  • Winston Wolfe Reunion show was pretty fucking interesting... Why the hell couldn't Chris and Luke have had the balls to be a little bit conciliatory toward you and apologize for the poor communication, for treating you in a condescending fashion and making you feel marginalized? Eva's apology to Dani Julien was moving and seemed sincere, and Dani seemed to really appreciate it. Alana's gesture to Shane was also kind-hearted and I think Shane seemed to appreciate it. It takes so little in an atmosphere like that to offer a kind human gesture to another person who you know, regardless of what the circumstances were, was injured by something you did/said. I'm still kind of astonished that neither Luke nor Chris was man enough to offer you a simple gesture of kindness through an apology. Were they just cold and short with you during the reunion gathering? That must have been creepy uncomfortable. Did you catch Chris checking you out at all?

  • Winston Wolfe Why single, Honora...? You're gorgeous, adventurous, and interesting to talk to. How do you manage NOT to be in a romantic relationship? When you are in a place in your life where you're open to getting involved, do you prefer men or women as romantic partners? Last question, did you get to know Dani Julien at all during the filming of the reunion show (when was that, by the way)?

    • Honora Bowen I was a serial-dater for a while and realized that I can accomplish more of my life goals on my own than with a partner. I'd like to find someone someday but I really want to be in a good financial place prior to doing that. It's too stressful when two people are struggling financially, or one person depends on the other like that. Statistics back up this point in regards to relationships lasting and marriages ending in divorce and such.

      I talked to Dani J once or something before the reunion. I'd love to get to know her better, because we seem to know a lot of the same people and have similar hobbies and such.

      My first lover was a woman, but I am primarily heterosexual.

    • Honora Bowen There was a lot more that happened than what you saw. I tried tapping for medical reasons the day before the argument. The medics came and woke us up to check me out. Then they left to get me antibiotics and I was laying down. Luke sat there for about 15 minutes, telling me to get up. What you saw cut out all of that and just showed the last thing he said prior to me responding

    • Honora Bowen I have had some organ issues since the first episode, which were starting to arise prior to going to Colombia. My doctor wrote me a prescription for salt and another supplement for me because of my previous experience with hyponatremia ( I tapped in Brazil due to low electrolytes, not heat stroke or heat exhaustion).

      One of the exec producers and two head producers came into my hotel room a couple days prior to filming, and said they could not honor the note because it would be "unfair" to the other contestants.

      They gave me an ultimatum: go home, or do it without my prescription

      On day1, I found out that one of my two partners had two bottles of homemade tincture with herbs, fish oil, and high-grade alcohol that he was allowed to self-medicate with at-will.

      My other partner said one of the female contestants was allowed to take B-vitamins.

    • Honora Bowen lol, you're a 10, mike, of course! and as far as armpit hair goes, your body stops making excess hair in a starvation scenario because it is using its enzymes for more important bodily processes.

    • Honora Bowen I think I would have gone home when they told me I couldn't have my prescription supplements. Doing the show after they overrode a doctor's note put me in a spot of feeling like I couldn't trust production. When I found out other people were getting supplements, it just made the whole thing feel like a set-up

  • Amber Nicole Norton Why do you refuse to answer whether or not your dog is a service dog? She wears a vest. Unless you just pretend she is so you can get her on flight and in dog restricted places without hassle. Or She is an Emotional support animal who still isn't allowed on flights or in public places.

  • Donald Whitman I am not making this up: during the run of N&A XL I happened to have purchased two archtop electric - acoustic guitars. I always give nicknames to my guitars, and as I was contemplating naming these two the old light bulb went off. I named them after my two favorite survivalists on XL.... Honora Bowen and Dani Julien both of whom deserved far better from their survival partners and even the producers than they were dealt. So meet the guitar named in honor of Honora. I think the supple curves, the all-natural finish and the amber tones make for a perfect match! I can't post the pic here but its on my Facebook page.

    • Honora Bowen yes. he didn't know my name until day 6. he kept calling me "Corinne." Both the guys kept using the vines I was chopping without asking, so that I couldn't make a fish basket until day 4, after collecting about 100 vines. It wasn't a big deal, but then they were telling me I needed to make a fish basket.

      Chris also said I was being paranoid about being careful around the river at night. I said the anaconda are ambush predators and he was like "a real survivalist wouldn't be careful"

  • Chris Plunkett I'm interested in hearing more about the medications if you don't mind. My perception is that you are alluding to some contestants being drugged, and others needed drugs withheld. While I know malarone can cause lucid dreams calling it the "nightmare drug" seems a bit much (my perception). Just wondering if you could offer more of an explanation. Thanks for the Q&A

    • Honora Bowen Hey Chris! I mentioned a lot of these answers in a response above. Malarone is nicknamed the nightmare drug because for a lot of people, it causes intense hallucinations and nightmares, as well as emotional reactions. It's not supposed to be taken by people with any history of kidney problems, like me, because it filters through the kidneys

    • Honora Bowen I think I made a comment at the reunion about humans cannibalizing each other. It seems like humans do that when in stressful situations, as a form of self-preservation. I definitely do see some similarities to how she and I were treated. I don't know of any reasons why she would have been accused of lying.

I wanted another chance at it, and I had a deep-seated fear of the network continuing to re-edit footage of me in a negative light because I was pissed. So I thought it was a good idea. But, that feeling in the pit of my stomach that maybe it wasn't a good idea was always there

Loved the reunion show, but would have made it perfect for me? Chris apologizing for telling you to "tap out". No committed partner would EVER tell a partner to do that.Don't get me wrong, I like Chris Fischer, and I think his response was honest, and reflected who he was at the time, but I hope that he'd make a different choice if faced with that decision again.
