You people need to learn how to share the subreddit. They are allowed, and if you don't like them, don't pay attention to them. It's really as simple as that.

It's kinda hard to ignore them when they litter the sub though? I don't even hate them, if I played on PC I would download some of these mods myself. But I come here for ideas on what cars I want to get and what paint jobs would look good on certain cars. That's as good a reason as any to not want to see modified cars on this sub. Now if you created an alternate sub for these posts I would subscribe. Or hell, create another one for consoles and call it 'LSCCustoms' or something. But you won't do that 'cause you want all those subscriptions. Console players aren't bitter, you just make it a lot harder for us to find relevant posts.

It's "GTAVcustoms" not "moddedGTAVcustoms". Although modded cars look cool, it's pointless posting them here as not everyone is willing to take the risk to use mods or gain access to them.

There needs to be another sub for modded cars as it's irrelevant on this sub and also redundant.

With all due respect, isn't this a prime example of how reddit works?

(For the record, I haven't voted on the modded cars).

If the community doesn't want to see modded cars, they will downvote them, simple.

Doesn't matter if it's allowed or not, the stuff that the overall community wants to see will filter to the top, the stuff it doesn't want to see won't leave /new. Even if downvotes are prevented, they won't be upvoted, and still won't filter up to the top.

If it's enough of a problem that requires a mod post, clearly the community doesn't want modded cars. Like, Reddit is a self-governing platform. You can't police what does and doesn't filter up to the top, unless you start banning normal cars or vote-gaming to get the other, modded cars up top.

Unless they get moved into their own subreddit, nothing is going to change. It's the same reason, say, pro-Apple stuff won't rise to the top of /r/Android. The community does not want to see it, and you can't change that.

This sub should be to showcase what can be done with the standard game. If you have a car Mod installed chances are others online won't. So only you can see it. Might as well just post recreation posts of real cars with real cars. I enjoy mods, but posting them is pointless. It's just "/realifecustoms" then

Well, they shouldn't be allowed, period. They're not officially a part of GTA. It's as simple a that. If you want to show off your stuff, show it off in /r/Gaming, /r/GTA, /r/GrandTheftAutoV or /r/GTAOnline. Oh, and I can down-/upvote whatever I want, thank you very much.

I think it's mainly console gamers that don't like that they're appearing left right and centre now. Not sure how the majority feels, but as a console player myself I see them and think well not everyone can enjoy those in their game and it feels like they're not pictures from GTA that I'm looking at. Might as well be Forza or something. I'm not one to downvote them all. I still take a look, think 'Arggghhh I wish I could have a Dodge Challenger on my 360', then move on. But that's just my take on the bad reception they're getting.

What? It's got nothing to do with that. It's no longer gtavcustoms, instead just moddedcarsingtav. If I cared so much about it, I'd get a PC. But I don't, I like the customising that comes with the game and I like seeing what people can do with it. I don't come here to look at car mods.

Yes but at what point do modded vehicles get up-voted and original vehicles get downvoted because they are not considered "quality"?

I'm afraid of that too because I post pics from 360 so they are obviously gonna suck in terms of quality compared to next-gen/PC. Just gotta hope everyone remembers this sub is about the cars and not how fancy the shots are.

As for the modded vehicles getting upvoted, I'm sure they will become accepted by the majority of the community so at some point it will balance itself out and start seeing more up votes.

Hey as a console gamer I like that I can come here and see all the dope mods. Plus with how old the game is I really don't think it's a big deal, we've all seen pretty much everything the game has to offer without mods.

That's a good point. I like seeing the mods because I mostly play online so it's a bit too time consuming for me to install a ton of mods and then rarely use them. They look great though.

    Did I accidentally go to the wrong subreddit? I could've sworn that I typed in /r/gtavcustoms, not /r/pointlessvideogamedrama. Seriously, you guys need a shaker for all of this salt. I don't even mod my PC copy, but if those of you that come here feel the need to get butthurt over screenshots of digital cars, you need to spend less time worrying about pictures of the game, and more time playing the game.

      I've been gone from this sub for a while because I hated seeing "You ruined this car, it doesn't look anything like it's real life counterpart now" all the time whenever someone posted a crazy paint job or customization. So people wanted to make cars look like they do in real life, but once PC and Mods come along that do just that everyone flips their shit? Yeah, this place is toxic.
