It would be very easy to fake such a screenshot. Until other cast members with first hand witness start speaking on this matter, this is a rumor.

I don't believe this. But even if it happened it seems like Shane would have been the one who cheated, not Jeff and ej

Except if Jeff and EJ were profiting off of Shane's theft and enjoying the food he stole, that would be cheating on the challenge to only survive on what they could scavenge and hunt.

I mean I think this argument is Irrelevant. But I think that finding did that Shane hypothetically stole wouldn't be chatting, it would be scavenging for resources. If they found a jar of peanut butter if hope they're share with everyone but it's still scavenging.

The only one who would have broken the rules imo is Shane. But I don't think he did that cuz everyone was pretty deleted of energy at the end

[–]ragnaROCKERmostly naked and partially afraid

Check out Russell's twitter. Dude is obviously just starting shit.

Total agreement with you, ragna.

This is about the lowest way you can do it, too.

Again, for anyone who's conveniently forgotten that this is a show where Alana herself states that the crew is so close to them that they scare away the animals they're trying to hunt and are a basic pain in the ass--that these people would have stood around like idiots, passively filming Shane sexually harassing women.

The psych evals alone that you have to pass on a 'regular' reality tv are astounding. If anyone seriously believes that they wouldn't take extra precautions on a show where people are frigging naked and therefore more vulnerable, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Shane may appear to be a neuroatypical guy, but to jump from that to spreading rumors like this is really vile.

And yet, on the reunion show, they showed that Honora apparently requires a service animal and they don't just give those out to anyone. If they'd let her on the show despite needing that level of care, I can see them letting an unbalanced psychopath like Shane on easily.

So, which member of the cast is this? I don't think Shane is a psychopath. You're escalating things rather quickly, aren't you?

If anything, your weird singlemindedness is causing me to think that you may be having some troubles and I'd rather not speak with someone who doesn't have both feet planted firmly on the ground.

Have a great day.

[–]ragnaROCKERmostly naked and partially afraid

i would guess russell. he has been spamming this shit everywhere.

I think if anyone would be a harasser it would be Chris.

That makes way more sense to me. He was a total douche and looking to hook up on his episode IIRC. Nice name, haha!

Interesting. But without any kind of proof it is just a pic on the internet, you know?

This is a load of horseshit. Impossible for the crew not to discover this.

I find the timing of all of this really strange. For the past couple weeks everyone has been saying how editing is all that made them look bad, and then a few days ago Jeff posted that he felt everyone's depictions were accurate, that those who appeared mean were mean, and that he and EJ and Shane really did work harder than the rest.

Now this screenshot appears that attacks the idea of them working harder specifically, and you have people who were not there at all backing the claim, as well as a couple people who currently have the worst reputations.

I am noticing that a lot of the backing up of the claims seems to be coming from Dani B or people she is close with? And from what I've read, she seems to be very unable to handle criticism. People here were saying she deletes every negative comment left on her facebook, and she was one of the biggest "it's all editing!!!" proponents. And (full disclosure, not my proudest moment) I tweeted at her and Alana that they were "Regina Georges of the jungle" after the Dani J episode, and I just followed a link to her twitter someone posted here, it looks like she blocked me. That shows someone who cannot handle any negative attention at all.

I think Dani B really patterns her whole identity around this perception of herself as super nice, gooey sweet, and oh-so-compassionate, and I am wondering if, with so many people currently thinking she is terrible, that she is having a major internal freak out, and that either she or just those who really like her are spreading stuff in a misguided attempt to vindicate the way the public is currently perceiving her and a couple others.

In any event, I'm ready for Naked and Afraid to go back to just being a good, straight up survival show.

It seems to me that the production crew were not within walking distance of the camp sites. Remember Shane leaving on the bed of a truck and complaining about this bony butt. How would he have got the food back to Piranha Lake, and let them (and not the other 6) know where it was hidden? It seems too implausible!

