      It's a tough situation because you have a group of people who are known to be violent that are blocking the road. Do you slow down and creep through their blockage like the person in the video, causing your car to be vandalized and you possibly shot by someone who is armed, or do you floor it like you said because you were afraid for your life?

      Floor it. It's easier to argue the "feared for your life" angle when you are making a strong attempt to flee. If you are going slow it can be argued you didn't actually have that fear because you are logically leaving yourself an easy target for retaliation.

      That's the angle the protesters' lawyers would try to take in court anyway.
