Male here. Not a "TRPer" or whatever you guys call them. Lately I've been fascinated by the discussions going on in this thread, TPR, and TPP. I don't really understand what exactly what sparked this huge debate. Kind of seems pretty lame. But it did get me thinking

One thing a lot of TRPers seem to talk about is the concept of women hitting a "wall" and settling for someone who she thinks is more "beta." According to TRP philosophy, a women will have sex with "alpha" males in their younger years, not giving "beta" males a chance. But once they reach this "wall," they decide to give the beta a chance and settle down.

I feel like this philosophy does more harm than it does good because it portrays women as damaged goods once they are ready to settle. People aren't chattel. It seems perfectly logical for women to settle down with someone who they consider calm and easygoing, as they would want stability

There also seems to be a flipside to this. Some role switching. "Alpha" males who, once pass their prime, settle down with someone who they consider are less attractive, and more easy going. But they most likely wouldn't have given that person a chance when they were in their prime. What do you guys think of this?

  • No man or woman fits into the pseudoscientific dichotomy of "alpha" and "beta"

  • TRP men are convinced that they are betas who want to become alphas, so whatever they were is considered "beta" and whatever they want to be is considered "alpha."

  • There might be some women who are attracted to what TRP describes as alpha, but I'm not and I don't know anyone who is. Some of those women learn those guys are bad news after they experience it. It's TRPer's wishful thinking that older women avoid "alphas" because they're "past the wall."

yes, its called "growing up and becoming an adult".

There are lots of things we do when we are young and stupid: drugs, drinking to excess, indulging in bankrupt philosophies, writing bad poetry.....and dating people that aren't good for you but perhaps a lot of fun.

Interesting. I definitely agree by the way. I want to press the matter further, though,

Lets say your were considered a "beta" female (meek, timid, not that attractive by societal standards), and you pinned after the "alpha" male in your younger days, but were consistently denied. Let us then say that many years later, this male comes to you (he considers himself past his prime), and he decides to give you a chance. What would your response be?

There's no such thing as betas and alphas. There's attractive people and ugly people. Those two sometimes marry each other. Sometimes attractive people marry other attractive people. Sometimes ugly people marry ugly people. There's no magic formula that every single person follows.

I think, perhaps, they get the idea of Betas from the fact that young people are more likely to put up with shitty personalities in exchange for looks. As you get older, you realize you want someone you enjoy being around, regardless of their looks. I believe both sexes do this.

YA basically trp makes relationships impossible except with virgins- if she had a bf or two and then got married, it does not mean the guy is a beta bux.. For fucks sakes, isn't marrying a guy and bearing his children more "submissive" than a random blow job?
