          It isn't, and I disagree with her...

          But....

          There is something to be said for the fact that our economic model allows for ultra-billionaires to exist at all. And that any individual possessing that kind of wealth fundamentally warps our society.

          She's putting the onus on the individuals, whereas I would put it on the system itself, but both she and I would agree that the prevalence and power of ultra-billionaires is destructive, if for nothing else but that it opens the door to the possibility (and currently, the actuality) of rampant political corruption.

          TL;DR: I certainly don't agree with her, but it isn't hard to figure out where she's coming from.

              Honestly though most furries I know who suit out in public love having kids come tell them the costume is awesome and want a picture or whatever.               Eh. I went to anthrocon a couple years back. I'm not a furry but I decided "why the fuck not? This should be an interesting trip down the rabbit hole".

              They had some weirdos, for sure. Perhaps a higher than average concentration of weirdos, relative to most other populations, but to be quite honest they were all very nice people... other than the assholes jumping in the elevator who eventually broke it.

              I wouldn't take my kids to a furry convention. That's kinda "their space" where they feel completely liberated to, say, run up and tackle random people... they have a term for that which I forget [Edit: It's "glomp"]... But I wouldn't have any problems letting my kids take a picture with someone in a full fur suit that I saw at some random location.

                                      Google, in the past 5ish years, has really locked down on removing anything remotely pornographic from it's image searches. So those results are going to be filtered.

                                      Let's do the same experiment on Bing, and turn safe-mode off (beware, you're probably gonna see a dick or a vag, nsfw, yada yada).

                                      With that stuff in place, the results are actually shockingly similar. You get a pretty even distribution of nudity, face shots, and sfw-sexy.

                                                                Most gamers are not fat, socially awkward nerds, but go to a gaming convention and lo and behold. It's a convention, it attracts the people that are most into it and will probably fulfil the stereotype.

                                                                EDIT: To everyone saying that gamers tend to at least leave people alone, or that not all gaming conventions are like that. That's not my point. I'm saying that because it's a convention (and a pretty small, obscure looking one at that) so naturally you're gonna see the more extreme variants. This is applicable to almost anything: Star Wars, anime, games, cars, whatever. Go to one of these conventions and you will see more people that will fulfil the stereotype and are more outspoken about the subject, that does not make them representative for the whole.

Also, the obesity rate in America is 33%, compared to 27% in the UK, 25% in Germany, 27% in Spain, and about the same in other Western countries. In the video that he showed online, it looked like the guy that attacked him did it unprovoked. However, the full video was shown latter and it was not as clear cut as Crowder made it seem (a part was cut where the guy that attacked him was pushed to the ground before the attack. The man then got up, and thinking it was Crowder was the one that pushed him, started to attack Crowder). Granted, the video does not show that Crowder pushed the man (it might have even been an accident), but Crowder used the entire incident to make it look like everyone at the protest was violent. The Young Turks did a story on it in 2012.

I'm against the overreaction of toxic communities like SRS for the same reasons I think this guy is being a huge dick. Regardless of their stances on any of the issues, the thing that this guy and SRS have in common is their tendency towards trying to be incendiary and hateful to the people they disagree with. None of the feminists in the video said anything rash or unreasonable or ugly to the guy, but he feels the need to constantly mock them and then complain about being asked to leave.

                                                                                                                    Why does this guy feel the need to complain about trigger warnings or bathrooms? These things are put there because the people in the community who attend these events like them and feel they provide some peace from a world which frankly is often intolerant and hateful towards them (especially trans people). So why does this guy have to mock and openly make fun of the people at this event for simply doing something that provides them with some peace of mind and added comfort? Nobody in the video was rude or hurtful or inflammatory towards him.

He was mocking them a lot and the women were actually all calm with his questions. Even though I disagree with this convention and a lot of the content in it, the guy's way of going about this could have been a lot better. He basically went in looking to start an argument.