The crew is always within walking distance in case of medical emergency.

I think the emergency staff is close at all times, the truck was probably to bring him back to a hotel to clean up and fly home. I bet since the 20 man crew is likely to co dime a lot of food they had a few crates around so the crew could snack up and keep working the ought the shoot.

I don't believe this. I could believe if every now and then the crew gave some cast members a bite to eat so they don't tap out, but how do you lose 70 pounds if you're gorging on peanut butter and Oreos? And where was all that food? And look at the source... Shane is admittedly unstable, Honora is certifiably insane (today on Facebook she is doing a Q&A on how NA is a science experiment on humans and that they withheld medication, etc) . Honestly I think it is more likely that this "leak" is manufactured to keep people talking about the show.

So ej lost over 70 pounds on peanut butter and oreos? Seems legit.

It's a very popular diet these days. Hell, Shane had to tap out because of all those life-sustaining oreos!

Everyone knows that production gives them food but honestly, this is the least surprising or shocking thing about the show. They also plant items and animals for them to catch. As well as take it away; witness the magical escaping turtle!

If Russell Sage is in a relationship with Alana, I would not trust his allegation at all.

Personally, i'd give some credibility to Shane saying something like that for shits and giggles to make someone laugh, but no credibility to saying that it actually happened. I did see it posted somewhere else and the circle around shanes picture was a box which makes me think even moreso that it was fabricated though, but overall, i think it was probably just a jest if it was real at all.

So, /user/TheRogueRadical.

Which cast member are we actually speaking to here, with your six post reddit history, all saying that Shane stole food?

Honora? or Alana? or hell, even Chris? Please stop, you are embarrassing yourself.

You're coming off as...well...let's say not looking too trustworthy either.

That's a fair point and I'd think the same thing. But no. I'm not one of the survivalists. From what I've seen neither Honora or Chris would be particularly shy about proclaiming who they are. And Alana doesn't seem to be all that active on-line.

The truth is I'm brand new to reedit and I just migrated here from other discussion sites where you can't say a positive thing about any of the female cast of NAXL without getting a Jesus saves lecture from a Disciple of Shane. I'd hoped to find actual discussion on here and so far I'm glad to see that most of it has been civil.

So just to be clear, you don't think this is an appropriate discussion for this subreddit?

Or are you disputing that Russell Sage, Honora, Dani B, and Charlie Frattini are all making/supporting this claim?

I'd just like to understand why you think this matters.

I think it's an idiotic discussion because there's no way in hell anyone was raped during the filming of the show, and I don't think this discussion is even worthwhile. It started out being about theft of food and has now morphed into rape allegations. I find that to be a joke, especially when we consider the conditions under which this alleged rape or sexual misconduct took place--surrounded by cameras and crews 24/7. This isn't a college campus where you can say someone looked at you inappropriately and everyone believes you, and you get your vaunted victim status. In the real world, you need proof, and there would be pounds of it because this supposed harassment would be all over a lot of footage.

I find it predictable and stupid that this morning, the initial claim was a suggestion of possible sexual harassment and is now very definitely about a 'sexual crime' and Dani B as a victim of 'rape trauma syndrome'. This is a joke.

I love how everyone has suddenly forgotten that this is a reality show, where there are cameras present constantly. There would be masses of footage if something fucked up had happened and I know this because I worked on The Real World for years--where fucked up things did happen, and you know how we knew? because it was on about ten different cameras--as well as a number of other Bunim/Murray reality shows.

A lot of people here are talking out their asses about something they know nothing about (i.e. how a reality show is shot and run) because of some idiotball rape narrative that everyone wants to run with because that's the first world cause du jour.

Have fun with that. I'm not interested.

Hey, that's kind of funny!

Because from my perspective, the only person in this subreddit steering conversation away from the question of whether or not Jeff and EJ benefited from a secret junkfood stash has been you!

