Check out /r/movies, or /r/netflix, or /r/netflixbestof. I'm having issues with stuff, so my choices are limited, that said:

  • Burn After Reading -- a unique modern comedy that people tend to love or hate
  • Dawn of the Dead -- a great pseudo-horror movie (there are two versions)
  • Falling Down -- a great story concerning about how life is meaningless and yet all that means
  • John Q -- a fantastic movie about what morals are
  • The Usual Suspects -- what do we think?
  • The Shining -- a total classic
  • The Other Guys -- a modern comedy
  • The Cabin in the Woods -- a horror movie, but also a parody of horror movies
  • Hot Shots -- a comedy along the lines of the Naked Gun lines

Citizen Kane

Duck Soup

Fury Road

Primer or Upstream Color

Black Death

The World's End

(I don't know how the Matrix was relevant aside from it's effects... those are just all excellent movies)
