Funnily enough, I think this idea is hillarious. I love it. The things I would change would be remove the protections for them to kill their target, and add achievements for accidentally killing your target, one for by transported, one for witch.

Beyond that, what to do if someone kills your target or your target gets lynched. Something along the lines of the exe where you gain a new objective. Become the last one standing maybe? Murder them all?

I'm also wondering, target always being a townie....something makes me think it would be even funnier if the target turned out to be an SK or a member of the Mafia. Especially if the Evil roles didnt win with the Yandere. The Mafia would be trying to find and kill them while the Yandere is trying to keep them all to themselves. Maybe that wouldn't work, but it could lead to some really fun gameplay.

Thanks for your feedback! I'll remove the protections and add the achievements.

I'm thinking that after your target gets murdered/lynched, your new objective is to kill everyone else, or you commit suicide the night after because you can't live without your target.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

Rather than "I changed my mind" I'd go with "notice me senpai!"

The idea of having them kill themselves when their target dies occurred to me as well, but that's a little unfair. They're target could die throu utterly no fault of their own, just like the exe's target, so the effect should be about the same.

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

So if they die, they become a jester?

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

No, jester doesn't seem appropriate here. Maybe becoming an SK? That might be overkill though. Maybe just changeing the objectives so they become a killing role without night immunity?

Slams Table

Objection!

.......

Just what you wrote was quite an enjoyable show, But I have one problem...If this role is truly neutral killing...It shouldn't win with town only!

A clear contradiction!

(I like the idea, just wanted to point that little thing out.)

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 2ポイント3ポイント  (6子コメント)

True, so true. But the Yandere can't really win with other neutrals. The goal is to only win with the target.

Hmmm... What to do, what to do... I must solve this dilemma!

[–]I_press_keysTown 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

You win with noone, except for your target. Maybe make it the goal to win with your target, and remove the limitation of your target being town. Sometimes you win with an arso, sometimes you win with the mafia.

[–]ninjanick95"Kitty Jones" 0ポイント1ポイント  (4子コメント)

Just make it so that the target can be anyone, not just town. Then change the win condition to "Can only win with their target."

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (3子コメント)

On it.

[–]LockeTheHunterCHIHIRO FUJISAKI 0ポイント1ポイント  (2子コメント)

I think that they should be able to win with survivors, too.

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

The goal is to be alone with your target. Survivors don't get mercy. (Sorry survivors!)

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Exactly. And I think it would be perfect if they win with their target, but not their target's team.

Which may mean that some roles won't be able to win with the Yandere. Like the jester. That would be a really funny game. Jester desperately trying to die, yandere desperately trying to keep them alive.

[–]tarnishedkaraEscort 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

How about "Stalker" instead, they pick out a single townie they obsess over and will do anything to be with them, even if that means killing them.

[–]Pno24 -4ポイント-3ポイント  (44子コメント)

You're joking about the name, right? Why would they use dumb weeaboo words in the game?

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 3ポイント4ポイント  (42子コメント)

Because it perfectly describes what the role is.

Do you have a better name for it?

[–]Pno24 -4ポイント-3ポイント  (41子コメント)

Yes, anything other than a Japanese weeaboo anime-word.

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 1ポイント2ポイント  (14子コメント)

Example?

I like how you automatically assume it originated from Anime, tho.

[–]Pno24 -5ポイント-4ポイント  (13子コメント)

Of course it doesn't originate from anime. By anime-word I mean a word that weeaboos learn through anime. It's like tsundere, nani and all those other random words weeaboos use. Be honest, you didn't learn that word from Japanese class.

Edit: Actually, I think it does originate from anime.

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (12子コメント)

I don't go to Japanese Class. I didn't learn it from Anime either. The meaning was all that mattered to me when creating this.

But anyway, if you have any alternatives, please, speak up!

[–]Pno24 -2ポイント-1ポイント  (11子コメント)

Anything's better than yandere. Lover for example, or stalker as someone suggested. Why the hell does it have to be Japanese?

Also, I should point out that "yandere" is generally not used outside of animes. It's basically an anime term. Why the hell would Town of Salem use anime terms as names for their roles?

I didn't learn it from Anime either

Then where the tarnation did you learn it?

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (6子コメント)

Internet. It's simple, really. I don't even watch much anime. :/

Would a lover murder everyone in their path just to be alone with somebody?

TBH I don't want to argue because this is supposed to be just a little role idea, and I don't want to argue over a name.

[–]Pno24 -3ポイント-2ポイント  (5子コメント)

You've learnt it from other anime fans, then.

Yandere is a subgenre in anime as far as I've learnt by googling. I don't see why you'd use an anime term as a name for a role in Town of Salem. It's not an anime game.

[–]11037leonkuwata11037Conslut (Always a slut for consig)[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (4子コメント)

I know it's not. But I couldn't think of a better name.

