CorruptionFree speech subreddit /r/POLITIC has been requested and taken over by IRC clique #drama mods. reddit admin has not adhered to their own rules and allowed the subreddit to be stolen from the rightful owner. (self.Oppression)

/r/Politic is a free speech zone and was created for content that other subreddits censored. It was very important for fighting oppression. Its only rule was "Let the votes decide" !

Cancer !

The new moderators have a dubious reputation and are active on IRC and drama channels. I would mention who they associate with but I won't for fear of summoning some bad people to this subreddit. Of note is that one of the new moderators is also a mod of the /r/undeleteundelete . That was a bastion of free speech that magnora created and lost . So they have a track record of requesting free speech subreddits and destroying them.

Admin Corruption

The previous moderators was /r/PoliticBot (shadowbanned full perms) and /u/publicmodlogs (no permission - Not shadowbanned)

Reddit request rules were not respected:

Subreddits aren't considered "abandoned" if any mod has been active anywhere on reddit in the past 60 days. "Squatting" is allowed. Keep in mind that "activity" isn't limited to posting and commenting.

The redditrequest claimed /u/publicmodlogs was inactive. However, /u/publicmodlogs was active 1 month ago to accept the invitation to moderate /r/Brasilandia and there are probably more examples of recent activity if one were to go through its mod list

/u/publicmodlogs is an alt of /u/Mumberthrax and an associate of /u/go1dfish as they mod a load of subreddits together. In other words, it isn't a dumb 3rd party bot. It was in line to inherit the subreddit according to reddit rules.

Ultimately, this is /u/go1dfish 's fault for being careless and not protecting his subreddit. It was pretty obvious this kind of thing would happen. /u/publicmodlogs was also advised to request full permissions for /r/POLITIC by our consultants but for whatever reason failed to do so.

So another loss for reddits free-speech community and another victory for the oppressors.

I don't think /u/UncleSamuel will be an overbearing mod but the sub was set up as it was for a specific reason- to have a subreddit without active mods.

That's not a very good policy however- if people wanted it shut down all they have to do is post material that breaks the rules and notify admins that the mods aren't removing it.

/u/kaaalaaaaa said he wants to run it as it was intended to be run, so I shall continue to do so. Truth be told I enjoy the idea of politic. I'll see what else kaalaaaa has to say in regard to this matter, but if things are continueing forward as they were I'll readd a bunch of randos and whoever else asks in the name of transparency.

If you like I can modify the /r/modlog bot to power /r/POLITIC just like the old days (but more distributed) you just have to get people to run it.

Ultimately, this is /u/go1dfish 's fault for being careless and not protecting his subreddit.

PoliticBot was shadowbanned while I was reordering the mod list in order to instill greater protections by moving /u/publicmodlogs to the top of the mod list where only the admins can remove it. (as they just did)

Shadowbanned users can remove mods, but they can't add them.

Reddit doesn't care about transparency, they could have at least left /u/publicmodlogs at the top. It only served to guarantee transparency.
