Translation of the comments:

Asif: It's just that he's left me, and I've left him.

Saad: This is very inappropriate, people make mistakes. He's your friend, and you've even publicly posted this status, imagine what he must be going through.

Saad: You change friends like people swap wrist watches.

Ali: This is not right Asif. This sort of behaviour out in the open doesn't befit your character. "He may have faltered, but he was yours."(I shit you not that is exactly what he's posted.)

Edit: I should also point out that the language used is very very formal Urdu(which I've tried to represent as best I could), the way you'd talk with your boss or a senior figure, not with your friends. I suspect they talk this way only on the internet, not in person. Very likely because their posts are public and they're trying to sound sophisticated and posh to impress their facebook friends, whereas in person they'd be comfortable with each other, so they'll be a lot more frank and informal because they all know they ain't posh for shit.

Edit2: Swap watches, not cars.

I think Ali is someone older. Zaib is not a word that is commonly used by younger people now.

These people may have their parents added as friends which would explain formal urdu. I try not to throw chutiya, randi, bharwa on Facebook for that reason.

Edit- I think Ali is saying tha tou woh apka dost. Which would translate to he was your friend. Dost got cut so it came out to be, "he was yours."

You guys are out here crackin the fucking matrix figuring out this shit, meanwhile I barely remember how to count to twenty in spanish.

Yea but if anyone needs you to ask a local where the library is you're set.

"He was still your friend"

Yes that's a better translation.

I disagree with Ali, Mudasir should have never shown attitude to Asif. I know Salman would never do that to him.

Saad: You, change your friends, like a girl, changes clothes.

[–]Corporal_Cavernosa 17ポイント18ポイント  (4子コメント)

Ghari is watch, not car.

Yeah you're right, that makes a lot more sense. Don't know why I thought of car first, people don't even have cars over there(jk, somewhat).

Right on on the language. Makes me think this is Pakistani not Indian. Hilarious nonetheless.

Also, the lower part of the last line is cropped so it's most likely "tha to woh apka dost" or something like that.

Which would make the last line

"He may have faltered, but he was still your..." (friend).

i'm cringe-laughing, there should be a word for this, i'm so confused right now...

This is hilarious. At the same time I suspect the comment got cropped while editing the pic.

Then they should really learn they've been spelling snek wrong

It is inform for all..
Salman is Alladin Aladeen, Asif is Alladin Aladeen and Mudasir is definitely very Alladin Aladeen.
My bad, I Aladeen'd up.

I love this sub, and so many posts have made me crack up. This, this is one of the true gems. Everything about this is gold. WTF.

This, along with "this is snek" and the Pakistani guy asking hooters for help is one of the best posts here.

At my job we have to label meat, and this new guy from India always writes Stek for Steak, I think about this subreddit every time I see it.

So I can order strong child beer from the police?

Drink safe before driving?

Seems consistent with what I've seen of traffic in India... with the way people zoom by on little bikes going 30 mph while goats and random pedestrians wander about between the vehicles, how could you even tell if a driver was intoxicated?

The only reason I knew my girlfriend miscarried before she did is because I could no longer taste the pregnancy.

It's not weed. That's not a well known depiction of drugs in Pakistan.

It's one of the stock fancy brushes in photoshop

Serious question. I just found this subreddit. Are they gay, or is this just how they express their friendship in this culture with the "new" technology?

Pretty sure it's just an expression of friendship. This is similar to a lot of the other "best friends" content on this sub.

people are really senti about their bros back here.Like you people are for the hoes :p

BWWWUUUUUUURRRRAAAAHHHHAAAA! OYEE PAAAAAJJJI! 😂😜

It's common in India for male friends to hold hands while walking together. You give them the Internet and this happens.

REALLY?? TIL.

Yeah. For many cultures, hand holding is just a sign of amicability and trust. Doesn't have to be a romantic thing, and often isn't. I believe this is true for many parts of the Middle East but I could be wrong.

Common here as well xD i.e. Pakistan

When I went to India it was quite common to see men holding hands in the street. I don't know the whole cultural meaning behind it but it wasn't a Gay thing. As far as I can tell they were just friends holding hands. It's strange to see from a Westerners point of view though.

I thought the comment further up was joking. That is odd from a western point of view. I'm sure there are things Americans do that they find weird as hell too.

I'm an Indian and I find it weird that you guys use toilet paper instead of water to um... wipe..