Let's just stop this petty argument, okay? It's just a name.

[–]sfcpfc -2ポイント-1ポイント  (3子コメント)

Wow! It's like if languages borrowed words from other languages!

As far as I know, you have the word "mosquito" in your language. You shouldn't use it, it belongs to Spanish. In fact, who the hell had the idea of including dumb spaniard words on the English dictionary?

[–]Pno24 1ポイント2ポイント  (2子コメント)

Yes, but "yandere" isn't a loanword, it's an anime subgenre. You'll find "mosquito" in the English dictionary. You won't find "yandere".

[–]sfcpfc 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

My point is that it depends on its usage. If everyone begins using Yandere then it will be added to the dictionary, without a doubt.

[–]LockeTheHunterCHIHIRO FUJISAKI 1ポイント2ポイント  (25子コメント)

You probably don't even know the difference between anime and actual japanese culture.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 0ポイント1ポイント  (12子コメント)

Agreed. Sounds like knee jerk predudice. I do think something more universal might be preferable, but I can't think of anything else which exactly sum up the role the same way, and I have no real objections to Yandere. Just 'Stalker' maybe?

[–]Pno24 -2ポイント-1ポイント  (11子コメント)

No, I find it weird to use Japanese anime-words (yes, it originates from anime. Google the term to learn about it) as names for roles in an English game. This isn't an anime game.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train -1ポイント0ポイント  (10子コメント)

Then why attach an insult to it? (Yes, weaboo is an insult. Google the term to learn about it)

Raising an objection doesn't have to include insults. It's unnecessary and hurts your argument.

[–]Pno24 -2ポイント-1ポイント  (9子コメント)

"Weeaboo. Someone who is obsessed with Japan/Japanese Culture/Anime"

I don't think it's an insult.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 0ポイント1ポイント  (8子コメント)

I can quote urban dictionary too. Like the WHOLE of that given definition.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Weeaboo

To highlight the relevant part:

"They use Japanese words but usually end up pronouncing them wrong and sounding like total assholes. You can find alot of these faggots clogging up the forums of Gaia Online,"

And that part is just after the part you quoted. That's insulting. It's an insult. You use the word, but you clearly don't move in the circles in which in originated.

You don't think it's an insult, but I'm telling you now, it is insulting.

[–]autourbanbot 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Here's the Urban Dictionary definition of Weeaboo :

Someone who is obsessed with Japan/Japanese Culture/Anime, etc. and attempts to act as if they were Japanese, even though they're far from it. They use Japanese words but usually end up pronouncing them wrong and sounding like total assholes. You can find alot of these faggots clogging up the forums of Gaia Online, hanging out in the international aisle of the supermarket, or crowding the manga section of your local bookstore. Synonym of wapanese.

I told that weeaboo girl over there that Inuyasha sucks. She slapped me across the face and proceded to cuss me out in Japanese.

[–]Pno24 0ポイント1ポイント  (6子コメント)

That's some random person's opinion on weeaboos. That's not the definition of weeaboo.

It means someone who's obsessed with anime/Japanese culture. Nothing else. Also, I said it was a word that weeaboos use, which is true.

[–]Pno24 -3ポイント-2ポイント  (11子コメント)

I speak Japanese.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yandere

This is just not a word they're going to use. It's a dumb suggestion for a name. Why would they use a random Japanese word?

[–]autourbanbot 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Here's the Urban Dictionary definition of yandere :

Contrary to the popular belief that it is the opposite of tsundere, it describes an anime character who is either psychotic or violent or both, and shows affection to the main character. Became a popular moe genre after the airing of the last episode of School Days. Other yandere characters include Ryuuguu Rena from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni series.

I wish there was a yandere girl who would love me so much she'll want to cleave my head with a hachet.

[–]LockeTheHunterCHIHIRO FUJISAKI -2ポイント-1ポイント  (9子コメント)

Do you have a better one?

[–]Pno24 -2ポイント-1ポイント  (8子コメント)

No, I don't have a better one. But that doesn't mean "yandere" isn't a horrible suggestion. Why would you use a random Japanese word?

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 1ポイント2ポイント  (6子コメント)

Because it's not random. It was chosen because the definition defines the role.

[–]Pno24 -1ポイント0ポイント  (5子コメント)

It's an anime term. This is not an anime game, so it makes no sense to use an anime term for a role name.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 2ポイント3ポイント  (4子コメント)

Ah I see your point. Right.

Best stop using Consigliere too then. This isn't an Italian psychotherapy game, so we'd better not use any Italian. The fact it perfectly sums up the role is utterly irrelevant, it's not English so we'd best not use it.

[–]Liquid_Hate_Train 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

Because it's not random. It was chosen because the definition defines the role.

[–]SpiderminiJester 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

If I can, I kill every Yandere and Senpai. Soooo tiring.
