        He can if he wants, because that's the freedom a Valve employee has. But he won't because he knows his place is as a game lead for dota. Valve hires people like that which is how their no hierarchy system is able to work. They are all intelligent people who are capable of where they are most valuable on their own without being told. And they don't need to be told to stick to something, because they are capable of deciding that on their own.

          TBH I think Lesh is really hard to nerf because every item he builds is defensive. Movement speed and strength gain are my thoughts. Maybe increase the mana cost of lighting at lower levels but that may kill him all together.

          Base speed, damage or agility or the gain of any one of those 3 would be enough. If you make him a worse mid hero it removes the problem. It's not late game where he is the problem its the mid game when the first team fights happen. They could also manage him with buffs to other heroes. Like I think a slight buff to veno would nerf mid game of a lot of heroes, like buff veno's agility/agility gain or speed and it will instantly hurt most mid game-centric heroes. There are definitely options but you are right he is hard to nerf because you could push him to not get picked at all.

            That's why he's considered a hero you almost can't win the lane against.

            On top of that, leshracs usually pick up octarines very late in the game, when his impact will already start diminishing compared to midgame.

            I was playing lesh during 6.83 at the end and he was quite as broken as he is now. The biggest thing that made him the way he is in my opinion is the buffed 0.75 second slow in that patch which increased his ability to chase down with his already buffed ulti damage. The lightning storm was already low mana cost and cooldown which made it spammable during laning to whittle down opponents health. Valve has been slowly buffing him since 6.81 and he quietly became as OP as he is now, it took 6.84 which pros immediately dubbed the magic damage patch to really have him shine as a top pick.

            The argument for octarine core being the reason he's strong is a little weak because like twodeegee said octarine isn't built until later in the game when lesh has already been stomping the opponents.

            yep. this buff is the straw that broke the horse's back. No need for it if leshrac's to be viable, but now people can literally go lightning storm + split earth. At least before, edict was more viable, which could be countered with more units in the area. Now those units hurt you, and you still get slowed so you can't even approach him before he turns to run.

            I mean in pubs last patch I had 82% winrate with him by maxing edict and stun, skipping lightning entirely or putting a value point or two in around levels 10-15. Edict alone became a powerful spell when it was given a physical property that could hurt towers. At level one, it does something like 650 physical damage if you can get it all on a single target.

            Put him mid and you can get level 2 in it before rune, maybe get level 4 if you got bounty at 0:00. It makes it nearly impossible to contest runes without assistance.

            It's also the entire reason he's strong as a hero. He doesn't get more damage after 16 and aghs (which was buffed in 6.83), so he has to end early. Level 4 edict will melt T1 towers if there is not a glyph. Even then, you can take off half of it's hp. Lightning and pulse make creep clearing a breeze.

            Add in the semi-recent buffs to blink, euls, atos, arcanes, bloodstone, and the introduction of glimmer and OC.

            just an fyi, edict has been able to damage towers for a long time. not sure about always, but definitely since TI2 since I remember ARS-ART playing leshrac support and going the build you mentioned.

            edict changing damage type from composite to physical had almost no change (-4% vs heroes, +5% vs buildings) because it's damage was decreased in order to account for the fact that it's damage was no longer reduced by magic resistance, and it's damage versus buildings was increased which counteracted the reduction from physical to composite since magic resistance has no effect on towers.

            the buff to edict was the higher duration which also increased it's total damage, but dps is the same. also level 1 damage is "only" 360 physical, not 650. level 2 is closer at 720.

            He was pretty balanced when lightning didn't set up his own split earths. You either needed someone like a lion or shaker, or build your own euls before you could reliably land your stun on a fleeing target.

            Offlane. He's very hard to kill there due to his mobility and ability to silence & stun chasing heroes, and he does not need farm that badly because an early 6 makes him the strongest hero on the map

            And he's also relatively easy to zone out for supports. Also, when do you pick him? we're not talking about pubs here, pick him early and they will draft heroes to deal with him.

            Also, what kinda draft does he fit in the offlane? As i said in another comment somewhere, i'm not saying he's weak in his current rendition, nor that he's gonna be weak after another nerf. I just don't think he's gonna be 100% P/B which seems to be the norm.

            The ulti is still highly dangerous, and it's in a much better place than many other heroes' ultimates. Anyway it's his kit that's the problem. That he also had a tier-1 damaging ultimate to go with it is insane.

            And both he and Dark Seer survived pretty heinous nerfs for a long time because of how good their core abilities were. The biggest reason Batrider isn't picked now is that the meta favors heroes that will instantly kill him when he initiates (like Lina and QoP). He lived on in pro games long after pubs abandoned him to winrate hell.

            Sure he's not bottom tier, and likely never will be, but look at bat, nerf even his numbers too much.

            His own mobility is heavily reliant on remnants, his push ability is also a pain in the ass to use on heroes that aint stunned.

            Yes of course, his kit offers a lot and is very rounded, but as a support i would much rather have a wyvern (talking about a team captains mode here, not pubs), solid ranged Bkb piercing lockdown, as well as good creep clear, harass and defensive utilities.

            I would imagine Earth spirit would get farm priority until he has blink/force and aghanims. Aghanims Earth spirit is probably one of the strongest spells in the game, it wipes the floor with lasso as a displacement spell, the utility it gives is insane.

            His spells are so limited early game not Only because of mana, but because of remnants as well.

            Next patch will probably show, i wouldn't put him as a 100% p/b though

                To expand on it a bit more, they went 3D and absolutely underestimated the cost increase that would come with keeping the flashy and intensive visuals they're known for.
                Adding a fixed camera to a 3D environment you have to move in also didn't help given that the game is mainly a physics based platformer. It's really depressing all in all given that they really went finacially all out to make this title happen and yet they couldn't deliver half of a game what people had expected, lots of things were cut and didn't make it.
                So it doesn't look too good for them or Trine as a franchise if 3 doesn't sell well. It's really damn depressing, especially after seeing just how honest and open they are about this all...

                I'm afraid it's been a disappointment. I loved the first two games to death, but this one has failed in a good bunch of ways. The 3D was unnecessary and too ambitious, forced them to cut the game short and shallow because of a lack of money. And although it's really pretty, it just feels really clunky to play this kind of physics platformer in a 3D environment with a fixed camera. Damn shame.
