american apparel. the only hoodies / jumpers i wear. on the expensive tip but last quite a while.

You're paying for the fact you're not supporting sweat shops which is worth it in my mind.

Yup, banish those factory workers back to drug muling and forced prostitution

I hate to sound callous about this, but thinking about this from the perspective of a US citizen its good. I will gladly pay more for my t-shirts and hoodies if they are made in America and are generally of better quality than a lot of other basic items on the market

Well yea, for quality that makes sense. I agree. But if you buy local because you're trying to save the world from sweat shops, you're doing it wrong and not using proper economic logic.

DAE THINK THAT BUYING PRODUCTS MADE IN SWEATSHOPS IS THE MORALLY CORRECT CHOICE

Facts are facts. The sad fact is that They don't have the luxuries of first world countries. For far more complicated reasons than can be expressed in any forum, but it is what it is.

[–]Unhelpful_Scientist -2ポイント-1ポイント  (10子コメント)

My favorite example of this is the debate from the first world countries looking at banning child labor in 3rd world countries. Like the US NEVER had anyone under the age of 18 work in a factory...

Yeah, and then we stopped because we decided as a culture it was shitty.

[–]Unhelpful_Scientist 8ポイント9ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yes but my point is that child labor is relative. Do you think banning a 15year old in Columbia from working because we in the US have decided that 18yrs old is the adult age?

Other societies do not have the same belief system for age, and do you think not letting a 15yr work legally will not encourage illegal activity if they need the money?

Shitty is relative

[–]HaoleopteryxLacoste Intolerant 0

Relative to "not shitty"

Shitty life in America is pretty luxurious in other countries.

Don't try to act like you buy from companies like Uniqlo and Gap because you're trying to help the third world

That's a completely wrong mindset to have even if its kind of right

I've found their quality to be somewhere between mediocre and awful in the past couple of years. Had multiple hoodies fall apart/have major seams ripping within a month or two of pretty light wear.

My H&M hoodies have held up for years at like half the cost.

All of the hoodies I ever got from AA immediately started to pill and look gross after just a couple of washes. Does that not bother you, have you found a solution, or do they make 'em better nowadays?

Probably hasn't happened to him. Not to me either. Might it be the way you wash them?

Yeah but probably no more expensive than Gap

mm it's a bit more expensive than Gap, especially with all of Gap's sales.

source: own both

Which is better for quality?

Both companies show some noticeable quality control variance, but AA is probably better quality. That said, I generally like Gap products, especially for the price when got on sale.

Moderately boxy, because it's basically construction worker quality, but Carhartt makes some crazy thick hoodies and sweaters.

If you're in Europe Carhartt WIP are worth a look too, great quality and fit.

I like how they have a lot of stuff without elastic bottoms/cuffs. I bought a long sleeve shirt about three years ago and went a size down and it's as warm as a sweater, fits like a slim fitting yet super thick long sleeve shirt, and is probably the most resilient shirt that I own.

u n i q l o. 100% cotton and will hold up, nice and comfy, look dope w/ bombers over them. shitty fitpic

Are you standing on a bath

Looks more like an enormous sink to me... with a bottle of Tabasco sauce nearby.

Probably so he could capture his whole outfit in the bathroom mirror. I stand on the sink sometimes so I can see how my pants and shoes look.

only way i can get a full length mirror fam

Are you a vampire?

Off-topic but are you crypto as in the guy who used to play comp tf2?

My favourite sweatshirt is a grey one from Uniqlo, but I get all my hoodies from American Apparel. The Dov's hoodie has been a staple of mine for a long time.

I really like my Uniqlo and Alternative Apparel sweatshirts.

American Giant make my favorite hoodies at the moment. I have a couple. The material feels solid and the cut is fitted. Probably a bit more expensive than you'd expect but you're paying for quality. http://www.american-giant.com/mens-hoodies/

They do look nice but its just a tad too expensive for my range. Thank you though!

My American Giant hoodie came in the mail this week. I don't know what the hell is going on, but I do not recommend. I sent mine back yesterday.

I'm 5'8'', 145 lbs and I got a medium. The length was too short. I tested the length by lifting up my arms like I'm reaching for something. Usually if the sweater/hoodie goes to my belt line it's ok. The AG hoodie went above my belt and I could see my belly button.

