So I've read a bit of Bloch's Feudal Society, but as the introduction to the book makes very clear, many of the concepts Bloch emphasizes have since been reevaluated and the consensus has since shifted. This is of course to be expected from an old book, but what attracted me to the book was the idea of a relatively comprehensive broad analysis of feudal society, in the Annales historiography tradition. So I ask, is there a modern equivalent? Also, is the Annales school truly dead? It would be a shame if it were...

Could anyone recommend me a book or two for Russian history? After reading the Russian chapters of Kissinger's world order I want to learn more about it, and I've never really thought about any of it's history pre WWI
