I would say we have successfully landed at Normandy, and begun moving into France proper enroute to liberate Paris.

This seems much more accurate.

"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But perhaps; it is the end of the beginning"

Good analogy. I liken it more to the final march on Berlin. :)

Now we just need the Russians. Metalgate maybe?

[–]kevlarkent [score hidden]  (0 children)

i dont think the diehard metalfans care enough about that, SJW doesnt have enough influence there eighter since the musicans doesnt want to be mainstream anyway, unlike the owners of AAA companies or indie developers

yes, i feel more like that aswell, the setting of the spjairplay was like when murica entered the war and when the debate took place was like the landing in normandy

But anti-GG said we're nazis so we're actually in Poland and on the way to Moscow.

A better analogy is we are standing on Okinowa looking at Japan and weighing our final options to end this on our terms. The enemy is going to lose. It's just a matter of how slow and painful it will be for all. Bloody fight? Let them starve? Or nuke em? It's over, but there is too much pride to admit it.

The war isn't over until mainstream media admits they got it wrong.

[–]kevlarkent [score hidden]  (3 children)

i think we have another year atleast until that could happen

[–]DeeDoubsFounder of Kek's Giving Day [score hidden]  (1 child)

Maybe so. Could be a lot longer. But that's the real win condition, accept nothing less.

[–]Breakdawall [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe longer then a year.

I understand what yall mean. Even folks on 8ch said was successful in waking up many people to ideological bias and the dangers of PC.

BUT.

The stretch goals are still of considerable concern. If they have be done as GG or by just gamers who dont buy the bs, the saga must continue.

That is to quell the narrative through online media, and protect the future indie devs and artists hurt by these ideological blocks.

Some good indies cant get press. They need more first impressions and charismatic livestreamers to bypass the press block, and draw attention.

The cabals and 'diversity' interests in tech and game development still have their claws in. Much like the hugos and the comics sphere.

And new voices online could do a lot to smash the false narrative about gaming and gender for the new and gullible.

Thats attrition. Some just gotta stay in for the long haul. There are some which will never get no holds barred entertainment that appeals to different people and subcultures and will do everything in their power through money, news, association, propaganda, group co-opting, lobbying to subvert, neuter, commoditize, undefine or crush it for their own interests. Music and film genres have fallen victim. Gaming rides on.

Gamers want to win. Its bred into us. We are conditioned to take long, tortuous grinds to get that prized peice of loot.

Its not that we want to win. We train ourselves to simply not quit. We take hundreds of brutal losses and call it fun. We strategize for hours just for the concept of a plan working and if it doesnt, we start over. We practice religiously to perfect tactics just for the fractions of percentages that it increases the chance to win.

We dont just want to win, but we are also experts at knowing how to gain from losing.

I keep saying this, but few seem to grasp it. Gamergate really won the war, or rather it's victory became inevitable back in November. That's when GG continued to strengthen through a full financial quarter, and that's when we began to levy a financial toll on a broad swath of the industry equal to or greater than the professional outrage pimps. We assessed a cost for bowing and scrapping to every social justice nut bag with a petty personal trigger, that comes knocking on the companies that we do business with and those that view us as a key advertising demo. (Hint we are not "a" advertising demo. We are THE advertising demo. The one they want. The one the money follows.)

Those that oppose U.S. Can scream bitch cry or rant. They can label us and call us every name in the book. But at the end of the day every dollar that feeds them comes from or in some way flows through us. Economics and enlightened self interest can be powerful forces for change. Of course enlightened self interest requires a certain degree of self awareness that the gaming press has long lacked.

We've won a lot of battles, but we haven't won the war yet.

If we can keep up this momentum I've sure we'll continue making a difference, but as long as there's corruption and unethical practices in gaming journalism and the greater games industry we'll still have battles to fight.

I think this Churchill quote is appropriate, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning".

[–]JustABaku [score hidden]  (0 children)

We can't really ever truly win this one because this stupid mentality is cyclical. The mentality that breed these retards was there before gaming, hell, it was there before feminism. The ancient greek had their own hysteria about the corruption of youth by philosophy. I'm sure even cavemen had their freakout with fire and writing.

Now, what we are seeing is a mop up. No one really beleives the narrative the SJWs wove anymore.

MSM would disagree with you and they, whether we like it or not, control the masses.
