He makes a great comment about being bouyant, and how there's a bandwidth they live on. He's referring to rom-coms, but it equally applies to women. One of the keys to seduction is to always keep it light-hearted and fun, because that's the vibe that draws women into escaping into an alternate world of pleasure and emotional arousal... The playful Natural is irresistable to women, and he definitely fills that bill.

I made that decision when I was 16 not to take women seriously and have fun with them. This community is awesome, it gives me an avenue to express myself and make me feel like I'm not alone. We need more positive messages here like having fun and enjoying our time with women.

You hit it right on the head. Thanks. I've always considered myself a "deep" person and what I say always have some significant content to it, not just empty fluff. I have had a hard time making small talk in the same effectiveness as others. This comment kinda brought me to an "aha" moment. Where I have to tone down the bandwidth, as that is where girls would like to live.

Light can be a good starting point, but depth, intensity and range are valuable. Most guys come across too steady and too serious.

Consistency kills seduction. If you're conventional and predictable, she dries up. It makes you look timid, as if too afraid to stand out. Mystery-level peacocking is well over the top, but there is reward in demonstrating confidence.

I quite like the Mindy Project for the way she lampoons female leads in Romcoms. She makes buoyant seem ludicrous and that's where she gets the laughs.

Maybe that's why it got canned. It didn't fit into the Hollywood feminist agenda.

Anyone who plays bongos naked and high is all right with me.

alright with me

I see what you did there, sir.

Also goddamn, anytime someone says Matthew McConaughey's name, it takes a least a week for me to stop saying "alright alright alright" compulsively.

Theatre is a surprisingly efficacious means of studying human nature. Suspension of Disbelief is a principle I think many people overlook--to their detriment. There's shit you can do on the stage that can make people laugh until they cry or get up and leave depending on how it's executed.

Anyone seen Don Jon? There's a scene where the main character compares romcoms to pornography. People don't watch those things for the plot.

Actually just watched Don Jon. The comment his sister makes at the end made just the most incredible sense. Wasn't profound or difficult to understand.

Spoilers

She said "All I am saying is THAT girl, she has an agenda. She didn't know the first thing about him. She just wants a guy who is going to do whatever she tells him to. It is a good thing that she broke up with you."

This is a comment that in my head I would NEVER expect a guy to say to me about a girl I could've just finished with. In my case, my ex just walked out on me. On reflection I think the only time she showed any interest in me was to see if she could improve me or whether she accepted how I spent my time was acceptable. There wasn't a genuine interest in me, only what I could be moulded into.

Life changing. Wish I knew this at 18.

Loved this film for that reason. The agenda is a real thing, there are so many people in relationships and the woman owns the man, he is the idea of what she wanted and has removed him from being the person he was. It is so sad, but it is how it is and people need to realise this before they make life long commitments.

Yeah! I think for some reason when a woman admits it as if it should be common knowledge like she does in the film it is more powerful than when a guy does it because he is bitter.

This guy, he knows things. What I love is his attitude. He's buoyant, light-hearted, almost whimsical but still with balls and straightforwardness.

All too often I see RedPillers take seriously and react to things that they really shouldn't. MM knows how to keep it real without sounding like a buzzkill or a paranoiac.

For fucking real. The amount this sub obsesses over being the alpha in every single situation is ridiculous.

It is try hard, and very obvious most of the time. External mastery comes after internal mastery.

Amused mastery, mastered. Think as you think, do as others do. This dude is playing the game to a T.

I've always liked this guy. Lots of times with big Timt actors, their personality seeps over into the character they're portraying. Good looks will get you far, but I truly believe charisma and charm can get you just about any damn thing on the planet.

I barely even knew who he is before the first season of True Detective. Honestly the best work he ever did.

Didn't know who he was before TD, but are comfortable saying that is his best work?

Does not compute

he has a very alluring voice. ive always thought it was his best attribute.

Good post.

