Girls don't like boys, Girls like birds and Netflix.

She just wants to Netflix and bird

Just to let everyone know bird (vögel) is a slang word for fuck in German if you use it correctly

Vogel is pronounced like Fogal. Oh god

Uh it's not really my kind of game, don't really know why I bought it tbh. I've played like 15 minutes

You guys are all retarded.

Seriously, how did a silly little post about asking a girl a question spark into a huge argument about "SJWs!!!"

Also, I bet there are some people out there who don't know what an SJW is! Haha!

I mean, I totally do. But go ahead and clarify for those idiots who don't.. Please?

I'm pretty sure it's Silver Jewish Women.

Lol all those dummies out there who don't know that SJW (meaning Social Justice Warrior) is reddit's catch-all term for anyone who believes there is social inequality that needs to be corrected, from "tumblr feminists" - a term meaning "young women who frequent tumblr.com and parrot a lot of feminist buzzwords (patriarchy, triggers, colonialism, male tears, etc.) without fully understanding what they mean" and actual radfems (radical feminists - a small group of feminists who produce most of the hateful speech associated with feminism) to anyone who has a more liberal standpoint regarding gender or racial politics than the average redditor.
The term (and reddit's opinion of it) mostly stems from the TumblrInAction sub which collects the worst instances of tumblr social activism (actually mostly troll accounts, but TiA has a somewhat McCarthyist view of SJWs - if it looks even a little like a real SJW, it is serious and bad) for redditors to mock and also internalize.

Haha what nimrod wouldn't already know that, though. What a turnip.

It's been an interesting transition in the last 18 months. Because I remember it used to be for the tumblr feminists who take things too far (although I think that some of it falls under Poe's Law). Now some people seem to think they've gotten into every facet of media, politics and every website out there. If this is the case, tumblr is officially a thousand times better at Reddit when it comes to activism.

Well reddit is very much the news of the Internet for the Internet by the Internet and by that token has a powerful influence over the Internet but not as much outside. Tumbler is much more a place for people of communities outside the Internet to communicate on the internet thus has greater influence over traditional media.

I'm with you, man. I was looking at the top comments and thinking "what the fuck?"

Birds are pretty sweet; like tiny dinosaurs.

Who the fuck asks a 6 year old(guessing) if they like boys or girls?

Expecting a funny reaction. Which we got.

This exactly. It's why you ask little kids what they want to be when they grow up or what they'd do as president.

[–]used_to_be_relevant 56ポイント57ポイント  (2子コメント)

When my oldest was in kindergarden, we went in for parent day. They had little sheets on the wall kids had filled out for what they wanted to be. Fireman, policeman, doctor, teacher, mommy, and my son. A "vegetarian elf"

Well, it's a lot easier than being a vegetarian dwarf. Meat is a big part of their culture.

My brother told my mom he wanted to be an Indian.

Oh, is that it? I always felt so pressured by that question and could never decide what I wanted to be. I'd worry about it pretty often. Where the fuck was my life going?

I'm 30 now. Still haven't decided.

its not that far out of scope of a question to ask a child. Its actually a very common question. the kid normally then says something like in the post or , "No boys are stinky!" get off your high horse

Yeah, this is a pretty normal question. My parents used to ask me who I had a crush on all the time when I was preschool age.

Some of the comments in this thread are so cringe worthy. The idea that this is "wrong" to ask a six(ish) year old, like it's going to fuck them up to be faced with the very idea of homosexuality, is kind of an extension of the whole culture of coddling that modern kids are being raised in. When I was six I had already learned about fear by having seen (and been terrified by) the Chucky movies, I learned about the world by real bullies who were blessed by early growth spurts and would beat your ass if you let yourself be weak, and I learned about gay sex from a magazine we found in the woods.

Haha. I learned about gay sex from a few pages of a magazine I found in the woods also.

it's two different users.

Does it matter? It's not like she's being asked what sex position she likes most. It's an innocent question to a child.

There's no sexual context here

SJWs

Pretty sure every adult asks kids if they like boys or girls. Little kids always say dumb things.

THE LE SJWS ARE EVERYWHERE AND LE RUINING OUR SOCIETIES

It's about ethics in gaming journalism guys!!!!1!

SJWs don't really ask. They'll pressure little kids into feeling gay or trans.

"[Son], do you like boys or girls? It's okay if you really like boys. You can talk to me about it anytime. I think it would be wonderful if you like boys. I'll tell everyone how proud I am of my brave little man if you like boys. Everyone will love you!"

