slam your head into the ground

[–]Grumpy_Old_Mans [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

end up with shards of glass going down your throat as you gasp for air while swallowing a shit load of water, if your not already impaled with a piece of glass by smashing your face into the ground.

That cat: "Why are you doing this..."

In all seriousness, though, I seriously want to have a go on one of those things.

I've been on one in the Bahamas, it was pretty neat but painfully slow. Also, the air pressure inside the dome was really hard on my ears. Overall, would do again.

Do you do scuba? Just curious if the ear pressure issue was because or something related to the device or normal pressure at depth and you just not being familiar with equalization techniques (or changing depth repeatedly because you were in the device).

Do you have any pics?

We bought the VHS of it for some outrageous sum, it's at my parents' house though. The employees running the tours are in SCUBA gear, and have fish food pellets so that big schools of fish swarm around. I'll watch it next time I'm at my folks' house and see if it's worth sharing.

Please be careful! I've seen these a lot when diving. One careless blob rammed into a large stand of elkhorn coral oops, that'll just grow back, will it?.

Most of the places they use these the seafloor and all the coral is about 20-25 feet down. These rarely go below 12-15 feet. So typically not an issue although I suppose still can be.

yeah, I really hope this is in my future.

I know we're suppose to laugh at her because she is fat, but those things look fun as hell.

As a dive professional I can point out about 20 ways this contraption can kill a fat tourist.

Hehe! In my part of the world, Hella (and Helle) is a girls name.

This is comedian, actress and director Hella Joof

plot twist: she's disabled and you're all insensitive arseholes.

I know you're probably joking, but it could be possible. A couple years ago I tore something in me knee and now my knee dislocates if I do anything other than walk. Especially swimming. I lost my physically demanding job because of it and haven't been able to do much physically since then, causing weight gain.

Last December I went on a cruise to Honduras and wanted to go into the water so bad, but couldnt. I very seriously thought about using one of these, but ultimately decided that if I cant swim on my own it's best to stay out of water.

I know this probably isn't the case here. But it's possible.

[–]I_eat_satans_ass [スコア非表示]  (2子コメント)

I thought swimming was very low impact and was easier on your knees that walking/running? Hence its used a lot for PT.

It's not the joint that is causing pain, which is what low impact is for. It's the fact that it dislocates if there is any side to side force on my leg and swimming has just enough to dislocate, at which point its very painful and I can't fully extend it until I apply pressure at a very specific point on my kneecap and then push my shin the opposite direction popping it back in.

Ahhh, I see now. This is why I'm not a doctor.

Walmart is really trying to get as many retail locations as possible. Currently testing underwater locations, results seem positive.

I once saw a competition where two races competed across land and the first one to the water leg of the race got to choose one of two items leaving the remaining item to their competitor.

One item was one of these the other was a pair of webbed gloves. They choose the gloves and left the contraption to their opponent.

They fought so hard trying to use that thing but the water was cloudy and half the time they couldn't see where they were going.

Ended up losing a whole lot of time vs the one with the gloves.

Maybe someone really likes to go scuba diving but they're physically disabled, and this device allows them to do it.