He's had a hell of a career/life:

  • Grows up in what seems like an RP family
  • Starts out doing dramatic roles to build his craft
  • Plays the Hollywood game for years by starring in a plethora of rom-coms to 1) make sure checks clear the bank and 2) establish himself as a leading man
  • Slowly breaks back into dramatic roles in indie films, wins an Oscar through pure dedication to his craft, and re-establishes himself as a leading man who can pick and choose any film he wants
  • Marries a hot Brazilian chick who raises their 3 kids

It's pretty cool how accepting of RP views the masses are when it's coming from a celeb

It's all about delivery. People are receptive to ideas when they are presented in a fun way. Alternatively, nobody wants to be preached at.

A few years back I met up with him after running a course (biking). He was extremely RP, we were talking about relationships and he was a super chill guy. I liked him best as Rust. He gave me advice about my relationship with a gymnast, I did what he said and he was right. If the only thing I can say about him is that he is awake, it would be a travesty, he is a great human being.

Is Greatest Salesman in the World on the TRP reading list? Just found the 10 scrolls in PDF form. Anyone here read it? Thoughts on it?

Would greatly appreciate it if you can share your source, never heard of the " Greatest Salesman ". Is it good? What's it about?

At first glance it seems like a solid introduction not just to maintaining frame, but to improve your current one by reframing your brain day-by-day, month by month.

The last scroll might be too spiritual for some, though (God's involved).

A buddy of mine read it and he highly recommends it.

Lesson learned: Life is much easier when you are very good looking and have a cool accent

Considering that the guy used to look like this at a low-point in his life, I'd say that he had to put in a lot of work to be where he is today.

bad lightning and no make up. take the same guy, a good photographer and a good make up artist and he looks like the sexiest man alive.

"Although this may be true he explains that he works out everyday and takes care of himself. This coupled with high self esteem is what leads to becoming that guy - not just his fucking looks."

Unfortunately you can't work out your face and if it looks like a donkey's ass there's only so much you can achieve with a good body.

Story time. I got suspended from college for 2 months after channelling McConaughey as Rust Cohle from True Detective.

Here's how it all happened:

lying in bed meditating upon the crucifixion of Jesus Christ

ma' walks in and tells me to stop sleeping, I'm late for school

patiently remind her that I don't sleep, I just dream

she abruptly opens the curtains and walks out

light up a cigarette and walk slowly to my R.E. lesson

slide into my seat at the back of the class

they are discussing the afterlife

I loudly announce that they're all racing to a red light

teacher asks if I can understand how the belief in an afterlife is a solace to some people

I tell him that fairytales aren't good for anybody

he asks why I begrudge people the right to their own personal beliefs

"they gotta get together and tell each other stories that violate every law of the universe just to get through the goddamned day?"

"what's that say about their reality?" I ask

"you haven't answered the question, IndyBrodaSolo"

"then start asking the right fucking questions"

tired of his low IQ, I take a beer out of my bag and crack it open

"what are you doing!" he demands

"it's Thursday and it's past noon. On Thursdays I start drinking at noon. You don't get to interrupt that"

he tries to confiscate my beer but I capture him in an arm lock

he becomes vexed and slaps me around the back of my head

I look him straight in the eye and tell him that prison is very very hard on people who hurt kids

"if you get the opportunity, you should kill yourself"

silently walk out of class

[–]_eskimo_brothers_ 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

I realize this is all just a false story using Rust's lines and outlook, but I chuckled.

"If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then brother that person is a piece of shit; and I'd like to get as many of them out in the open as possible."

MM is easily one of my favorite actors, he's played the hollywood game like a zen master. You can see how he works hard but enjoys life? We'd all be a lot cooler if we did the same, man.

From what I heard on Louder with Crowder while talking to Dean Kain is that Matthew Mcconaughey is actually a pretty small stature guy. I would probably agree it's not just his looks.

MM was in my step dad's fraternity back in the day. Apparently he was a really cool guy and even had a cat named bong-hit.

I grew up in the same town this guy did. There's a surprising amount of RP truth floating around the consciousness there.... also a bunch of rednecks.
