Male here. Not a "TRPer" or whatever you guys call them. Lately I've been fascinated by the discussions going on in this thread, TPR, and TPP. I don't really understand what exactly what sparked this huge debate. Kind of seems pretty lame. But it did get me thinking

One thing a lot of TRPers seem to talk about is the concept of women hitting a "wall" and settling for someone who she thinks is more "beta." According to TRP philosophy, a women will have sex with "alpha" males in their younger years, not giving "beta" males a chance. But once they reach this "wall," they decide to give the beta a chance and settle down.

I feel like this philosophy does more harm than it does good because it portrays women as damaged goods once they are ready to settle. People aren't chattel. It seems perfectly logical for women to settle down with someone who they consider calm and easygoing, as they would want stability

There also seems to be a flipside to this. Some role switching. "Alpha" males who, once pass their prime, settle down with someone who they consider are less attractive, and more easy going. But they most likely wouldn't have given that person a chance when they were in their prime. What do you guys think of this?
