Even in politics, going after someone's job, livelihood, or family is considered supremely scumbaggy. There are a million different ways you could have handled that situation.
If you worked in that office, is that how you would have handled it? You wouldn't have talked to them first about why their attitude was wrong? Offered them a different perspective?
What you did is not whistleblowing. Adhering to basic standards of decency is not any form of racism apologia. You had an opportunity to show someone the error of their ways and you completely blew it. If that person ends up keeping their job, they will never listen to what progressives have to say ever again, and we have you to thank for that.
Just because you find someone you think is an asshole, you don't have to go nuclear on them. I repeat: even in politics this is considered low.
