He's not rich enough to be having those cars if he can't afford to have books somewhere other than his garage.

To be fair, there was a mystery Koenigsegg in a public garage in downtown Zurich a few years ago, collecting dust over several months. This being Zurich, nobody wrote "WASH ME" on it, but several of the local papers wondered who the owner was.

Turns out it was some kid who'd made a metric asston of cash selling an Internet startup and bought the car of his dreams, but was still couch-surfing with friends because he just couldn't be bothered to sort out a place with a garage, he was having too much fun enjoying his newfound wealthy unemployment with his buddies.

The guy wrote a very friendly, polite letter to a bunch of newspapers, explaining the situation and that he'd get his act together and buy a house, and asked people to please continue not writing "WASH ME" on the car.

In this youtube character's situation, though, I can't shake the feeling that it's just douchebag posing.

See? That's why I don't have a job. I'm just waiting for this to happen to me. Seriously, I'm sure it'll happen any day now. I'm really good at those startups and stuff.
I can't wait until my mom isn't bitching about me living in her basement because I have a dusty bugatti outside that I'm so busy with my friends I don't even have time to use. My mom's so stupid. /s

Turns out it was some kid who'd made a metric asston of cash

Well then I assume he would have bought an Asston Martin

In another of his videos you can see a rental tag on the keys. H3h3productions has a great video about this: https://youtu.be/FNIY0wwQdWI

I just wish they realized its not automatic, it's a paddle shift. Most high end sports cars ditched stick shifts a decade ago.

Yeah lol, besides that it's a pretty solid video. I don't think you can buy a manual lambo anymore.

next thing your gonna say is he probably rented all those books from a place that rents books.

[–]Fap_Left_Surf_Right 7ポイント8ポイント  (1子コメント)

Could have been fun but some of the observations he squeals about were just wrong. It's not a storage unit because it has an interior door. Storage units are a door and a space, you don't want extra interior doors where other people can access your stuff. He called it a Ferrari by mistake a few times. Finally, most high end sports cars aren't manual anymore because a stick is much slower to shift than automatic or paddles. His closing bit was ranting about not having a stick shift and the fuckin cars don't even come with stick shifts anymore.

If you're going to post a video mocking something, at least have someone check your work first. Jesus Christ.

Honestly, if he's living in the Bay area in a highly desirable area, owning the space in which to put those books is gonna be about as expensive as those cars.

The Hollywood Hills are nowhere near the Bay Area.

360.65 miles/580.42 km driving distance to be exact

Well, I'm sure he'd enjoy driving to his books. Those cars are fun to drive up here in the Hollywood Hills.

He got seven new Hollywood hills installed to hold 2000 new lamborghinis.

It's a storage garage. One that you rent by the month, He also just rented the car for a day or two..

who is that?

A scammer that runs Youtube commercials and says "Look at what I have, fall for my shit and give me your money"

I've never watched more than ten seconds of this ad. I always thought it was satirical. This guy is real?

That's how these things work. If you're stupid enough to sit though an excruciating five minute ad to click on his link at the end then you're very likely to buy into his shit. He's filtering out viewers for a few good marks.

See power4patriots.com for more.

[–]IAMA_dragon-AMAmildly infuriat 79

Similarly, that's one reason why Nigerian Prince scams and stuff like that are usually poorly-written. They look like blatant scams so the only people who reply are all but guaranteed to be dumb enough to fall for it.

I sometimes sit through his entire ad just to make sure he has to pay for it. I can't stand this guy.

Ah the minor victories, where I'm the only one who knows I won. They help me get through the day.

Oh sorry Andy the jerk, I haven't seen the car keys I have purposefully covered up by this folder. It's gonna take you an extra 3 minutes to find them. I win.

His stuff isn't even on pirate bay cuz it's worthless

Damn, that's some real shit

He also writes (or hires people to write) fake articles talking about him.

I think it's some Youtube commercial. I don't know either. #adblocklife

Is there some sort of filter for adblock plus that I am missing? I still see all these ads.

Switch to Ublock origin.

[–]psychedelic_tortilla 50ポイント51ポイント  (28子コメント)

Or don't and just add easylist to your ABP subscriptions. Haven't seen a single YouTube ad in years.

But ublock is faster.

But mostly, it doesn't make dirty deals with advertisers to bypass the filters. And doesn't try to sneak in spyware.

