If you are coming to an agreement where you provide items or services of value in exchange for sex, you are engaging in prostitution.

Edit:

OP is so excited about this he seems prepared to ignore what we're telling him. Someone keep an eye out for the update thread when this has gone terribly wrong.

As soon as she establishes residency, she can live there w/o paying rent or living up to your BS agreement and the only resource you'd have would be getting your landlord to evict the both of you.

This is a terrible idea. From just a legal perspective, you're trading free housing/rent for sex, which isn't legal.

From a life perspective, there are so many other things that could go wrong with this idea (girl won't leave at the end of the semester, claims you raped her, blackmails you, etc....).

Ok.......let's ignore the part where this is prostitution. Then let's ignore the part where this is a troll. Let's cut right to "if this were real it's obviously a scam."

So there's a decent looking college student who lost her apartment. She has no parents to call? She doesn't need or want a regular job? No friends who will let her crash on a couch? Then she goes to Starbucks in the middle of the day and fucks a stranger. Then she immediately offers, without prompting, to prostitute herself AND be your maid for a free place to stay. Even though she knows nothing about you?

Why wouldn't she get a job? If she's willing to be a hooker, why not just be a hooker? The pay is solid, and she could probably make more banging strangers than it would cost to get an apartment. Why on earth would she think this is an appropriate subject to broach after the first time she met you? Why would she offer to do the cleaning? I mean, if you're the kind of girl who trades in sex, aren't you smart enough to know you don't need to throw in laundry to close the deal?

Here's some of the realistic options for how this plays out if it's a real thing and you do it:

  • She's a drug addict who starts doing meth in your house and inviting her insane drug addict friends over. It's a nightmare

  • She's crazy and establishes residency (it only takes a few weeks) to force you to let her live there. Then threatens to expose your prostitution if you try to evict her. Or worse, accuses you of rape.

  • She straight up robs you

  • She goes Eileen Wuornos on you.

If someone stays at your place for weeks, he becomes a resident?. Does that mean you can't kick them out.

It's prostitution. If you leave the sex part out, it is a wage violation. You can't trade room and board for housework.

Is this just as much of a "jackpot" as it sounds?

If it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is.

[–]NeilZod 3ポイント4ポイント  (0子コメント)

I think you're right - this is the sort of "jackpot" that is the first 5 minutes of a horror movie.

[–]ritchie70 12ポイント13ポイント  (2子コメント)

Why don't you not be a disgusting pig and let her stay in exchange for housekeeping duties whether you two have sex or not.

She might still fuck you, she might not, but at least you have some decency and dignity about yourself.

The most likely result of this situation by far is that she robs you and disappears. You have stated a number of times that you have plenty of money, so if you're cool with replacing everything of value that you own, then by all means proceed. I'll be waiting with popcorn to read the update!

Well if she robs me I know where she goes to college, her name and what she studies. I also have rental insurance which will pay for most of what she takes, but other than that I could replace everything on a whim. Its not that I have the money to do it, I do have the money but I'm a minimalist and I'm very frugal.

Are you sure the information she provided was accurate, and not part of her hustle?

[–]greenlife173 2ポイント3ポイント  (5子コメント)

That could turn out to be a complicated insurance claim, but whatever. I'm still trying to figure out why you posted here, if your story is true (which I'm pretty sure it's not, but why not play along!) You are not open to having any of your (incorrect but humorous) notions about the legality or risk of this situation challenged. Your pre-conceived conclusion that this is a good decision is unfalsifiable. Therefore, there is no discussion. Thanks for playing!

I wanted to be prepared. Honestly when I was sober and asking, I was always going to make the same choice I just wanted to see some legal minds at work giving me advice at how to protect myself from the clusterfuck that could very well happen. I'm a simple man. I have three vices: money, cars and women, in that order. I knew this was kind of illegal, I knew she might steal my shit or try to get me some some charge. I made this thread so people could advise me on how to protect myself without resorting to absurdly illegal means in order to do so.

[–]Citicop 3ポイント4ポイント  (3子コメント)

This is not the place to do get that advice.

Much like if you want advice on how to legally word a contract so you don't get ripped off by your drug dealer you aren't going to get help here.

You're going to assume some risk if you're going to play games outside the law.

Good luck.

This is going to be a great idea until she steals everything in your house.

[–]Newhousematetoss[S] -3ポイント-2ポイント  (0子コメント)

I've considered it but I do have renters insurance and I don't mean to brag or anything but I could afford to replace everything but one of my cars on a whim.

[–]Brad_Wesley 5ポイント6ポイント  (10子コメント)

Any advice on protecting myself in case of anything crazy happens? Is this just as much of a "jackpot" as it sounds?

Yeah, it never works out that way. Once she is in and clearly established residency she is going to go nuts on you. Don't do this. Just bone her a few more times then tell her that your landlord won't let her stay.

All sorts of messed up man. Enough Reddit for today.

Strange offer from a potential housemate.

Okay so I get approached by this girl at a starbucks and we hit it off pretty well. We go back to my place and we have sex. I learn that she has lost her place to stay near campus and is a non-working student so she is effectively living out of her car. I'm thinking in starbucks the topic of where I lived helped my odds in getting her back to my place. I live maybe 2 miles from campus and a short walk to a bus stop. She will cook, clean, do my laundry, dishes and have sex with me >five times a week, when I have other girls over she stays on the couch, she can't have any house guests over. She wants to stay for the rest of the semester until she can figure something else out. Here is the catch, she can eat my food, she pays no rent/utilities. I'm a minimalist so I don't have much she could even steal if she decides to take all my stuff. I have a nice desk, computer, nice kitchen island, 42inch tv, fridge, oven, washer/dryer set. I spend maybe 40% of my income a month on bills, food, fun, everything else and save/invest the rest so this small increase in food spending looks like the only cost. What do you guys think? Any advice on protecting myself in case of anything crazy happens? Is this just as much of a "jackpot" as it sounds?

This thread and consequent replies from the OP are pretty disgusting. I can't believe someone could speak so matter of factly about someone having to pay their way with their body.

You Sir are a genius, this is basically the dream, congrats.