Where are all these SJWs? I have lots of feminist friends and none of them would act that retarded

They are just a small group of radicals confined to certain blogs on tumblr, their beliefs are not as widespread as reddit would have you believe. These days SJW = doesn't agree with my opinion.

I assume you're not a college student, they are fucking everywhere

Feminists are different from 'people who pressure six year olds into feeling trans'.

I graduated from a very liberal college in 2014. Lots of feminists. But I can't imagine any of them encouraging gayness (or sexuality in general) in a small child.

I believe most people are referring to Thomas Lobel's parents. They, both lesbians, claimed Thomas began wanting to be a girl from the age of 3. They posted videos from his young life where he showed those "signs". However, people watching the videos noticed one of the mom continually leading the boy like the poster above us described. Thomas' parents removed the videos once people began commenting on that.

So one pair of parents = everywhere.

Two entirely separate points. But do feel free to directly link them just because it makes a point you disagree with seem absurd.

So confirmation bias?

Ah yes, one example. You can tell that it's a veritable epidemic, because otherwise, why would the news find it interesting enough to do a story about it?

Kind of like how this is concrete evidence that conservative parents all want their children to grow up to be genocidal racists: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2152679/New-Jersey-parents-named-children-Adolf-Hitler-Aryan-Nation-back.html

Really because I just graduated from a very large school and have NEVER seen any sort of SJW or radical feminism except when its referenced on Reddit

Im also from massachusetts, it might depend on the area

oo yeah i live down south so that might play a factor

Yes, your location is definitely a factor when you're using your own singular experiences with people within your proximity to prove that all people in the world are just like the unimaginably small sample size you have to work with.

The administration at my school is joining the hype and making a pointed effort to be accepting and aware and all that. The student councillors at my orientation sessions had to identify their preferred pronoun while introducing themselves.

God, it really is the end of times. Taking literally two seconds to share your preferred pronoun.

just like Troll = someone who civilly disagrees with me

I've met some IRL.

One who didn't believe non-whites could be racist and one I couldn't even work out what she believed but she was just ranting about how somehow we were all to blame for colonialism.

I think it's more common in University towns.

So the word hipster evolved into SJW? Neat, I was getting tired of describing everything as "hipster".

We know some in real life. A couple that are friends of ours. Nothing would make them happier than if their daughter grows up to be a lesbian.

Somehow I get the feeling that you've never actually heard them say that, and you're just attaching your silly SJW stereotypes to them.

There's a massive difference between voicing the fact that you'd be supportive no matter what, and "pressuring someone" to be gay. If you tell a little boy something like "you can love whoever you want", they're not going to go out and start sucking dick to make mommy and daddy happy.

They're in his head.

[–]Pretty_Obvious_7 6ポイント7ポイント  (0子コメント)

Exactly, most of these radical stereotypes in real life are people that never go outside or know how to socialize with human beings.

I once had to tell my nephew that if he did happen to like boys I would still love him, because his dad is a piece of shit. I didn't make it sound like it's be better if he liked boys, and I doubt you've ever heard anyone say anything like that irl.

Holy fuck is that a generalization. That's some sterotyping ass shit right there. "ALL people who care about social justice that have children will do this."? Seriously? That's narrow-minded as hell.

#NotAllSJWs

I get the joke, but precisely! Also, not all men is legitimate, just typically unrelated. Here, not all SJWs was entirely the conversation.

"ALL people who care about social justice

Sorry, what?

He said SJWs, these are the people who care about men sitting with their legs apart and a scientist's shirt having scantily clad animé women on it. These are not people that care about social justice, or indeed any sort of justice. These are people that promote hatred towards men, whites, cis-genders, straight people. How you can possibly equate "SJWs" to mean "all people that care about social justice" is beyond my wildest grasp.

Because its what SJW stands for?

SJW stands for social justice warrior, ie someone who is very vocal and over the top about social justice views, frequently over exaggerating problems and making ridiculous statements. These people tend to be very toxic and the SJW community comes up with new offenses seemingly weekly. Social justice fights for equality and recognition of all people and their struggles, social justice warriors are the kind of people who say all men are rapists.

Unfortunately I don't think that there is much of a distinction, at least here on reddit. If someone even mentions "transectionality, gender fluidity, institutionalized racism.....etc" they are usually lambasted as "SJW's" despite those concepts being prevalent topics in social justice communities.

They'll pressure little kids into feeling gay or trans.

The fuck they do. Complete horseshit.

