As much as I want to side with the angry people whose content they feel is being "stolen". Fact is I would never see any of this stuff without NoobFromUA, I would just have tons of clips from creators with no idea if they are worth watching.

He means in the sense that many studios and streamers would not bother to sieve through their content or big games. For example, a game like this one would probably just be uploaded in full. At best there would be a single highlight clip of one particular play uploaded but NoobfromUA is the only guy who bothers to cut down the entire game into easily digestable clips like that and skip all the shitty farming and snoozefests.

Pretty much this. I am not going to watch every single game studios post(and they post tons of crap videos along with good clips since they make money when someone watches so they just make a video for everything) whereas noobfromUA just posts the good stuff from generally good games/streams which actually causes me to watch the stuff.

Furthermore I am more likely to follow a streamer because I watched a NoobfromUA's video.

But he shouldnt just steal bits from the streamers, instead he should ask for permission first. He isnt any hero or anything like that, he is more like someone that is making money off a good idea because everyone is too scared to call him out on all the money that he is making because other people dont have youtube channels.

Yeah, he should but at the same time, this to me just feels like the Youtube vs. Critics + LetsPlayers debate except this time people are siding with Youtube.

I'd really like someone to explain to me how he's "stealing" anything. These "content creators" sit down, play some Dota, and record it. They don't own the game, they don't own the matches they play, literally the only thing they own would be their faces on the screen because the stuff they say is muted after the steam is over because they're playing "stolen" music.

Now I don't know what video the OP is about but from what I've seen, the only content that NoobFromUA puts up apart from the player intros for TI5 has been high quality stuff accessed through DotaTV.

I also like how we're all like "piracy isn't stealing, it's copyright I infringement" until the dude is using content from someone we like and then it's all "he's using 1 minute of highlights from a 5 hour stream! Thief, thief!".

It's considered stealing because some of these content creators would ideally like to upload the videos themselves for the Youtube revenue. If there was no revenue involved I think literally noone would ever care.

Don't try to cast some aspersions of nobility onto this guy. He's not doing this for you or the community. He's doing it to put some money in his pocket.

Furthermore, the fact that you might have to sift through more videos to find these highlights doesn't make his actions any less ethically questionable. It is like if I were to rob a store and conclude, "Yeah, I kind of want to side with the angry people saying I'm a thief, but hey, I never would have had access to this sweet loot otherwise." It totally misses the point.

Content creators deserve profits to. Otherwise why would they create anything? These guys put slot of hard work into making this stuff only to have people copy and paste bits of stuff together and not even give any credit.

are u serious? They're the one producing the actual content not N4UA. The biting here is being done by "the hero the dota community deserves" (what a load of bullshit honestly) and not the other way around.

i reject the idea of intellectual monopoly so having a right to the original content does not matter to me, not to mention if it was not for NoobfromUA and what he does there would not be quality highlight videos like the ones he makes
