   a^b * a^(-b) = x * (1/x) =1.

This neglects all the subtlety of complex exponentiation, but dispels the notion that i is at all relevant here.

ix is not the thing that is halfway between x and -x. To get that value, you take xi or x(-i). Everything after that is based on the preceding drivel and is therefore broken, and nearly every single statement made, as far as I can tell, is incorrect even if you take the things before it to be somehow true.
