I had never heard of anyone eating cold toast on purpose, I didn't think it was something that people did.

Its not that people eat cold toast, its just that it exists man lmao. I mean I've made toast then had something come up, and believe it or not, when I came back...

my toast was cold

There is Melba Toast, which is traditionally room temperature, like a cracker.

Those are also essentially crackers.

Crackers made by toasting bread and then leaving it to cool.

Which is how a lot of crackers are made, and they are not called toast.

That may be, but this one is called toast.

I'm American. I prefer cold toast (well maybe not fridge cold, but room temperature or, at least, not hot). I like my toast to be crunchy, and I don't like how butter on hot toast makes it kind of soggy, or how hot toast changes the consistency of other spreads. I purposely let the toast cool before eating/adding anything to it. We exist.

I like you because I do the same thing. I think nobody should be judged by the things that they eat but it is clear that we are the civilized people here. They are saying things like "I only eat hot toast" but all I can hear is "barbarbarbar".

Someone finally said it, about time, hopefully this will clear up any confusion about why cool toast is eaten.

Whaaaat but butter infused toast is the best.

Why ever is that relevant? I don't think anybody anywhere intentionally cools down toast. But it goes cold quickly and so is kind of a known thing in contrast to freshly grilled hot toast.
The fridge thing was just emphasising that cold toast doesn't turn back into bread.

In B&B's it's about a 50/50 chance of the toast getting a heater or being served cold on a plate.

Guess that's not really on purpose, but it happens.
