Story:

Holy crap I just looked into this story. It's insane. Two years ago, this kid needed a heart transplant. The hospital took him off the list because he wouldn't take his medication and kept getting into trouble with the law. So he and his family get on the news saying the hospital is racist, and he gets a new heart ahead of other people who were taking their medication and not committing crimes. Fast forward to just recently. He decides to rob an old lady. As he's running from the cops, he hits a person and then wraps the car around a telephone pole and dies.

Edit: I had to block stuff out in order to post it here.

Wow, he and his family are absolute scum.

EDIT: A dumb.

eh, he just donated all his organs though.

Who knew you could rent hearts.

There is an episode of The Blacklist that deals with renting organs.

Depends on how bad the wreck was, and just a guess he was likely on some illicit substances.

[–]religion_is_wat [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

Organs can hardly handle one transplant. Multiple doesn't help.

Yeah he should have just kept all his good organs and all that, since he had one donated in him. It's not like there's a list of people waiting or anything.

Most parents would go that far for their children even if it isn't otherwise the most moral thing to do. I don't think they're scum for doing everything they could to try and prolong their kid's life.

how about tell your kid to take his medicine and stay out of trouble. seems like a decent plan.

Kids will do everything you tell them to do 100% of the time, everyone knows this fact.

Most of them will do it before you even ask. It's the bad kids that have to be asked.

well i dont think "hey, i cant control my kids, so i'll call everyone involved racist instead and get that heart"

That's so sad. Sad for the person who didn't get the transplant and may have actually made something of their second chance at life. Although irrational, I feel for the donor and their family. It would be terrible to know my organ went to saving some scumbag.

Totally, I'm really having second thoughts about being an organ donor now. I wouldn't want my parts to help scum like this guy.

      You're being ridiculous.

One shitty person gets a heart, so you don't want to donate your organs - that you don't need - that more than likely would go to someone whose a decent human beings and you could save multiple lives? Ridiculous.

Hell, let's say your liver does get donated to a shitty person. What about all the other organs you have that could save multiple lives, you don't want that to happen because a shitty person might get one of your organs?

I mean, if you've got the race card you may as well play it. The media eats it up these days.

When I was younger I heard that phrase "pulling the race card" from a teacher of mine. I thought it was a brilliant phrase because my mom does it all the time since we are hispanic and it always annoyed me because of how petty it seemed. I was glad to finally have a name for it.

      Except....

I misheard it as "driving the race car." It made sense in context and I would go on to say "driving the race car" whenever it came up. My friends just thought I was being sarcastic or trying to be ironic so they never corrected me. For over 4 years!

Finally at some point in senior year I heard the correct phrase and it clicked that my phrase was not an alternative. I was just wrong.

Anyways, I bring this up all up because its been a while and I can laugh at my mistake. I also brought it up to say, damn, he drove that race car straight into a pole.

Also the victim card of fictional groups.

Sounds like a piece of shit regardless of race.

      [–]Username_Detective 67ポイント68ポイント  (15子コメント)

But more of a piece of shit because he exploited his race to get things that other people deserved more than he did.

Not saying what he did was right. But if it was your kid, and you were trying to save his life, you might grasp at every straw you could.

      [–]Username_Detective [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

If you love your kid, you'd try to set a good example for them to follow. Teaching your kid to act like a victim to get what he needs is not doing that.

Yea every straw except the one that include any sense of personal responsibility. Nope he's an asshole.

Yeah seriously. Take your fucking meds and don't commit any crimes. How is that too much to ask for?

      [–]Son_of_the_Morning [スコア非表示]  (2子コメント)

Why should I give a fuck about someone who doesn't give a fuck about themselves

Because most parents can't stop loving their child. Even when it's so painful it tears them apart, they can't stop it.

Not if my kid was holding a gun in his fb profile. Seriously, this whole "protect your own" bullshit is just that, bullshit. As a father, if my kid is going to break the law and be an asshole it is not my job to bail them out. This kid's parent's are just as bad as he is.

I think there's a difference though between letting your kid go to jail to be punished, and letting your kid die.

No there's really not. This planet is 6 billion+ too full. If someone else's kid wasn't breaking the law and was already on the list they absolutely deserve it before mine.

The world is not "too full". That's such a stupid idea. Why does it keep getting spread around?