Who cares if they ate junk food?

I can't think of anyone who's ever watched this show and not said something along the lines of "Hey! Production tosses them power bars once in a while to keep them around!"

Apparently you do because the comment I was initially responding to said this:

So, /user/TheRogueRadical.

Which cast member are we actually speaking to here, with your six post reddit history, all saying that Shane stole food?

Honora? or Alana? or hell, even Chris? Please stop, you are embarrassing yourself.

You're coming off as...well...let's say not looking too trustworthy either.

That's what I was commenting on. Do you remember that? Perhaps you blacked out or were possessed by a rape demon and this is why you randomly start talking about sexual harassment every time the topic arises. Maybe you have a doppelganger?

But I'm glad you agree that maybe they cheated. It kind of seems like a lot of people care and lot of public figures related to the show are commenting on it, so I'm not sure your appraisal of general interest in this topic is accurate. HTH.

Whatever, dude. The reason I brought up rape is because bitchycunt3 started to use phrases like 'sexual crime' and 'rape victim syndrome' when all that had been said was someone harassed someone else.

In case you didn't notice, there are a significant number of people discussing the always-popular topic of victimhood on the board now that it's been splashed all over both Honora's FB and this subreddit all day long.

Perhaps your stolen food tulpa is causing you to lash out?

Btw? My personal rape demon is coming to your house tonight. She needs a break from my husband. Hope you enjoy her!

Yeah, they just didn't notice all that stuff missing.

Shane should have ate some of that food. He might have made it to the end.

https://twitter.com/daniBeauDrill/status/638395318015553536

Drop the crap and walk away from the board, Honora.

sorry if i posted this wrong, i wanted the actual link instead of screenshotting it.

I wanted to thank you for posting this; it was interesting enough to me that it made me go and read Honora's Q&A.

Now more than ever before, I doubt that Shane was guilty of anything other than stealing food. Honora says in her Q&A that she would be happy to do a show with Shane, Dani J, and Hakim. That's a pretty big vote of confidence and support coming from a woman towards a guy who's being called a rapist on this board.

Thanks for the link. The person who was supposedly sexually harassed needs to get the footage from Discovery--who will, by the way, be very compliant with any such request since they are not interested in a criminal (Discovery would be responsible for not protecting talent since they would have known the harassment was happening. Talent on the show are constantly surrounded by cameras and the act would have in all likelihood have been filmed from not one but a few angles) or civil (give me money Discovery, someone looked at me funny and I didn't like it or him and I'm getting roasted on social media, again there will be footage that a jury can look at and make up its mind about in re: whether harassment occurred) suit.

If someone is alleging that a crime was committed they should take said footage and go to the cops with it. They should go to the cops regardless.

its hard to say if the sexual harassment was criminal or not, it could have simply been a snide remark which we know everyone in that situation would be capable of doing if they are starved and frustrated, or as simple as saying nice ass, so i wouldn't put any stock in it until someone actually comes forward and says what it was, and so far no one has suggested that it was sexual assault which leads it more to being verbal in nature rather than physical.

Man that is fake as can be...

According to Russell Sage (from the season 1 finale), this is true and Shane sexually harassed female contestants. Also confirmed by Honora, but I think Russell's name holds a little more credit

Yeah, I posted about this in another thread about an hour or so back but my take on this is as follows:

Russell Sage (on the show in s1), who seems to be Alana's bf, is passing his own version of the text where it shows what you've linked to here, but he goes on to add that Shane is a sexual predator. You can see that version posted on Honora's page.

I smell bullshit, mainly because there are crews crawling all over those people constantly. How are they going to miss something like sexual harassment? Also, it's a really good way for Discovery to get their asses sued and lose a lot of money. There is not a contract in the world that says you can give up your right to freedom from criminal acts being performed on your person, or something like this. When I worked for Bunim/Murray, there was no fucking way we would have been allowed, whether in production or post, to let that kind of thing slide had we seen it--not out of the goodness of their hearts, but because of the aforementioned lawsuits and liabilities.