The fit is made for buff guys. The arm diameter is huge! This kind of guy could wear it: YouTuber named FouseyTube

The upper half / shoulder area / chest area is also wide... and thus top heavy. The lower half is thinner and lighter. Thus weight balance is off. Basically proportions are messed up for me.

I'm asian, so my body type is lean. Like this guy: Nigahiga

Again, I don't know what the hell is going on with the reviews. There were a few reviews warning about the "boxy" fit. Idk, maybe it's meant for bigger guys: 180 lbs and over.

Reigning Champ.

Key word "cheap"

I understand you dude. Invested $150 into a blue tiger hoodie. Best sweatshirt I have. So cozy.

I've got a black one from H&M that I wear all the time when I want to be comfortable. $20.

Yeah I love the stuff of gotten from h&m. If there's one near you it's definitely worth a look-see.

As a resident of Minneapolis, there are at least 5 H&M's within 30 minutes of me!

When I find something I like at H&M I always get three of 'em so i can throw each out after a wash or two without having to lose a chunk of my wardrobe

Your cheapest, most durable hoodie you're gonna get, hands down, Hanes or Fruit of the Loom at Walmart. I bought this hoodie about three years ago and not a tear or fray in sight.

Fruit of the Loom hoodies are absolute shit. I only wear it when I'm laying around the house because the fit is just atrocious.

The fit is horrible though

not if you are a bunch of potatoes

What if I am a bag of quality, American grown, white potatoes?

Agreed. Hanes are made to be wearable for anyone. This means that it will be too big for thin body types.

Alternative Apparel have a very nice cut. They're always on sale at Amazon too

Try shoe stores like Finish Line or Foot Locker. I've gotten some plain sweats and hoodies there before and they were super cheap.

American Apparel is great.

Check out Pistol Lake

You could try winners. I recently picked up some blank hoodies from there for about :$30 each.

Winners = Canadian Marshall's

But we have more Marshall's than Winners...

yeah almost anywhere will have plain sweatshirts

all the stores you listed do for sure

not sure what you gauge to be poor quality though

I think HM and Gap would be good but i didnt get to check in there. I was able to look in JC Penny and wasnt impressed

I have a plain black jacket from h&m that's held up pretty damn well. I think it was 20 bucks.

For some reason I couldn't find any plain hoodies at Gap, just the pullover GAP ones.

AA or Gap. I actually have a grey zip up from H&M that is extremely comfy and looks great with all my dark denim and khakis. My go to hoodie. Haven't been in there for quite some time, but worth checking out I would say.

I love the H&M brand crew neck from H&M, they've always been my favorite sweatshirts. As far as zip up hoodies go H&M's Divided brand is really good for the price.

My go-to hoodies are Carhartt. This one is my fave. If that little logo bothers you, I don't know what to tell you man. Carhartt some of the best quality you can get and it's not too expensive for some of their hoodies.

Yeah they do the workwear basics right, for sure. Those are nice and warm as well.

Zara has got some great hoodies with other super stylish sweatshirts!

[–]deus_ex_macadamia 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I got an awesome navy hoodie for like 10 beans at Old Navy, it's soft as hell too.

[–]HH-Rob 0

Carhartt.

They have a little insignia on the right sleeve but they are some comfy ass jumpers.

Old Navy. really cheap, and the cut is reasonable.

I got a nice hoodie from Target for $27. It's gray, thin and surprisingly warm. They also have pretty nice sweaters for around $20 that are plain colored, yet look pretty stylish (in my opinion).

Target. Ross. Wal-Mart.

Also, I can't believe someone's gotta ask the internet where to buy a plain hoodie. Jesus Christ.

Honest question: I see a lot of people recommending brands like H&M and Gap here. How do people justify supporting stores like these knowing the horrible working conditions the people making these clothes are subjected to?

Zumiez usually has plain zip-up hoodies in various colors. sometimes you can find heathered colors too.

[–]Really_Need_To_Poop -2ポイント-1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Honestly, EBay! You can get pretty nice generic off brand no logo no design shirts/ sweaters off there. Just make sure you check the fabric blend. I got a few hoodies of different colors for like 18$ each! They take a couple weeks to get to you tho because they get shipped on a conoe from china.

I can get you shirts manufactured man hit me up
