Many American player have been wanting new P-38s for ages. Don't group the whole player base into one group of like minded people. I personally think Germany is doing fine for plane content and that Japan could really use some tier 4 loving (A7M, Ki-83, Ki-87 and Ki-94-II pls).

The OP thinks that the "playerbase" means "Germany."

As an American pilot who barely hit tier 3, I wanted p-38s for some time now. I think they are unique and great fighters.

The Do 335 is on my wishlist, but so is the P-38. This looks like more stuff for Germany tier IV/V

Ehh... Why would I want silly paper planes? Just look at the Ho 229. Flies like a friggin' UFO, there doesn't even exist accurate specifications for it, even less a chance for Gaijin to give it a believable flight model.

No thanks. Screw all imaginary/barely-even-prototype crap. Keep it for yourself.

EDIT: I'm still waiting for actual war participant planes like more P-40s, P-38s, P-47s, P-51s, a whole bunch of Jap planes, low-altitude and clipped-wing variants of Spitfires, getting those bloody bomber/attacker cockpits before 2025, more Jabo-variants of German planes. And that's just the planes.

3 of those existed, two of them are production planes, the Ju 287 still has enough information to make a fairly accurate plane

Still. There are enormous gaps in planes that actually did fly in more than some single-digit number (and of those single-digit numbers 99% were prototypes), and same for tanks.

It'd also make more sense to have prototypes for things that were accepted, rather than prototypes that were rejected, or that were abandoned before selection could be made (financial/political reasons, end of war, etc)

There's so incredibly much weird crap in WT that it soon makes IL-2 1946 look like a documentary on actual war planes.

Ah yes, IL-2 which has two Do-335s, the Ho-229, three He-162s, four 262s, a Ta-183, Bf-109Z, the Lerche III
There's two things off the top of my head that would count as "weird crap"
Which IL-2 has both of, the I-185 and the Ho-229

What players want

late-war German plane, late-war German plane, late-war German plane, late-war German plane

What they get

2 German tanks, another overpriced premium with rockets and some long-awaited low-mid-tier American plane variants.

Fuck you OP, there's plenty of reasons for this. One, they don't want to favor any one country with any update, they want to give everyone a little something. Two, there are some countries US that have plenty of planes missing from their air tree, and some that don't even really belong P-63 and plenty of variants that players want to see, like P-38 variants, and I'm waiting for more P-40s myself. Third, some countries Japan and Germany lost certain wars and had a lot of crazy prototypes that might not be easy to implement realistically, as flight data is limited. Fourth, tank trees need more vehicles to help flesh them out for a number of reasons, including game balance.

What I don't get is why they create all of these devblogs for new vehicles, is it just for hype? We've seen British tanks, the P38's, the Hunter & Yak, T92, Pe-8, another 2 rocket tanks and now the Do's from yesterday.

What are they actually working on?

A majority of the playerbase only cares about vehicles. Showing off vehicles, especially wanted ones such as the Hunter, get people excited for the game. They then play the game more and may buy GE to get the new vehicles faster.
