tldr:

a wire gets crossed in you interpreting exactly what it is you want to protect a cute thing from, from what you want to do to it. It's a form of intrusive thoughts, and frustration from being unable to cuddle it. If you actually had those things in your hands, you wouldn't hurt them at all. As well in some people, seeing super cute things enduces a rush of cortisol and dopamine, which makes you actively want to do whatever it takes to love that thing. Sometimes that rush is overwhelming and makes you feel stressed.

the remedy: get yourself some IRL cute shit to fawn over.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. That puppy is a bit too young to be able to just walk away or defend itself, meanwhile that baby is definitely old/strong enough to cause a good amount of damage.

I'm usually fine with cute animal + baby videos, but this one had me pretty worried for the dog.

Couple of things: this was recorded, so the baby is not alone with the puppy, in fact, the baby looks like it is in a seat elevated off the floor, so they probably just put the puppy there and let him hold it for a minute, maybe less.

Also, that baby is just not strong enough to throw or really hurt the puppy, he could barely get a hold of it. He's a chubby baby but quite small. By the time he is strong enough to be able to really grab it and hurt it, the puppy will be much bigger and probably capable of getting away. Plus I doubt they'd let their baby play unsupervised with a dog, few parents do.

To be the party pooper: please don't give smaller animals to babies and toddlers, they have problems containing their strength, so a little "hug" from a baby can lead to serious injuries for the animals.