Yep. My bestie in school was Pakistani and they found the lack of water cleansing really nasty.

Having a sheet over the sofa is such a desi thing to do. I saw that everywhere when I was in pakistan.

Lol, my grandma here in America does that (she's from India).

desi?

Of or pertaining to Asian subcontinent.

Des is land or nation. Desi is a person of that nation. Pakistanis (most of them), Indians and Bangladeshis are desis. Not sure about Nepalis. The Indian ethnic Nepalis would be. Some Pakistanis from the western portion of the country might would not consider themselves as Desi as their culture is more Afghan or Persian.

Bangla-desh even has the word in their name with a slightly different pronunciation.

Some Pakistanis from the western portion of the country might would not consider themselves as Desi as their culture is more Afghan or Persian.

Not really. I had a neighbor who looked Chinese and spoke Persian, still Desi.

how did you guys find him?

dude in the subcontinent everyone is everyone's cousin ... somehow.

Mudasir will rise once again in all his glory with two new friends and a mix tape that is fire.

Now you know exactly who you're talking to when you call Comcast.

That bastard Mudasir.

I'm happy Asif has realized I'm the better friend.

7 months 21 days. Name checks out.

Mudasir thought I was fronting. That's why Asif replaced him.

[–]I_Burned_The_Lasagna 9ポイント10ポイント  (5子コメント)

What Asif had to say on Twitter:

Mudasir was a good friend until 10 September he report my pic on facebook and now he is alone and I have so many friends

Because I was right

Too perfect.

Oh man, why the hell is this news?

Asif's friendship is a fickle thing, Salman better watch his back

The urdu in the comments definitely is. We don't speak so formal.

Wait, is Mudasir wearing a Comcast polo? No wonder that friendship had to get dropped.

Holly Sneks, This is just hilarious. Haha.
Everything about this picture is ridiculously funny, right down to the big red green crosses on Mudasir (you know, just in case Asif didn't emphasize the end enough)

Hey buddy.. I have bad news.. You uh.. Might been color blind. Dem crosses is green.

I was, uh.. paying tribute to the Red polo Tee Mudasir loves so much. I just couldn't leave it out in the cold, I'm not as heartless as Asif, mano.

Salman you lucky bastard

I have to admit, Mudasir knows how to rock his one red polo

Mudasir shouldn't have become Proudy. That'll cause a best friend break up every time.

Salman looks like an Indian Elijah Wood

[–]undercover_blanket 6ポイント7ポイント  (0子コメント)

I was thinking Nathan Fillion.

Salman looks so happy.

This is probably the most embarrassing sub to read as an Indian. Is there similarly embarrassing subs for other races so I can be less embarrassed of my race in comparison?

Oh. This is so good. We need to make this a thing in the west.

Haha that would be hilarious

Haha this is outrageously funny.I have a feeling this gonna make big.Upvote!

[–]Cattoo 4

Re: Mudasir's Comcast shirt

1) How often does Mudasir wear it? Mudasir's wearing it in both X'd out pics 2) How often does Asif take pics of his best friend? Or Mudasir specifically? Were these both taken the same night? Or on different nights? Perhaps Asif was friendliest when Mudasir had his Comcast shirt on. 3) Do both Asif and Mudasir work at Comcast?

Goddamnit mudasir, stop being so selfish

He should first stop being proudy

You done goofed, Mudasir

[–]Loxawo 5

All that I can think is Salman saying: Maaan... Fuck Mudasir!! He's selfish as fuck! Leave him and come have fun with your true BEST FRIEND!...Oh yeah, put it on Facebook to make it official!

Shit. That Salman is one bad motherfucker. I'd dump my best friend for him too.

...wait. I don't have a best friend.

Mudasir is available.

He's not Salman. It's not the same.

I wish my best friend's name was Salmon....

This guy's whole Facebook page is gold.

Why do indian people so often post in english?

Because it has become like a national language of sorts. Cities now have people from all over India... Where every state has its own language. It's safer to use English if you want all your friends to understand what you are trying to say.

Also we like to look cool.

[–]boards_of_siberia 3ポイント4ポイント  (1子コメント)

I think this is hilarious, then I see that it has 130 likes, which is like three times my most liked status ever, and then I just get sad.

I can't tell if it is because we actually feel above them, or if we're just so jaded that we can't live as simply as they do.
