Nice! Congrats! Orgasm is literally the best blush I've ever owned. When I was in beauty school a friend of mine who worked at sephora used it on me and I thought about it about once a week for 6 months before I actually bought it!

TL,DR: OP's Mum gave her an Orgasm.

how did you realize youre cool-toned and pink? i attempt to figure this out for myself once a year and give up because i can't get a definitive answer...

Is it possible to be smack in the middle on these color scales?

Yep, you can definitely be neutral!

I've been having a very long moment of clarity/ease out of denial about my undertone over the past year and it's the exact opposite of yours. I've been slowly purging my lip and blush collection because it was really about 85% cool shades (blue pinks, cool berries, etc.) that looked so gorgeous in the pan or tube but so clownish on my face. It's way less fun to shop for browns and roses instead of bright neon fuschias BUT at least I'm getting colors that I know I'll actually wear and feel pretty in because they actually flatter my warm olive skin. That beats wasting money on the cool toned products I find pretty just so they can look pretty untouched in my vanity. It's so funny that some people are similarly drawn to warm products despite having cool skin.

What specific rose and brown products/shades do you love?

UD Rush lipstick is the shit. I can't even. I bought it for my mom, too, (she's more neutral and I'm very warm toned) and she loves it as well.

-Rimmel blush in Santa Fe Rose
-NARS Dolce Vita sheer lipstick/matte pencil and blush
-Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle (a misnomer, not pink at all)
-Stila Convertible Color in Peony
-Wet n Wild's Fergie baked blush in Rose Champagne Glow
-MAC lipstick in Twig

Those are all in my rotation right now. The only one I feel looks particularly pretty in the pan is the Wet n Wild blush. But they all look "right" and very flattering on warm olive skin.

Thank you! I'm adding these to my wishlist.

I'll share my own recommendations: I've received compliments when wearing Nars Lovejoy blush, CoverGirl Outlast Lipcolor in Wine to Five (538), and Wet n Wild Spiked With Rum.

I wish I had a more summery rose in my makeup arsenal!

I think I've been lucky in that case. I am very yellow (super pale and yellow. Finding foundation is a bitch) but I hate browns. I just stay away from blue reds, more brick reds, but I still wear a lot of pink.

Awe, this is an awesome story! Orgasm is the first blush I bought by NARS and I wear it almost every single day. It's normally the only shimmery thing I have on my face (when I wear it I forgo the highlight) and it is super flattering on me, even though I lean more cool toned. It really adds a natural, soft flush of color to my face that is a great addition to almost every look I wear. I don't find it overly sparkly or glittery like a lot of people do, and I don't think it's overhyped because it really is a great product/color, for a huge range of people. And, it can be dusted on lightly for a subtle color boost, or built up to a brighter more in-your-face type of peachy-coral that I find is flattering on most people, especially women that lean more fair. I do find that Deep Throat is a more flattering color than Orgasm for anyone that leans darker at all.) So glad you like it! I'll be sad to put mine away for the fall/winter seasons (not completely of course!)

Ok so I really don't understand the undertone thing with makeup. It seems to have nothing to do with color theory. In the color wheel red, yellow, and orange are warm tones and blue, green, and purple are cool tones. The undertones to makeup are either pink or yellow which are both warm colors. But is pink a cool skin tone because fair? I'm a rather tan person with a ton of pigmentation in my cheeks so any makeup tends to make washed out. I'm just so lost!

Within every color there a warm and cool tones. There are both warm and cool pinks for example. People can have all sorts of undertones but we generally lump them into 2 categories. Cool tend to have pinker undertones whether dark skinned or light and look better in cool toned pinks, yellows, greens, browns, you name it. Same thing but opposite with warm tones. Warm skinned people have yellowish tones to their skin and looks better in warm oranges, reds, blues, etc what have you. It's confusing but you get a feel for it after awhile.

I can't figure it out for the life of me either. All I know is that this Bare Minerals liquid foundation I have on in Bare Linen today makes me look like a freaking yellow ghost.

Haha i too experienced undertone denial. Pinky McPinkerson here still hasn't handed off her warm products though... My babies....my Preciousssssessss

I see they have an "orgasm" and a "super orgasm", I've never used them before but does anyone have anything to say on each?