ABP is scummy.

Huh what now?

If the ads meet their standards for non-intrusive and they pay a fee to abp their website will be added to abp's whitelist (which you can disable)

Personally, I've never disabled the whitelist and haven't noticed anything that bothers me. On that note, the spyware thing is bullshit.

Have you unchecked the "Allow some non-intrusive advertisements" option?

That can't be it, there is no way that video ads are categorized as "non intrusive"

Add Easylist to adblock subscriptions: https://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/

Then click the adblock icon on your browser, go to preferences, and uncheck "Allow some non-intrusive advertisements"

Never see an ad again.

Tai Lopez. Apparently he's an "entrepreneur" Who's been on some ted talks. I use " cuz who knows if it's real.

TED talks or TEDx talks? Because the difference is the equivalent of the difference between competing in the Olympics or the Special Olympics...

More like competing in the olympics and competing in your school's sports day

like seriously. I saw one guy in a gif lift like 450lbs at the special olympics. Them guys can lift...can you /u/Damadawf ?

edit: sorry about the us standard measurement or whatever our stupid system is called, but in my defence the gif was titled in lbs proof

Umm, I think we're stepping into tricky territory if you're trying to veer the discussion towards asking whether I'd rather be able to lift 450lbs or to not have Down's Syndrome...

well now that you have gone and asked...what is the answer?

I was really just trying to say that at least people who compete in the Special Olympics are impressive. And i assume these TEDx talks arent

Since you asked, I would prefer the latter of the above two options.

well now you are a...oh shit what is the term those tumblr people use...ablist? ableist?...whatever bias towards the differently-abled is called

This is the burden that I must bear for being born with a normal number of chromosomes :(

Comparing TEDx and its host of legitimacy issues to the Special Olympics is doing the Special Olympics a disservice.

Like the other poster said, maybe more like school sports day.

For those who don't know the difference, watch this.

"or start your own." And therein lies the problem with TEDx talks, anyone can do it, including guys like Tai Lopez, and it gets some form of legitimacy because its TED-branded, and most people dont even know the difference.

Implying that TED presenters are either paid or biased? I find that hard to believe.

Some dude talks about how much money he's made and how he can teach you to make a bunch of money too.

I am not sure the nature of it but obviously it's some sort of scam because real rich people don't hold free seminars that they pay to advertise for or give their book away or whatever this bullshit artist says he's gonna do....I can't remember but it was something like that, I think.

Tai Lopez. Some guy who was poor and became rich with help of his "mentors" so he has to brag about how successful he is now pretty much. His video he made for the help thing is free but his "tips" he gives to be successful are pretty much common knowledge.

How did this fucker even make his money anyways?

See I realize that college is not for everyone but that "reasons not to go" is 70% bullshit.

Some of these are incredible: "Reason 8: If you're a conservative or libertarian, you'll avoid 4 years of indoctrination in the socialist viewpoint of most college professors. If you're one of the 99%, why expose yourself with the thinking of the 1% hoity-toity elite?"

I realize that it is trying to be "balanced" by having an equal amount of things for each side, but its like bringing on a anti-vaxxer to debate the importance of vaccines. Not all opinions are equal.

It's for a self help series. It's a 4 minute video just to say, "Hey, buy my self help thingy so that you can gain money and be rich too!" What the fuck....

I went to his website and there is a 2hr video of him talking and gives you tips on becoming successful. The whole 2hr video he stalls till the end. The end of the video he gives you advice and if you wanted more you'll have to buy his stuff. Because if he made it free people wouldn't be "motivated" so that's why he charges somethin something money.

It's the new approach that scummy internet marketing "gurus" use. They make a 2 hour long video filled with overinflated "value" and then throw the pitch in at the end. That turd over at startupbros does the same thing

You know I recently I started watching a lot of his videos. They're actually kinda funny. For example, check out his "How to read a book in 10 minutes" video, it's kinda hilarious. I don't even know if this guy is even serious, like nobody is retarded enough to do this shit. Right?

  3. ???
  4. use profit to buy exotic cars

Ok, by reading this thread I've finally found out what these ads are all about. I had never watched more than 30 or so seconds of these ads, so I just thought they were some sort of Google or other big company's "hey, look at how pompous this douchebag is" ads. Nope, that's really this guy and how he acts. I thought it was some hyperbolic exaggeration for a silly ad. Wow.
