I Saw Her Across the World - The Flash Game That Let’s You Choose Your Own Pronouns

So I regularly will play flash games. Most of the time, I don’t really find a lot of meaning or depth in flash games. I use them as more of a time killer. But sometimes I am pleasantly surprised to find a deep and meaningful experience.

I Saw Her Across the World is the third game in the I Saw Her series where the player must get through a series of small platforming puzzles to get to the girl (and it involves one of you being a zombie usually). The first two games were fine, but when I started playing this game, I was surprised to see that there was an added level of customization.

In this game, you are able to chose what gender you play as, and what gender your lover will be. You can even write in your own preferred pronouns.

Here, you can write in your preferred pronouns. You can then chose your lover and decide what gender they will be.

This is the first game I have ever encountered with this kind of customization. For the people who don’t identify as either 'him’ or 'her’ can now play as someone like themselves. Someone they can identify with. I think that is just great.

As far as the gameplay goes, this game is actually surprisingly reliant on exploration. While the first two games of the series had you going through simple rooms until you beat the game, this game gives you locations which you can explore at your own pace.

The narrative is simply but still nice. I found myself smiling throughout because of the game’s charm. For the most part you are just following your love around playing a game of tag. Oh, and you are both zombies. Simple, and charming.