I'm not even sure I buy the food theft story. Why would Shane have basically allowed himself to starve to death if he had all this food sitting around? Why would EJ, who lost over seventy pounds?

Although, it might make sense in explaining why Chris thought his team was going to be vindicated on air tonight. I thought he came over as much of a mega-asshole as he ever was on the show, but maybe he had seen an alternate cut of the reunion.

It's interesting, but I don't think I buy any of it. The addition of the sexual predation stuff just put it in the realm of utter nonsense for me. That would have and should have come out immediately i.e. long before this, and is, I think, a reaction to the sheer amount of shit Alana is catching on social media for being such a fucking nasty person. They're trying to gin up sympathy for her.

Yeah. I mean, what is the point of talking about this now as opposed to when it happened?

Alana's friend or partner or whatever the hell he is should have said something about this a long time ago. Why did it only come out now, when they all look like shit on the reunion.

Personally, I'd be far more curious to know what "should I wash my hair :smirk:" actually meant.

There aren't production crews there at night, Shane could have harassed them then.

Charlie frattini has also confirmed the harassment story and he did not seem like the type of person who would confirm if it weren't true.

Neither alana nor dani have talked about it, likely because being in the spotlight of sexual harassment allegations would make people treat them even worse. Plenty of people would assume they're false accusations and love Shane even more for it/hate them even more for it.

Honestly a lot of their behavior makes sense under the context of Shane sexually harassing them. His behavior also makes sense under that context.

Why is there a picture of Dani B hugging Shane in NYC after shooting wrapped then? Go manufacture your drama somewhere else.

Because victims of sexual crimes often experience a lot of empathy, self blame, etc. for their abusers and themselves and often find it very difficult to cut ties with them completely if they were a friend or acquaintance. One of the first stages of rape trauma syndrome is minimization or pretending like everything is fine and nothing happened. This includes the victim remaining friendly with the assailant fairly often.

You just bumped it up from harassment to rape... there is just no way.

CHURDT that's why this whole discussion is ludicrous and frankly disgusting. There is a whisper of a whisper of telephone going on here, with the initial statement being that Shane stole food and how this was supposed to reflect poorly on Team Alpha even though EJ came out of there looking like a skeleton.

And oh, by the way, Shane might have harassed one of the women. Who wasn't even named, but hell, let's just start accusing him of rape, screw proof. In 24 hours we went from a throwaway on a text screencap to posters full on accusing him of rape.

People who treat rape this way minimize it for women who've actually been harmed and I resent the hell out of it.

I was talking about victims of sexually based crimes. I didn't say he raped her, fuck I haven't even said he harassed her. I was using an example of a common, well documented reaction to a sexually based crime to show that Dani's actions were entirely within the realm of possibilities for someone who has experienced a sexually based crime.

The likelihood of minimization occurring would probably be even greater for sexual harassment versus sexual assault.

Then why use the word? You are aware that Dani B has said she was not the victim of any harassment, right?

Maybe you need to go back and check through the thread.

Because I was discussing the reactions specific to rape trauma syndrome.

Yes, I'm aware of that now, but she did say someone else was. Likely Alana. And she only said that two hours ago and I originally posted this 18 hours ago.

Also can you stop responding to every one of my posts every time you have something new to say? Just say it on one post so that I can respond to one post. I've been downvoted too much in this sub to post without a break in between each post.

Why would this nameless victim of Shane's alleged he-looked-at-me-wrong not walk up to the crew that is standing in front of them, getting in the way while they try to catch food, and say something about this?

Because, again, victims of sexual crimes tend to minimize or attempt to ignore the issue.

Now that you know Dani has said she was not harassed, what do you think caused this "extreme personality change"? Hunger is my guess, but I'm sure that throwing 'sexual assault' and 'rape' around is so much juicier and more interesting to gossip about.

