I started reading those texts to see how silly it was to try and charge someone for someones suicide... Than as they went on and on you start seeing that this was not something innocent but this psychos sick fantasy to get him to die. I was only able to read up to where he didn't do it and she had to try extra hard to re-talk him into it. This is real sick.

The big talk is this girl suffers from Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy. Made herself the center of attention and grief after he killed himself. Started up a "organization" to help collect $$$ and to try to keep things like this happening, all while she helped push him over the edge. She deserves more than involuntary manslaughter, but as long as she is convicted, at least some justice can still come for this troubled boy who trusted a conniving girl.

I read the whole thing I believe last night. I can't believe that someone would tell a depressed person that their family has accepted it, and that they love him yet want him dead. I can't believe she could consiously coach someone through it, and then turn around and play the victim. Truly sick. If she doesn't get put in jail, she at least needs to go to a mental hospital because she is a danger to society.

Edit: spelling.

I assumed the same thing before I read the transcript. I thought it would be another one of those grossly misjudged court cases, but after you read the entire transcript, it gives you a whole new sickening perspective.

Reading those text made me feel sick to my stomach. This is coming from somebody who has seen EVERYTHING on liveleak.....

Imagine being that girls parents and thinking she's innocent. Then reading those messages

[–]Mantis_Toboggan_MD_ 15ポイント16ポイント  (2子コメント)

They still believe she's innocent. They keep coming out saying it's the "media" who is portraying her as a monster. She is just a sweet, innocent, girl. Same thing every naive, shitty parent says when they have a monster on their hands.

every naive, shitty parent says

Don't pretend its easy to condemn your own child.

Imagine being the guys parents and thinking that their son had a girlfriend who really loved him and tried to help him, then reading those messages.

Should be pre meditated murder

If you know someone is considering suicide and you do nothing you should feel bad but you are ultimately not responsible. This is NOT THAT CASE! This girl made every effort to ensure he did commit suicide. She definitely needs to stand trial for this. I'll leave the decision of guilt or innocence to the judge and jury.

What the fuck

I couldn't even finish reading all of those text messages.. How fucking infuriating..

Just reading the title made me sick. Not creeped out, just... that's really depressing.

Girlfriends should want to have you around.

The more of the transcript I read, the more apparent it gets that she actually wanted him dead. Like someone who wants to replace the pair of shoes they got for Christmas, but doesn't want to own up to it so they secretly toss them out in a dumpster.

'are you gonna do it then?'

ug

The most fucked up part is her trying to convince him his parents would be able to move on easily without him. How screwed up in the head you have to be to attempt something like this is unimaginable.

Wtf she may as well of murdered him..she really pushed him into it by saying his family would be fine without him and he just has to do it..can't believe what I just read!

Wow. Total psychopath.

This is voluntary manslaughter plain and simple. After he changed his mind THEN her talking him back into it made it that way. She used his depression and love that he had for her and turned it against him. She might as well stabbed him to death. At least he would've known the truth.

I think the most disturbing text is when she says "A promise is a promise."

This almost qualifies for first degree murder if you consider the phone texts to be a weapon.

But that's the big question: can you consider phone texts to be a weapon.

Oh my god oh my god this is so fucked up

What I love is that people claim so frequently that those with Mental Illnesses are incapable of using proper judgement or thought, and now in the comments people are claiming that this boy made his bed and has to lay in it.

This is like when an adult preys on a child, but in a different sense. When it's an adult and child, the deception and manipulation is so easily committed because of the child's naivety and lack of life experience. In this scenario, she preyed on his insecurities, his feelings of worthlessness, his relationship to her, and at a moment when he lacked mental clarity.

How would we be charging men and women who encourage children to jump off a bridge? When someone is confused, hopeless, and unable to make their own decisions (as is the frequent case with people who are suffering an attack from their mental illness), guiding them to commit injury to themselves is completely horrible, and should result in the perpetrator of the guidance to be condemned.

'Get back in the car'... Who in their right mind would say this to someone who clearly cannot make decisions in their best interest? There was a case on the news years ago about a man (named William Francis Melchart-Dinkel) who went onto chat rooms disguised as a woman and encouraged youths to kill themselves. He said they would kill themselves together on camera, and he would watch the teens do it through his camera to get some sick pleasure from it. This girl is receiving sick pleasure in the form of secondary gains from his death. She has people swarming her with donations to a mental health charity, people looked up to her for comforting his family, people gave her sympathy for losing someone she loved... She got attention at the expense of someone else's life. Absolutely horrific.

And before people get on my case about my comparison to children and the mentally ill, I am not saying people with mental illnesses cannot function as adults, more that their decisions aren't always theirs to control when they are manic, catatonic, depressed, or having an anxiety attack (Which is why people can plead insanity in court). I, myself have major depressive disorder, and have lost a friend to suicide, as well as having numerous other loved ones with mental health issues. I'm angry that someone would take advantage of a hopeless person at their weakest moment.

