You don't have to follow everything said by things. It is called NOT being a blind follower. That said, in the overall Mauryan empire, the position of women was okay.

Oh the irony of you saying to not be a blind follower.

On a side note, why did you just delete all your posts in this chain of comments?

Lemme guess this WAS wiigamer136 right?

Yup, you are quite correct. He seems to like paging you for some reason.

Did he reference the Cholas as well?

[–]energyturtle_akABCDs just wanna have fun~~ 0ポイント1ポイント  (6子コメント)

He didn't. Is that something he does on the regular?

[–]shannondoahkeeps seeing Tamillions of colours. 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Mauryas and the Cholas are invoked regularly. Also once on how Guptas violated caste because they themselves were vaishyas(in a discussion with /u/perseus0807 ).

What were his other comments?

[–]energyturtle_akABCDs just wanna have fun~~ 1ポイント2ポイント  (3子コメント)

He invoked the glorious Chanakya and lamented how things were so different now. He also then spent some time complaining about how horrible the people on this sub are after being asked why he deleted all his comments.

Ah yes, Chanakya, whom my extremely conservative chemistry teacher invoked in my tuitions to keep boys and girls seperate(and a host of other things that make conservative Muslims look tame) Why not admit that smart people can be misogynist?

[–]energyturtle_akABCDs just wanna have fun~~ 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Because that would go against the kulcha! Our glorious ancestors didn't die for this!

Of course /u/energyturtle_ak denied that I said afterwards that he was misogynistic in one of my comments! And at least the position of women was improving from what it was during the Gupta Empire times!

In the same way, people who support gay rights can have a hint of homophobia in them but don't hate them, but many find it strange. But of course, gays probably feel the same of the opposite!

Another reason why

/u/shannondoah is knowledgeable AF. So I do that sometimes. And it is a fact that ABCDesis forget the good things of ancient India and obsess every fucking time on only the bad. They love to spam the downvote button on anyone who points out good things of ancient India because MUH MISOGYNY AND SATI, AMIRITE? Anyways, I would mention the Chola Empire, but obviously the closed minded folks here would still go MUH MISOGYNY AND SATI again. And the Cholas were there for a millenia. So quite a long time! The Cholas were still patriarchal by looking at some punishments that were present for women by not men, but it was a good step forwards compared to their predecessors. People forget to appreciate this.

You yourself know that I have pointed out the misogynist aspects and took ownership of them. But I also take ownership of the great thinking of the past. And you yourself know that ancient India wasn't uniform when it comes to misogyny either. Too bad chutiyas here act like it is! And in a negative manner!

It's like beating a dead horse, honestly...

No, I think it's just you.

[–]wiigamer136PROD KULCHA WARRIOR! /s -2ポイント-1ポイント  (15子コメント)

For what? Not taking ownership of misogyny?

[–]energyturtle_akABCDs just wanna have fun~~ 0ポイント1ポイント  (14子コメント)

I think people are generally off-put by your tone, and because you come off as extremist.

[–]wiigamer136PROD KULCHA WARRIOR! /s -2ポイント-1ポイント  (13子コメント)

Or because most ABCDesis are closed minded AF. Anyways, like I said. No point in discussing this here. It is like beating a dead horse, IMO.

because you come off as extremist.

You have to have a loud tone when you deal with such delusional, closed minded people here!

Such irony...

I'm not. I already have taken ownership of the blunders. This is probably the 3rd time I said that.

Laugh all you want. Kulcha will die and glorious Hindoo culture will be revived one day. Most Hindoos have forgotten the true meaning of Dharma. The irony is when some chutiyas start riots despite that one of the tenants of Hinduism is Ahimsa. These are the types of things that need to be brought back up whether it is theological or not. Theological arguments can support this cause though. So why not bring it up?

I have learned that beating a dead horse will not do the trick. It's better to bring it up to fence sitters instead.
