Flattery won't get you KFC any faster.

Now that popeyes has the same $5 big box, I see no point in going to kfc.

Popeyes makes me crap, as if the floodgates to the ocean have been opened. KFC doesn't do that to me.

Some people just can't handle flavor...

I think it's the spicy powder they use. it produces a mixture as to be compared to blended up liver chunks in thick beef broth. this is then violently expelled from my bowels.

But KFC will make you fatter. Like a feminist.

Very first moderator.

And she is a moderator of something interesting dead subreddits, presumably just so potential legit users can't use that subreddit name. What a joke.

God fucking dammit. I've wanted frames like this ever since I was a little kid. I was never available to afford nice frames. I'd always get the basic "Insurance-covered" ones. But I was always looking for frames like these. I found a couple, but could never afford to customize them. Putting lenses into frames is frequently more expensive than buying frames+lenses from the same place.

The fact that these came back into fashion recently allowed me to actually be able to find the frame/lens combo that I really liked and was comparatively inexpensive. Last year I was able to buy my first pair of cat-eye glasses, the kind I've wanted since I was fucking 4 years old, and people have already ruined them.

God fucking dammit.

Enjoy them. The people who are going to judge you for your eye wear choices aren't worth being friends with.

I feel you. I love flat caps. Been wearing them since the mid 90s. They're great. A brim to keep the sun off like a baseball cap but more stylish and they dont sit as low which means I can switch between glasses and sunglasses easily.

Then hipsters took them over and I cant even bitch about it because nothing is more hipster than saying you did something before it was cool.

Flat caps haven't been cool since the 70's, man. You were a weiner one way or the other.

edit: it's great that every time you post anything that could be construed as fashion advice on reddit, all these people come out of the woodwork talking about who cares if something is cool.

Sorry nerds, I like making and having friends. That means I have to participate in at least the bare minimum when it comes to fashion, and includes not wearing flat caps.

Eeyup.

I had the thick, square rimmed, black glasses before they became a "hipster" thing during my goth years. I got a lot of shit in college too for wearing those "ugly ass 3d movie glasses".

They were just what my insurance covered, dammit. Q. Q

It's cool, man. I'm in the same boat. My grandfather passed away and I snatched his flat caps. Been wearing them in his memory for many years. Now, all of a sudden I'm a hipster. Oh well.

I love them. I have a pair. I get compliments every day because they are fun and unique. Fuck the haters.

As a side note, I have never been on tumbler in my life. But phallic shapes do trigger me. Trigger sexy things. Like sex.

Edit: I spelled phallic like pollock. Or paddock. Or something equally embarrassing.

fallock shapes

I think you mean phallic shapes

fallock

I actually had to Google this and believe it or not, Google actually suggested, "Did you mean phallic?" Then I kind of had an a-ha moment. It's pretty rare to see incorrectly spelled words in the wild these days. This is something I'm going to tell my grandkids.

No, she means things that look like Jimmy Fallon's bollocks.

"Fallock" meaning Jimmy Fallon's genitals.

When you wear them you're just as fun and unique as the other million girls wearing them.

In a semi professional setting in rural Virginia they are very unique. Which is why I still live here. I'm a big fish in a little sheltered pond.

My girlfriend has recently gotten them. This is just a meme, I don't think it's the female equivalent of a fedora.

Fedora's aren't really an issue IRL either. It's the combination of a badly dressed and groomed person with said hat. The glasses by itself isn't really an issue but combined with technicolor hair and a "holier than thou" attitude that screams "female neckbeard".

The fedora thing is a meme too. Almost nobody IRL knows what a neckbeard is.

Nah, they're cool glasses. Literally no one beyond some dickweeds on reddit will give you an ounce of shit for having glasses like this.

Exactly what people who wear fedoras say about fedoras. Nobody outside of reddit is gonna give you shit for it, but you look like an idiot when you wear them.

Brush off the haters. You go, Glen Coco!

I have cat eye glasses and I think they look great on me. I love them!

Oh don't worry. Please don't think that the things that are generally accepted within the reddit echo chamber are things that actual normal people you will meet out in the world will think.

Nobody will think badly of you for wearing these frames. Anybody who actually would is certain to be a waste of time anyway. Don't trust the consensus of a bunch of teenagers.

