That would be great if they were against the rules but we have said that they are allowed so people shouldn't downvote them. I get that people don't think they should be allowed but simply downvoting any remodeled car is not the right way to go about it.

This was my idea when I started seeing the remodeled cars, something I think I haven't posted (Maybe once people realise my reasoning, they will have a change of heart):

I was hoping those posts could serve a secondary purpose other than having more cool pictures to look at. With the idea of link flairs, people are supposed to be able to block any post with a certain flair on it (But I don't think that's ready yet) so if you don't like remodeled cars, you simply don't have to see them, and then we would encourage people who use modded cars to put links in the description so people can set the subreddit to only view modded cars and suddenly the subreddit becomes a modding forum for cars. Then, people like me who like to mod their games and have done for a long time can go through the usually high quality pictures of modded cars and pick out ones they like, and hopefully they will have a link to a website to download them. The links for downloading wouldn't be required though, because not everyone would still know where they got their mod.

Anyways, that was the big idea. (Which was largely thought up by someone in the community who said "Why not use link flairs?") Does it change your stance at all on the issue? I wasn't expecting so much backlash in this post because I thought this solution would benefit everyone. People who don't like remodeled cars don't have to see them, people who like the modded cars can see them, and the moderators don't have to worry about people getting downvoted for no reason.
