Which would yield more profit for the amount of effort:

  • Bitcoin trading

  • Purchasing the virtual currency of an MMO like WoW and trying to game the auction house

I think the second option would prove to be a more reliable income generator as well as having a lesser time requirement.

Isn't the second option what Brock Pierce did with his company (IGE)? He cornered the billion-dollar real market for the WoW virtual currency in association with big Chinese "WoW mining" operations. In 2008 there was an interesting article about it in Wired: Part 1. Part 2.
