Except that it clearly is political. If i google Dokdo 4 of the first 5 results are directly related to the political controversy and the other is the wiki article about it which includes a section entitled 'soverignty dispute'.

Are you going to tell me that the corp is founded by/primarily composed of members who live on the island? Are you supporters of the local football team? I doubt it. The name wasn't chosen because of the beautiful scenery or an enthusiasm for it's fishing opportunities, it was chosen because it is a politically charged topic.

Also it's one thing to name a corp and another to spam in local. We could start a corp named 'Gaza strip poker' and people might laugh, but you've got to be aware that if you start spamming 'Gaza strip' in local that could easily be taken as political.

If it's truely not about the politics then why the uproar? If it's not about the politics then find something else to spam in local that celebrates your corp without referencing political disputes. Or admit that there might be a political element there and deal with the consequences.

As a side note, I would join a corp called Gaza Strip Poker.
