Mathematician and ESPN analyst Curt Schilling took to social media on Tuesday to share a meme about Muslims and Nazis.
It does not appear that Schilling made the image himself, though he points out, helpfully, "The math is staggering when you get to true #'s."
Somehow, this logic failed to convince a person who has a Confederate flag as their Twitter avatar.
@gehrig38 I don't how you can say only 7% of Germans were Nazis when Hitler was elected.

But, Confederate Flag Man, how can you be so sure?
@CooperD311 curious as well how that can be a "fact", who could possibly know that #?

Within 10 minutes, the Twitter post had been deleted, almost as if Schilling were capable of feeling remorse.
He is not, however. As of press time, the companion Facebook post -- which indicates that the photo may have originated with a group that calls itself "BREAK UP the IRS" and probably has a lot of other good ideas -- is still online.
ESPN has since released a statement condemning the tweet and announcing that Schilling has been removed from his current assignment covering the Little League World Series.
"Curt's tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective. We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration."