Here's a good one. Fortunately one of her two kids has broken free from her shitty mom's mind games but the other is still being brainwashed.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lori-duron/what-happened-when-my-son-came-out-as-straight_b_3870006.html

Here's another fucking nut job who wants to ruin a child's life:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2964063/Gay-mom-says-gay-want-daughter-gay-too.html

I think you misinterpreted both of those. In the first, if you actually read it, it talks about she mistakenly presented her kids with to much open endedness, to the point her son felt like he needed to tell her who he is. In the second, the "fucking nutjob" pretty much said yeh it'd be cool if she was like me. Absolutely no where in either did anyone try to force a sexuality on a child. But I can tell you're a bit brainwashed your self, Can't even read a fuckin article. Only nut job is you, my friend.

Indeed. Some do. How does that represent a monolith? If I find two people on Reddit that a nercophilic pedophiles, are you cool with me ascribing those things to you and everyone else on this site? Wtf man.

So I am the proud mother of a 10-year-old, straight, cisgender son and a gender-nonconforming son who is 6 years old and has yet to declare his sexuality

what the fuck

A single case to support a sweeping generalisation. Well done.

When it comes to denial, redditors don't care how much evidence they're presented with.

Oh man, Huffpost? The Daily Mail? What great, reliable sources!

How the fuck does this have upvotes? This isn't really any different from "gays are trying to recruit our children!"

Just saying that this, reversed, is EXACTLY what SOCIETY REALLY DOES TO GAY KIDS and its fucking sucks.

I can't help but write a serious response to your comment, which seems like an attempt at comedy. But please, if you care to, explain how that situation is any worse than the literal millions of family's that force there children into straightness. I'd much rather a parent be open to their child's sexuality, even if overly encouraging, than to be like a lot of parents(mine included) that won't even entertain the idea that their child might be gay or even mildly curious about the same sex. I'd take sjw mom over bible thumpin' westboro babtist-esque mom any day.

force children into straightness.

Treating your children as heterosexual until proven otherwise is just common fucking sense. Progressives forcing their wishful thinking onto the daily lives of innocent children is disgusting.

That's like the lesbian couple on the news a couple months ago that was giving their 6 year old son female hormone therapy because he said he wanted to be a girl. These are sick people. You can't have a rational argument with them.

A teenager doesn't choose who they are attracted to. A parent telling their kid that if they happen to be LGBT, they still have a welcoming and loving home is good parenting.

This strawmanning of 'SJWs' is delusional and far removed from reality at this point.

SJWs don't really ask. They'll pressure little kids into feeling gay or trans.

This whole "lefties're turnin' our kids gay!" canard is such a worn-out reactionary talking point. I can't believe it's still bandied about in 2015 (on an ostensibly progressive website, nonetheless). You may as well be talking about the "homosexual agenda."

I honestly think you either need to stop reading the internet or hang around better people. I have never in 34 years encountered these people that redditors LOVE to talk about. And if I did, it would be for but a minute as I turn around and leave. I swear, most of you make this shit up in your head to justify your beliefs.

OH NO NOT LE EVIL SJWs!!!

Really? Because I've heard many very conservative parents asking their kids in a mostly joking manner if they like boys or girls. The difference is the "SJW" as you'd call them, wouldn't berate and abuse their children if they said they like the same sex.

Seriously? I see kids get asked when they are going to start liking boys/girls all the time, how is asking if they like boys or girls any different?

Pretty common dude. do you even kid, bro?

Well people like to ask little kids whether they like the opposite sex just to troll them into being funny in their vocal insistence that they do not. What's so bad about making the question/joke a little more modern?

This is Eli(ana), daughter of Jorge Narvaez.

You may remember him from his "Be My Baby" he sung with his older daughter Alexa, which went viral a couple of years ago.

What's so terrible about it? Pretty healthy to introduce the concept that you can like both girls and boys at an early age.

What should they have asked instead?

[–]Geekos 2

I love that she is so confused by the fact that she like birds.

ITT: weird outrage over this kid being asked a relatively innocuous question that somehow leads to dicussions about parenting and - of all things - racism and cultural marxism. What the fuck, Reddit?

I think it's safe to say we can remove it's sexual organs and replace them with a coaxial jack. It's a good thing we discovered this early, before it went through years of pretending to be something it's not.

This post is so old. (How old is it?) This girls already grown up and watched everything worth seeing on Netflix! (Hahaha!)

So does calling watching television "Netflix" make people feel less bad about sitting in front of the TV all day? Seemed not long ago we were shaming people for watching so much television.

Perhaps the argument is that you are at least selecting the shows you watch and not simply sitting down for whatever "programming".

Pretty weak, but yeah.
