For the uninformed, this man is Daryl Davis who used to be a musician and had a KKK member approach him after a show he did. The KKK member complimented him on his performance and they sparked a friendship. Here's an article about it. Bonus, here is a segment CNN did on it a while back. Best part of the video is when the KKK member heading the rally points to Daryl and says, "I got more respect for that black man than I do you white niggers out there!" Can't make this shit up.

"The strange relationship of a KKK Wizard and his black buddy." This needs to be a Disney movie.

[–]Im_why_Waldos_hiding 139ポイント140ポイント  (2子コメント)

We'll call it "Karl and Kyle Go To Kentucky".

The strange relationship of a KKK Wizard and his black buddy."

Former KKK Wizard.

Daryl Davis collects KKK outfits like a wild west bounty hunter collects scalps.

It actually was a Boondocks episode, just the other way around

Clayton Bigsby?

Bigsby accepted the fact that he is black, but divorced his wife Prudence because she was a "nigger lover"

After 19 years of marriage!

Today, Davis is not only a musician, he is a person who befriends KKK members and, as a result, collects the robes and hoods of Klansmen who choose to leave the organization because of their friendship with him.

Thanks for sharing that. Funny photos but then you find out it's about some guy deciding to be a genuine friend to people who have built their whole identity around hating him... and then they can't do it anymore. It's really quite inspiring.

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

You see this is funny because in an episode of Boondocks, Ruckus has two brothers; Daryl and Darrell (pronounced Dah-Rell)

There's an episode where they do this

It doesn't matter what color you are, as long as you act white

He came to speak at my college. He gave out his info and urged people to contact him with any questions about his story. I spent a lot of time choosing my words carefully to make sure my email didn't come across disrespectful. I just included some examples of what he said that may be misunderstood, especially by young minds of the audience. We went back and forth making points. Eventually he wrote his final response by saying that it's because of people like me racism will always exist blah blah.

What were you saying to him that caused him to say that? You can't just with hold those details

I'm actually looking to see if I can get access into my university email acct.. It's been a bit

You don't remember the gist of it?

I literally cannot understand what he believes.

So what the fuck? I got questions for him.

His name is Daryl Davis. You can Google him or peek at some of the other comments. Basically, he believes that if he makes a genuine effort to befriend people and let them get to know him, then they won't be able to hate him anymore. A lot of the time, he's right.

Here is a really good story about Davis on Love and Radio. It's worth a listen

My ex guy just made a documentary about him. He's a really cool dude, though apparently hard to work with. But DAMN does he have some stories.

Does he have a brother named Darrel?

That's Rev. Uncle Ruckus. No relation.

Uncle Roku. I'm a pos jap imitator.

It's called reverse vitiligus.

"White folks invented rap..."

As a white person, that's about the only Uncle Ruckus quote I feel comfortable posting.

Praise white Jesus.

Dont trust them new niggas over there. Leaving their nigga essence in the air.

"Robert, I'd offer to help you with your bag...

... but you're a coon"

White PR and marketing teams created rap*

Just watched 30 for 30's "I hate Christian Laetner" and I had no clue that the white community embraced hip hop as much as they did.

That was a good 30 for 30.

You know the dude on the right calls his buddy "one of the good ones."

DAE instantly hear the woeful horns that usually accompanies Ruckus in the show?

Bwom bwon bwom bwonnn

Lemme guess. He suffers from re-vitiligo as well

But he's not Uncle Ruckus at all. He's a historian that's befriended KKK members to understand their beliefs. By doing so, he's convinced some to even stop being KKK members. He also revealed that some Baltimore cops were KKK members during the riots.

This is a dude you applaud, not make fun of.

That reminded me. Wasn't there supposed to be a live action Ruckus movie?

Did not raise enough funds sadly.

Holy fuck. I didn't know about this. I would have paid for it and spread the word as wide as possible.

Of course I'm real.

Uhh, the guy in the picture on the right is Black. Uncle Ruckus is not.

This should be at the top

He looks like a black Ron Jeremy

Uncle ruckus is voiced by stewie's dad from malcom in the middle

Did you

Stevie?

I was thinking no way did Brycan Canston voice Uncle Ruckus

Dude's a good actor, I wouldn't put any role past him.

I bet if he was gonna be de-vitiligo'd Uncle Ruckus, he'd have his own Forrest Whitaker kind of bug eye ready.

No relation.

They're probably gay, relax.

OMG, He exists...I have heard of Daryl Davis but never his pic...reality is stranger or sometimes right on with fiction.

Looks more like Carl Winslow to me.