I agree with what you are saying here. And I feel angry. She is guilty by my moral standard. However, I feel like it is a tricky legal case. How would that translate in a law for example.

I'm hoping they can pin this on malice. If this was a premeditated response, or a response given maliciously enough to sway people to believe that she wanted this guy dead, I hope they can figure out a way to get it to be a legal conviction. Maybe enough public outcry will open peoples' minds. I was speechless when I first heard about this girl. I'm just glad people have a name and face, so she can't run from her actions completely.

Okay. In that case I strongly believe that many parents (including the boy's parents possibly) must be charged the same or similar for negligence of children depression and any sort of criticism they give their depressed child for it produce a similar results of kids killing themselves. How do you draw a line?

Imagine the scenario. I walk across the road and walk in from of the car. No suicide intended. Just very little fucks are given about my own life. The dude hits the break and yells at me "if you wanna kill yourself -jump from the bridge!" I've been contemplating suicide for years at that point. I walk 3more blocks and jump of the bridge. Is he guilty? Should he be charged? No. Will someone try to blame him instead of my upbringing that made me depressed, my choice not to seek professional help, my choice to jump off the bridge? I'd imagine it's possible if this girl goes to prison.

Her face is creepy also

This is why she will be hung in the court of public opinion. If she were pretty, it would be different

Sounds pretty voluntary

She might be one of the scariest killers I've seen. Unbelievably evil.

Ugh. I don't know how to feel about this. She's a monster and a sociopath, and there should be some sort of correctional therapy for her, but no matter how much I hate her after reading that whole transcript, no one actually forced the guy to kill himself. She definitely encouraged it, and you might even say coerced him, but he's the individual who ultimately made the decision of his own volition. He was screwed up before he met his screwed up girlfriend and I'm worried about the slippery slope this charge could introducing. Definitely a gray area.

Thank you. It is terrifying to read the Reddit response to this. Every other person is okay with capital punishment for her. By this logic every mother who tell her children that depression isn't real and keep on treating their illness with negligence should be charged with manslaughter to some degree. That isn't a solution. It is way too difficult of the case. Honestly, I feel like the girl needs some mandatory therapy, rather than few years in prison. Because then she is out, and the issue still stands.

So murderers should just hand their victims a gun and make them kill themselves to avoid being convicted?

[–]coked_out_orangutan 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

She's a monster and a sociopath, and there should be some sort of correctional therapy for her

There is no therapy for sociopathy . It is technically a personality disorder (antisocial personality disorder.) These cannot be fixed. Her personality, literally the thing that makes her who she is, is broken. If not controlled by the state, she will spend the rest of her life hurting people. They got lucky catching her this time because she doesn't have a lot of experience, but she will learn to be more careful in the future.

I believe the scientific term for this is : CUNT.

You can read more on the science of that diagnosis here.

In response to the sociopaths, depression is not a light switch. She was in a unique position in his life to either help him when he was down, or manipulate him the way that she did. Plus isn't that the idea behind human society? We aren't wild beasts living off the land anymore, we have the means and the knowledge to help people when they need it.

This just made me sick to my stomach... Reading those text messages... WTF

The saddest part about this is that he died believing his parents wouldnt be devastated by his suicide. That girl cant feel any emotions..

Ive never read the word "like" that much.

I think this is more /r/rage than /r/creepy.

Also, apparently before her trial, she's been enjoying school trips, prom, and a trip to disneyland. All posted to her social media accounts by her mother. The remorse is evident in her... /s

This bitch is EVVVVVIIIILLLLLL. With a capital k.

Read further, the morning he killed himself she texted his mother and sister if they know where he is. Later she wrote a friend how sad she is, and that she blames herself for his suicide.

Just a manipulative bitch searching for tragedy and attention. Is a girl of 18 years considered mentally developed enough to attest her munchhausen syndrome?

This is absolutely sickening to read. I feel so sad for the parents of both of these kids. His parents have lost their son forever, and her parents will likely see their daughter in prison for who knows how long. This girl is sick and probably needs some seroius help too. It almost seems like she was planning to seek attention from his death all along, and so she urged him to go through with it. He was obviously considering it already, but he was still conscious of the impact it would have on his family. This leads me to believe that he could have been helped if he talked to the right person and sought treatment. Unfortunately, the person he chose to share this with encouraged his negative feelings rather than urging him to get help and making sure he knew that suicide was not the answer. Although it was his choice to go through with it, he was clearly looking for help from someone who claimed to love and care about him. Obviously he didn't find it. It's very sad.

Not that this justifies it at all but no one knows what the boy could have been going through.

Heck she should register for a sex change, that gets you dropped a whole grade of your crime.

I'm surprised she wasn't tossed off a cliff by an angry mob. Would have saved everyone some trouble.
