This is probably what happens when you assign 4+ villagers to build a house or something simple in AoE2.

Oh god... what happens with aegis on?

Except for when you build a Wonder. That's when you assign almost all your villagers.

That's because it is nighttime, obviously. The crows on the other hand...

Wait, So that song is about the slave trade?

Dumbo looks so stoked to be there and ready to help, it almost makes me happy then I just think of when he visits his mom in her lock up and All the happy goes away.

I watched Dumbo with my kids the other day for the first time since I was a kid. I didn't remember it being so sad.

That was way better than Pixar's Dumbo and Universal's Dumbo.

Huh, so you're the guy who says that

What mildly infuriated me was the fact that they were not hammering in a circular pattern, was more of an [X] patern

I think that might have been for safety reason, but I'm not sure what those reasons would be.

The fact that guy nr 3 hits it after guy nr 4 ruins the satisfaction for me.

I was looking at their hands & how they're always together (as opposed to spreading them out & bringing them in on the way down) makes me wonder if I've been doing it wrong or if they are.

If you bring your hands in to the bottom, you get a lot more power in your saying, if you don't you get a lot more control.

Right, the idea is that you start out the swing with your hands apart (one at the top and one at the bottom) so you get better control as you line up the hit, then slide your top hand to the bottom as you're coming around the top to get more power. That's the way I was taught to do it.

That's the right way to do it when you're working on your own. In a group like this it's more important to maintain accuracy since a miss could throw off everyone and four hammers can do a lot more damage than one hammer.

So then by what you're saying they're doing it wrong. If accuracy is more important in a group like this then all of them should have their hands apart. Guy 1, 3, and 4 all keep them together at the bottom and guy 2 does what /u/D0ntPutThat0nMe does. Shouldn't, by your account, they all keep their hands apart to maintain accuracy?

None of them missed, so I think they're alright.

Seriously, No need to mind fuck it.

Some people are more accurate than others. So 1,3 and 4 may be the seniors who never miss, and 2 needs the extra control.

Yes, they should keep their hands together. But it also looks like they've done this enough to have it down.

When dicing choke up on the knife, nice kitchen trick. Basically grab 1/2 handful over the handle of the knife. Only do this with big blades though nothing tiny.

Start out with your hands spread for control and aim, then slide too hand down to meet bottom hand for more leverage and power. Make the hammer do the work.

They are

Ninja edit: it looks like they start out the correct way, but they switch to just using the weight and its momentum to force it around after that.

Think of it as a figure 8 form instead of a circle.

i think its so they all have space to swing based on the movement of the guys around them.

Yeah. At first I thought he had fucked up the rotation, but then I realized thats how they meant it to be. I am glad OP finally submitted a version of this gif that starts at the very beginning. Anyone have source video?

What? do they have numbers?

i took it to mean n (as in any number) from the r (right)

Yeah, I figured that out with the "figure 8" comment above. I gues I was just into the fact that once the rotation was set, the didn't break rotation.

Hes got the longest arm swing/reach tho.

Or how they aren't more evenly spaced around the stake.

Possibly deliberate so that the camera gets a better view of the process?

what's up with background-guy at 0:16?

lol it looks like the little ball he throws in gets stuck to the dude on the right's hammer and then falls off towards the ground - background-guy tries to catch it.

While satisfying, does anyone know what they are doing? Other than slamming a pole into the ground.

Looks to be a tent stake.

Into a concrete road? Doesn't that damage the road?

Probably a large parking lot. Cousin of mine worked for a tent company for weddings and business events. Looks similar to that on a larger scale.

I'd wager a guess it's for a type of tent structure that will be staying up for the season instead of a weekend. Bigger the tent the more wind you need to worry about so you need bigger and deeper stakes to anchor it. You can see the metal cable attached as well.

What do they use to remove the stakes at the end of the season?

an end-of-season big stake remover

I know, that guy really hits it hard.

Green hat can barely wield that hammer. He might as well just stand there and cheer the other guys on.

Bugs me that is not in order.

Front guy's blows seem to do most of the work.

The two guys on the left are almost landing on eachother.

Makes you wonder how guys like this learned the trade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_LA_R4ifYk&feature=player_detailpage#t=459

What Kind of Adamantium stake as they using to drive it into concrete without it just exploding?

Ugh. It bugs me that the guy in the green hat hits the tent.

works better if you match it up with that Ice Cutter song from the beginning of Frozen

anyone else hear the anvil chorus?

To be real, I was expecting each guy to hit the former's hammer, so it would've been 4 hammers stacked on top of the pole.

Green hat guy gets maybe one fully square hit on it--watch the head of his hammer (giggity)

Four hammerheads are better than one.

If the teams that I get put on actually used teamwork, that would be oddly satisfying as well...

I feel like this could very easily go tragically awry.

The guy with the white hat is rushing. ERGH.

[–]Maybaq 0

Not once did the guy furthest from the camera push it in any deeper

Only way to make this even better is watching the peg get driven completely into the ground

In this made-for-gif-movie, the role of your mother is being played by a large tent stake.

[–]Tsuku 0

Someone write a hearty chant for these guys.

I counted each time the post actually went down for each worker. From the right worker #4 hits the post down 4 times. Worker 3: 3 times. Worker 2: 2 times. Worker 1: 5 times. The smallest of them seems to hit the hardest.

Looks like Mario got a couple double cherries.

Post it in r/fitness to see how bad their form is.

With the silver hat dude was the third in order

This would make one hell of a perfect loop.

Actually, counting from the left, they're going at a 1,2,4,3 order, which actually make it mildly frustrating...

This is more in sync than any of my threading projects...

When will people learn that ending the gif before the task is complete absolutely ruins the satisfaction of the gif.

The guy with the green hat didn't do any work at all. The others were only hitting it at 1/3rd strength because they were too scared to hit each other.

Pointless. But interesting anyways.

Not one lord of the rings dwarven iron work joke? Is this Reddit?
