I'm back to reading the 1632/Ring of Fire series! Finally got around to picking up 1633 from the library.

Anybody who's read this series, I notice my library has short story collections and so on that go along with the series--are they worth reading? Or should I stick with the main books? And is this series like Dune, where I really should just stop reading at a certain point in the series before it starts getting crazy/bad?

I recommend you stick to the first three main books of the series before you read the Grantville Gazettes. Here's the recommended reading order by Eric Flint. http://www.ericflint.net/index.php/1632-series-reading-order/

Rudolf Rocker's Nationalism and Culture. Apparently Einstein had said that everybody should read it, I totally agree.

Started reading 'Dowding and the Battle of Britain' by Robert Wright. I love the history of the BoB and I was pretty shocked when I heard that Dowding got shafted after the battle for not falling in line with some of the big players at the air ministry and the RAF, so I'm hoping to get a better understanding of what happened.

Reading Timeline by Michael Crichton, so far I'm loving the amount of detail that he's giving about the 14th century in France and quantum computing. Has anybody else here read the book?