Witnessing sexual harassment could also cause a personality change. She grew to trust her 21 day partner quite a bit, but probably felt unsafe around whoever sexually harassed another contestant. Also, I think she was probably also hungry during her 21 day challenge.

You know, bitchycunt, I'll respond to something if it grabs my attention.

Don't tell me how or when to post and expect me to pay any attention to you. Thanks!

This morning it was a suggestion of possible sexual harassment but I see you've already made the eminently sensible leap to sexual crime and rape. Are you kidding me?

When was Shane tried? When did the footage come out? I must have missed all this.

As I just posted in response to another comment...

There are crews there at night.

I don't think Alana and Dani's behavior makes sense if you consider the sexual harassment possibility. I think they would have been the ones to initiate the separation and make sure they moved their camp far away from Shane. No woman would sleep naked in the company of an untrustworthy male.

Actually, it's fairly common for victims of sexual harassment, assault, etc to take time to separate from their harrasser. In a survival situation I imagine that instinct to emphasise with your abuser would be even stronger.

If the allegations are true, it seems to me like dani received the grunt of the harassment. She had a pretty extreme personality change from her 21 day challenge to her 40 day challenge.

Except Dani B has said she was not harassed. Again.

Why would this nameless victim of Shane's alleged he-looked-at-me-wrong not walk up to the crew that is standing in front of them, getting in the way while they try to catch food, and say something about this?

I hope you'll answer this because I'm not sure you realize how ridiculous the scenario you're positing sounds. They are surrounded by crews. Surrounded. It is not a real survival situation. Via editing, choice of talent, and general topics given to them for each day, there is a storyline. They are never alone.

Now that you know Dani has said she was not harassed, what do you think caused this "extreme personality change"? Hunger is my guess, but I'm sure that throwing 'sexual assault' and 'rape' around is so much juicier and more interesting to gossip about.

Why do all of you think it was Shane who did this. My money would be on Chris.

He's certainly the assiest.

Reality tv 'stars' don't seem like the kind of people who like to keep those fifteen minutes of fame running? That's an interesting perspective.

There are always crews around, no matter what, and most definitely at night in case of medical emergency. Do you think Discovery wants to lose a civil suit because they were not protecting the talent?

How many reality shows have you crewed that you know so much about how all this works?

None, but I thought I had read on a Q&A that it's a pretty bare crew at night and you don't really see them and they don't really see you.

I have, however, worked with sexual assault victims for the past seven years, which is why I've been commenting much more from that perspective.

, who seems to be Alana's bf, is passing his own version of the text where it shows what you've linked to here, but he goes on to add that Shane is a sexual predator. You can see that version posted on Honora's page.

Actually, according to Russell's recent tweets, Alana dumped him. Which begs the question of why he's going to bat for her if he doesn't think there's some truth to this and he's honestly the straight-shooter he seemed to be on his episodes.

FYI: Charlie Frattini, Dani Beau's partner on her first challenge, is sharing the charges and images on Twitter now. And again, I'm more inclined to believe him than Honora or Russell because he too seemed like a straight shooter and he has the benefit of not being mentally unstable or having ever been romantically involved with anyone involved in this.

I'm more inclined to believe the sexual harassment story than I am food stealing thing. Shane sexually harassed his partner in his first challenge, with a lot of awkward flirty talk and all of his BS about women not being able to survive without a man and people under 30 being useless.

His behavior in the early NAXL episodes was the standard "nice guy" tactic of doing things in the hope that the women will think "Wow. He is a good guy who does things for me. I should bounce up and down on his dick to reward him!" When that didn't work, he turned hostile and fell back into his true wannabe macho "Women are all bitches' attitude. (i.e. when he left to survive on his own)

Ask yourselves this - wouldn't a lot of Alana and Dani's attitude toward Shane be explained if the editors had cut out all of his insulting and disrespectful behavior toward the two of them in the first two weeks?