What does this even mean? EDIT: Punctation

A person is "triggered" when they experience anxiety as a result of being reminded or reliving a traumatic event, it's commonly associated with post-traumatic stress disorder, and combat veterans grapple with it, as do rape victims.

However, the whole concept turned into a joke. This is just one of many examples: e.g. tumblr posts about how someone was triggered by the actions of Zeus in Classical Greek mythology, so a "trigger warning" would be needed to warn other college students about it. And it is a joke in that sense.

And it's pathetic, because it detracts from the seriousness of people who actually have PTSD, as opposed to someone who got offended by something they read on the internet once.

I've seen this a lot. I have PTSD. That's okay. Sometimes people say they have it and don't. That's okay too.

But no one in the throes of PTSD, where reading or writing something about certain things would trigger them, would start a fucking debate about it. The people who use being triggered to get out of a losing debate wouldn't know PTSD if it bit them in the face. Those of us who actually get triggered by this shit avoid these discussions, except of course, as a part of treatment. Which would not include Reddit.

SJWs; offended on behalf of people who really don't give a fuck.

Everyone should buy and read that book. It is cheap, short, easy to read, and incredibly insightful.

Having recently been to a renaissance festival... oh my god my fucking sides. I've needed a way to describe the overweight, mid 30's women that think their fat being jammed out either end of an ill-fitted corset is anything remotely in the realm of attractive.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't realize the corset needs to be made for your measurements to fit right. I picked one up at a hot topic for a costume years ago... Jesus, I have no idea how people get away with wearing those year round as casual clothes.

I had one made last year for my specs and it does the job as a true steel boned corset. I have two costumes I currently use it with, and it ties everything in perfectly. I'm also a fit body type at 5'8", 130lb, but I have seen far heavier women wear a corset very well if it was professionally made for them.

Most rennfaire folks buy one there and never do anything else with it. The Tavern wenches are better fitted...

Wait... I wear corsets. Is that really the female fedora? I always though it looked cute on me.

[–]Epshot 8

you probably don't need to take fasion advice from reddit.. on /r/funny

Idk, everyone seems pretty confident that they know what theyre talking about. I feel like this is the perfect place for fashion advice /s

I think it really depends on the context. If you're wearing them over normal clothes as a casual thing it looks pretty awkward, if it's part of a costume or something it's fine. By all means wear them all the time if you like them but I definitely think theres a time and place where they're appropriate.

No it isn't. Rock that corset and fuck the haters.

Fairly certain he's referring to overweight women wearing corsets when they're not called for. It's generally not the article of clothing itself, but the person wearing it that causes the fuss. Fedoras are perfectly fine if you're Frank Sinatra, but are more commonly worn by young guys in trench coats, cargo shorts, and a random graphic tee along with fingerless leather gloves. Similarly, I most often see corsets worn over improper clothing with an improper fit. This is especially prevalent within the goth subculture.

Tastefully done, a fedoras and corsets are both perfectly acceptable. Although these days I'm not so sure about the fedora, given the stigma associated with it. It may be beyond redemption. I certainly wouldn't wear one.

Keep in mind corsets are like hats or tattoos. It's a complement. If you're stylish a hat can make you more stylish. If you're hot, tattoos or a corset with make you look hotter, perhaps. The problem arises when a guy who dresses like shit, with cum stained cargo shorts and an xmen T-shirt, tries to come off as a Beau Brummel for wearing a fedora. Or when a girl who's far from hot standards thinks wearing a corset will make up for 15 years of dietary bad decisions.

Yes, I'm kinda shitlordish.

PS you look hot so nobody will give you shit for the corset.

'You could really be a Beau Brummel, baby, if ya just give it half a chance.

The female fedora... is a fedora.

The fedora is a ladies' hat. It really is.

Hats don't really matter by gender

No really, it was originally made and marketed as a ladies' hat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedora Says so right there.

[–]Dazaer 8

We just solved the age old question. Guys wear fedoras because they misinterpreted what they meant by "ladies hats".

And the "fedoras" that most neckbeards wear are actually trillbys.

That all may be true but the Internet view of a fedora is this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trilby

There is great confusion between the trilby and the fedora. Or so I once read.
