shit, not paying attention to anything but their appearance, making ditzy faces for the camera.

The point is, since you asked, why even go to a sporting event to begin with if you're just going to use it for a photo backdrop? People are poking fun at them because they're an easy target and live to be trendy.

My mind is blown cause it's a fucking baseball game. Half the people there aren't intently watching the game. It's pretty much just a thing to do and hang out while a game is happening

          Plus, come on.....It's the Diamondbacks

And it should be noted that they were taking selfies because right before this the Jumbotron at the game had a message encouraging people to upload their photos with the team hashtag

Also I think a lot of it is that these are sorority girls, and neck beards loves to make fun of girls that won't give them the time of day from behind a computer screen.

Might be a contributing factor, but I think the comedy of the situation is more universal than that.

They're pretty blonde women who take pictures of themselves who would prolly creep shame me if I sniffed their hair on the bus :(

Didn't they turn down tickets, asking for a charity donation instead? While maybe not "knowledge of self", I think they have more awareness than the creator of this verysmart meme would claim.

I have zero issue with people taking selfies. It's fun, it's a way of recording you doing something fun, and hurts no one.

Go try taking the "selfies are okay" argument anywhere else on reddit and they'll tell you that you sympathize with narcissists and you're wrong.

You notice they always go after teenage girls with these? Never do I see them complain about guys doing it and don't tell me guys don't do it everyone does it. Do I sense a tiny bit of sexism going on here?

          Also /r/im14andthisisdeep

Tons. One of the staples of neckbeardedry, which seems to be one of the huge demographics for source material on this sub.

Clearly nothing else but taking pictures of my face. As many as possible

If it was a playoff game I would understand why people would be baffled. But shit, people don't watch the Diamondbacks because they love baseball. They go to have a good time. During the broadcast, the announcers talked about these girls taking selfies for like 5 straight minutes, and cut back to each pitch while talking about it. If you can ignore the game as an announcer for that long, I'm sure you can understand why these sorority girls would be too. Ugh, my generation just doesn't get my generation at all
