first off you need duct tape... and then you need to wrap it all around your car, to make sure its secure, otherwise it'll fall off. In fact I would recommend wrapping it around all 4 doors of your car, because you can never have it too secure... and then getting into your car is difficult? not really, just smash in the back window.

Worried about someone getting into your car?

No problems, just go to home depot, buy a cupboard door, and mount it so the hinges are on the roof (with screws sticking out for extra defense of course), and then a flap down door.

Also since we're in Canada, you could spraypaint on the door "Totally locked, so please don't try it" and since we're all Canadian, and polite, you'd totally be fine.

Plus side to this is you have a huge resale advantage, you have a defensible item on your car and a super secure entry method.

What about the debit machine? Not sure what I'm missing. I get the trick though, this happened to me when driving us home from the bar. Guy gets to my place and says he has no debit. I tell him that I have no cash and he'll have to figure something out. He wanted to drive us to the gas station 3 min down the road I said hell no and then suddenly it worked. Magic!

It's very likely this was an uber driver, but for all they know, it could've been a friend, boyfriend, family member picking up someone who happened to park in a taxi spot.

    Looks to me like the same spot on Rideau from this video so yeah that's a pickup spot for taxis, or at the very least a big troll of all the taxis around there.

    I mean it's probably not that driver's fault, the client probably made the request in that spot and he's just trying to do his job.

    That's definitely something uber users should be aware of - walk a few meters down and don't wait right at the taxi stands, it's just asking for trouble. If I need to call an Uber to the Rideau area, I just head down to Sussex street.

    I always thought that taxis shouldn't be using that area as a stand anyways. There's enough congestion in that area on a normal day with the bus stop being there, and it's even worse now with construction going on.

    Just as an example, today I saw a taxi driver block up some buses buses from getting to the stop. He was stopped in traffic, halfway between the bus stop lane (from picking up the passenger) and the roadway.

    If the stand isn't full, it's an easy spot to pull over to pick someone up. Generally, in Canada, you shouldn't have to worry about raging cab drivers when picking up a friend or relative.