As for the crew stopping sexual harassment, they aren't there all the time and sexual predators are very cunning about cornering their prey when they are alone and there's no one to contradict their story. They'd probably only take action in the event of an actual physical assault.

Come to think of it, given that they wouldn't evacuate Eva to a hospital when she required sutures unless she tapped out, I can easily see the producers - with this series emphasis on drama - telling the women that if it bothered them that much, they could quit.

As for why none of the women involved in the some have come forward themselves with any of this, except Honora, I imagine they're probably under some kind of non-disclosure agreement regarding what happened behind the scenes.

It's telling though that most of the people defending Jeff on Twitter are attacking the possibility that someone violated the NDA rather than the idea that Shane was a sexual predator or that Team Alpha Male cheated.

I don't know why Charlie Frattini is automatically being granted this blanket credibility. He has skin in the game too. Having spent 21 days with DaniB and being the type of guy he is, he's gonna do everything in his power to get her back. This includes vilifying the "hero" to DaniB's "villain".

As far a being a straight shooter and mentally stable, that's debatable too. If you check his interview on the Survival Channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhHoiedtVH8), you get a peek into his mental stability. I refer specifically to his civil unrest and Y2K anecdotes which suggest that he may literally be a straight shooter.

I'm not saying that this has any correlation to credibility, but it does speak to his character and worldview. And more importantly, it changes the image I had of him coming off the show. (I might have found that Charlie the "voice of reason".)

As for this he-said, she-said, I don't know whom to believe. I wasn't there... But curiously enough, neither was Charlie. He's obviously relying on what DaniB (or Alana or even Russell) told him. Or maybe he's not relying on any of that at all. As far as what would motivate him to do what he's doing, I can't say I understand the mindset of a person who thinks the way he thinks.

The only person Charlie Frattini is yammering about is Jeff, and demanding an apology from Jeff. https://twitter.com/ChasFrattini

???

I think Charlie needs to check and make sure his gf doesn't have his twitter login. This isn't even a tempest, it's a whole lot of nothing in a teapot.

Ok, I'm barely following what's going on here, but I can say for sure... I just read through those tweets you posted from this guy Charlie I know one thing for sure and that is that he need to stop his crying and move on.

I'm sorry but the assumptions you're making about production not being aware of or the first ones to be seeing this are frankly incorrect, as is your unspoken notion that Discovery would somehow want to be a part of a civil or criminal lawsuit.

An editor is not going to sit there and snip away all evidence of predation, and the crew--who we know are in their faces 24/7 according to Alana herself on that recent podcast, down to their being in the way while they are trying to catch food--are not going to stand around like dullards while some guy threatens them sexually.

It doesn't work that way.

People using twitter may be the court of public opinion, but 99.9% of them have never worked on a set, nor are they the people I go to for any sort of calm or thought out discussion. They are the people you go to when you want to whip others up into a frenzy. I'll pass.

Chris, Dani B, and Alana all came out looking like very cruel people last night. Their friends are doing damage control in a very fucked up way.

Let me repeat this for you: no production company will allow this sort of thing to happen unless they want lawsuits. Lawsuits cost you money. If there were sexual misconduct taking place, it would have been extremely obvious to the crew who are never more than a stone's throw away. They would have had to step in. They didn't, and there is no footage of anything like this at all.

There is no NDA in the world that protects a production company against any type of sexual misconduct taking place on their sets. You cannot be forced to keep your mouth shut if you have been harmed.

"I can easily see the producers - with this series emphasis on drama - telling the women that if it bothered them that much, they could quit." This is the silliest theory I've read on reddit in a while, and you might realize that if you had ever worked on a shoot in any capacity.

If you think a neuroatypical guy being awkwardly flirty is somehow threatening, I don't know what to say to you other than I have a knee, and he has nuts. End of.
