Yeah, the common symptoms of heart attacks in women are really stupid things like jaw pain and back pain and shoulder pain, basically pain everywhere except for the chest.

The symptoms are so stupid that some women won't even know they ever had a heart attack until several months later when they see a doctor for something unrelated.

What the hell I'm surprised I've never even heard of this! So if a woman is having a fatal heart attack, she would not know unless she were looking specifically for jaw/back/shoulder pain?

Well, and the death.

It's called referred pain, and the problem is back pain is pretty common in the at risk demographic, so it's a horrible indicator. Imagine, by analogy, if everytime you had lower abdominal pain you now had to get a cardiac work up

They do also get chest pain (apparently it might feel more like tightness) and shortness of breath but we do also get weird symptoms too like leg pain and jaw pain.

My mom had two heart attacks without knowing it.

She went to the doctor for neck pain...
