Still can't tell if we have something to do with it, or if the shifting cultural zeitgeist is why GG went the way it did. Either way, FeelsGoodMan
I think we did. Before us, it was a lot easier to bury complaints of their attitude by cutting it off from a soapbox and labeling it as "bad". And it wasn't on anyone's radar. Ironically, even people who were publicly very anti-GamerGate started complaining about websites pushing agendas. Patton Oswalt is probably the most notorious celebrity who agrees with us in principle but won't acknowledge that because he's convinced we're the baddies. Oh well.
It's fine is they put us down as bad people. They can call us the villains. I don't mind. I'm not here to improve my reputation. I'm here to bring attention to hypocrisy. And so far, we've done a stunning job preventing SJWs from burying theirs and from burying us.
I'm skeptical if South Park and Rick & Morty would be addressing this viewpoint if it wasn't escalated in the media lately, and we're a huge part of that. People will try to undercut our accomplishments, say that all this stuff would have happened anyways. SJWs certainly seem convinced we're impotent and that this sort of thing is a sign of "something that's always been there". All the evils in the world are against them and have existed since of the dawn of time. Oh, and in spite of our impotence, they manage to complain about our existence constantly. And in spite of existing for all time, quite a few of the things they have problems with are symptoms of their own beliefs. They've constructed a bubble where all they love is good and all they hate is bad.
Make no mistake: we've gotten the FCC to crack down on rogue advertising tactics. We've gotten the general public to notice who is complaining, even if they don't consider them powerful nor particularly threatening. The media is slowly becoming recognized as unreliable. Wikipedia continues to be seen as illegitimate in the eyes of librarians and educators everywhere; Academia will never recognize a publication built on tribalism over good editing. We helped oust one bad reddit CEO, founded an alternative to cuckchan, led The Escapist to revamp their entire website and choice in entertainers... this is leaving out all the charity stuff, which is frankly unimportant to the main goal.
We've done a lot and we brought SJWs into the spotlight. And they're struggling without the ability to just cry harassment as a smokebomb and then drop back into the shadows.
