Sorry, I know this is a dumb question, but I haven't been following this or the other Marvel shows on Netflix at all, beyond thinking Daredevil was fucking awesome, but Purple Man is going to be in this? That's freaking awesome. And the other two shows are Luke Cage and Iron Fist, right? Is Luke Cage going to be in this show since he's a big part of Jessica's story?

I will say Kingpin is hands down the best Marvel villain so far, and his performance was one of my favorite television performances of all time. Hopefully some of that magic rubs off on The Purple Man. I haven't seen Tennant in anything else as I said elsewhere, so perhaps GoF was simply a fluke for him, and they can add another memorable and amazing villain to the universe, since the films rarely seem to even try to make their bad guys interesting.

David Tennant plays an amazing villain, especially the manipulating and creepy type that The Purple Man is. Check out some scenes from Secret Smile and you'll get the gist of what he can bring to this role.

Probably some combination of:

  • looks sillier on screen than in the comics

  • cuts down on special effects cost

  • wearing thick coloured make-up all the time can be annoying for actors

  • isn't an absolutely necessary part of the character

I think I saw a set photo awhile back that had him wearing mostly purple. I wouldn't be surprised if they played a Kingpin, and have him fully become his alter ego in the finale.

It's a bit silly to have a person completely purple. This gritty marvel universe tends to tone down things of that nature, but I know he'll be wearing a lot of purple.

In my understanging, Luke Cage is actually going to be in the majority of the episodes. The upcomming netflix tv-shows are; - Jessica Jones - Luke Cage - Iron Fist - The Defenders. You can see the whole schedule in the right side of this subreddit.

Don't forget Daredevil season 2! I think for 2016, they'll go DD s2 in the spring, LC in the summer, and then IF around the same time as JJ is in 2015 so like late fall. However if JJ gets a season 2, it can go JJ s2 early Fall and IF late fall.

Yup, he's the big bad in this one. Iron fist was set up a little in Daredevil and Luke Cage is going to be in Jessica Jones before starring in his own series.

I personally think that they'll have all of them in the second season of Daredevil as Matt's bodyguards, and then all together for the Defenders series.

Ms. Marvel would have been a lovely secret addition. You don't even have to call her Ms. Marvel, just have her go by Carol. Have a quick cameo during a lunch scene or something and move on.

She's not cast yet, so no dice, but it would have been an awesome connection now and for the future movie.

Daytime tends to be lighter than night time, which Daredevil seemed to have a lot of. Even some of the outside scenes, if I recall seemed to take place at dusk or be overcast, apart from Matt and Stick out in the park.

A lot of the early promo pics for Daredevil were the ones during the day, IIRC. Matt walking down the street with his cane, Fisk talking with Gao, etc.