Is it because it makes hating others easy? Ugh.

That's the thing i don't understand why people don't get. This is not an example of a black person, this is an example of a pile of shit human being. If he was white, it'd be the same thing. Why's the emphasis gotta be on black instead of piece of shit?

i think in this case it's because if he was a white guy and his parents raised a stink, it wouldn't have made a difference because he was white. his status as a minority seems to be the only reason why he actually got the transplant in the beginning

Did you read the story or look at the picture(s)? He, his family, and his friends made it about him being black.

I'm talking about people in general. They fall under that category.

There was a big controversy when this kid got the transplant at first because the doctors said he was at risk or something like that and some people interpreted that as them profiling him because he's black.

Bet someone couldda put that heart to good use.

Saving criminals seems backwards... Folding on well written transplant guidelines cause the media called you racist is spineless.

Sucks for the person that was supposed to get the get heart that he ended up getting. Such a waste of life x2. Him being the first waste and the heart not going to someone who deserved it.

The "Heart not going to someone who deserved it" does not necessarily mean they didn't get one at all. They may have just had to wait a few weeks longer.

If you need a transplant, weeks can mean too late. More than likely, someone further down that list was affected by him getting that heart

I'm saying that the entire list may have been pushed back one person because of this scumbag. So the last person on the list to actually get one gets pushed off.

To be fair, the hospital probably should have had a little more backbone and not been so afraid of the race card when it was very clear that he did not deserve a heart. Not above others at least.

Seriously, if I were a hospital administrator and I saw someone with a history of high-risk behavior that needed a heart, they'd be pretty damn low on the list. If you're constantly participating in activities that are dangerous and refusing to take your medication, you shouldn't be allowed to jump to the front of the list when there are other people out there who will probably actually get some use out of the heart and not die two years later.

No, but I'd rather have that than someone who isn't doing what they're supposed to for a transplant essentially steal a heart from someone who also needs the heart and is doing everything right.

So, the bottom line is other patients may have died who were taking their medications and doing what they were supposed to. When this individual and family pulled the race card, they get bumped to the top of the list. I blame the hospital. Why should they have given into the race card. The bottom line was he wasn't following the program he needed for a successful transplant. Don't allow the race card to sway guidelines already in place. Hopefully someone who would have been a good citizen with a second chance at life wasn't lost because of this. This should have never had anything to do with race.

Because maybe if they ignored him not being compliant and his personality issues he was sickest? Let's say he was med. Compliant and just a terrible person. He would get the first heart if he was sicker.

He was an ex gang banger who moved away with his brother and was trying to turn his life around. Had the same bs comments because the pictures that got pulled off his Facebook with people saying he was a banger who was probably looking for trouble or his family was trying to send a message with the pictures "they chose".

Stokes, of Decatur, allegedly carjacked a Honda, then burst into a Roswell home and shot at an elderly woman as he tried to rob her...then took off at a high speed as cops chased him down the highway. He smashed into a 33-year-old pedestrian before losing control and plowing into a pole. (from this news story )

Sadly, this is not someone who was trying to turn his life around. This is someone who was troubled when he had a heart condition, and who was still troubled afterwards.

The only reason he got the transplant in the first place was because the hospital was pressured by the media into moving him ahead of other patients.

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

I would say the same about a white piece of trash as well.

Noted for when you die. :)

Aww /u/joeydasaint...get a bit hot in here for you???

Well, I just went through your profile, and I have no qualms about calling you a racist dick. Because you're a racist dick. I guess I'm a "liberal puke" but at least I'm not an ignorant fucking neo nazi

                                    This is so satisfying.

Someone who actually deserved that heart didn't get it though, so it's really not all that satisfying.

It's depressing, honestly. I don't know what heart problems he had, but only living two years after getting a new one seems pointless. He might have lived that long without it. And a productive member of society could have used that heart.

Nah, the faces he made were the best parts for me.

Maybe if his kind would get a job and earn money legally, there'd be no "stereotyping", filthy piece of trash.

At least he had good trigger discipline in that second picture. I figured I'd maybe add something nice to the comments..

It honestly looks like that's the first time he's ever even seen a firearm.

Why do you think he took a picture?

Why did you black everything out? This shit is old and has been floating around uncensored since day one. Besides, his stupid face is a big part of this.

                                    You're just an ass, OP.
