Either says Adolf or Hope...but I mean really, what's the difference?

Adolf hoped for things.

[–]Blitzkrieg_My_Anus 84ポイント85ポイント  (33子コメント)

He brought hope to Germany... before pissing in their faces and sitting on their puppies.

and sitting on their puppies.

That evil bastard! ಠ_ಠ

Just be happy he wasn't sitting on their faces and pissing in their puppies. That's even worse.

If all he did was as simple as pissing in faces and smooshing puppies, I don't think many people would even know who he was.

We see them as bad things because he failed. Imagine how demonized Columbus would be in America today had the natives finally fought him off and prevented future "explorers" from invading the continent.

Museums would have traveling exhibits of the horrific destruction and movies TV shows would play out the alternate timeline where Columbus had succeeded and North America was a gray barren wasteland of constant destruction run by the descendant of Columbus.

How is the Alternate Timeline different from today?

It's alternate

As an american, I don't see the difference.

Looks outside NYC apartment Can confirm, exactly as described.

As an alternate-American, I'm offended.

As an American. I am offended that you are offended, of my partially offensive statement.

We should probably quit Columbus Day by now, of course federal employees might not like that.

Adolf = Hope

Adolf Hopeler

He hoped the Jews could concentrate better at school so sent them to concentration camps.

It's actually kind of moving and powerful. It's a reminder of how readily we can dehumanize entire groups of people during war. It shows that many of them were people that were probably not terribly different from you or I, but they happened to be born in a bad place at a bad time.

The more we accept that we are all capable of this, the easier it will be to prevent this again.

The more that we accept all people are like this, the more likely to see shit like this, 'cause more people are like this.

Yeah my exact feelings too.

My family's Chinese and lived through the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong (and most of them didn't make it), but somehow that makes me all the more eager to seek out stories from the Japanese side of that war. It's humbling and important to see the humanity in everyone, especially those you grew up knowing as the villain.

That's because you're smart. You saw that the sentence was written backwards and your brain, being the amazing computer that it is, decided to take it a step further and began mirror imaging each letter. So the d became a b. You should pat yourself on the back. Eat some omega fats to treat your intelligent brain.

Episode IV: A New Adolf

Aryan Skywalker joins forces with a Gastapo Knight, a U boat pilot, a wookkkiee and two Enigma coders to save the universe from the Jewlords gold stealing battle-station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Rabbi.

There was more than 1 person named Adolf.

I have an uncle named Adolf, people are always soo surprised by this but seriously it was just one bad guy, why ruin a whole name cause of it? Naming your kid Hitler now that's a different story

Nice of Hitler to ruin the name for everyone.

what happened to your nail?

I pick at my nails, it's a nervous habit.

You should try heroin. it cured me of my nail biting habit.

Hey, OP. Listen to this guy. Fantastic advice

Man, your nails would look well manicured next to mine.

Also maybe check out /r/calmhands ; I'm a trichster (/r/Trichsters) myself, and only recently stopped nail-biting (which honestly only made pulling easier, but I'm working on it!)

Ahhh oh no, I totally belong on that subreddit. Beyond picking at my nails I also bite my lips and cheeks to the point of bleeding, and pick/dig at the skin under my nails. And congrats on your non nail-biting progress!

Mine peel just like that. I suggest nail tek 2. It helps to keep the nail layers together

Hey I used to do this for over twenty years, I'm 29, I just stopped one day, having a nail clipper near helps a lot.

You have no idea how many dumbasses used to come to my house when I was a kid and ask me why I had nazi symbols all over the place....I didnt go around asking Christians why they love the letter T so much

A priest and a rabbi are walking down the street and pass an 8-year-old boy. The priest says to the rabbi, "hey, let's fuck him." The rabbi replies, "out of what?"

Kinda weird how that name became a complete taboo. After all, it's really just a name. I wonder how many people named Adolf were born since the war...

I wasn't aware it was taboo o_O Thought only Hitler was.

Adolfo is still commonly used in latin america, which I just find weird.

It's got an extra o. Completely different.

Seriously though, as far as I know Latin America wasn't really as heavily involved in the war.

Except for hiding Nazi's after the war..

Maybe that's why Adolfo is a common name. Hitler secretly escaped, added an "o" to his first name, and no one suspected a thing. People who met him thought Adolfo was a swell name and it became popular.

Adolf is the most manliest name I've heard, but ohhh nooo someone had to ruin it.

Not the most popular name but it's no taboo in Europe as far as I've noticed.
