Why not kust sticky the AMA? Removing all the top posts is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard.

A sticky will not show up on /r/all or the front page, resulting in less traffic. Something is fishy here . . . definitely manipulation.

I have alerted the CEO.

Now the admins have no excuse to not answer.

The mod who did it should have to answer. Really, why not just sticky the post?

[–]AssuredlyAThrowAwayworldnews&conspiracy emeritus 5

They did it as a mod team probably.

Thinking it was okay.

Reddit mods will do shady shit until you stop them.

Thank you for stopping them.

Thank you for stopping them.

How is this thread stopping them?

Yeah, it's not going to stop them. But hopefully someone will call them out on this shit / make one of the mods answer.

The Porn Habits post was just put back into place and has taken over the AMA as #1. The post that was #1 is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/undelete/comments/3l1q4l/63832284_how_countries_spend_their_money/

Edit: Porn Habits post was just removed. Anything getting remotely close to taking over the AMA as #1 is being removed. https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/3l18vt/the_porn_habits_of_console_gamers/

So, that's blatant vote manipulation by the mods, right?

More like straight up POST manipulation. That's so much worse.

[–]AssuredlyAThrowAwayworldnews&conspiracy emeritus 6

go damn it /u/kn0thing.

Stand the fuck up and stop this shit.

[–]AssuredlyAThrowAwayworldnews&conspiracy emeritus 16

/u/spez

mods of that sub just manipulated the organic curation of content to promote an ama.

Stand up and say something bro!

What the fuck are you here for if not to say something right here, right now?

Killen' me man. Say something!

To be not Ellen Pao.

3/10; partially correct.

He's here because Yishan and Alexis worked with Sam to kick out codne nasty by artificially creating a "leadership crises" imo.

It was smart. But It wasn't noble imo, because their ends are bad imo.

Conde Nast was never your friend either. And they'd do the same to monetize a media property. The problem is one of values and vision. Make Reddit a nonprofit and have it run by professional editors and journalists and there'd be a shot at creating the type of site you want. But as long as it remains for profit run by a marketing dweeb, lawyers, and PR flaks, this site will remain an ethical black hole. And you can't change that.

[–]AssuredlyAThrowAwayworldnews&conspiracy emeritus 0

Of course codne nasty was not our ally-they caused sears fax fiasco, yea?

But by the same token, removing them only so they didnt have to be "cut in" is fucked.

Whether or not the company wants to change, public opinion will drive this site.

Welp. Guess more drama had to start sometime.

Was there drama before?

I'm talking about general large dramabombs, like site wide fiascos. We haven't had one this week, so I was like, well alrighty then it begins again.

Removing all-time top posts doesn't affect a current post's ranking on /r/all, to the best of my knowledge. This could only mislead people who are browsing /r/dataisbeautiful/top, and how many people do that, honestly.

I don't think it's all time, I think they mean from the last 24ish hours.

[–]AssuredlyAThrowAwayworldnews&conspiracy emeritus 4

This.

They tried to manipulate the "hot" tab to alter a submissions standing in /r/all.

They are so fucked.

That is, if spez has any integrity left.

:)

Luv you spez, always be mine bbhh

Oh, yeah, that would do it.

And how sleazy, if true.
