100+ upvotes and AnCap related... Here seems fine.

I see you included the smartest thing Sanders ever said; nothing.

"Racialist science is properly not an act of aggression or a cover for oppression of one group over another, but, on the contrary, an operation in defense of private property against assaults by aggressors."

Remember that time Noam Chomsky defended the Khmer Rouge and he lost all credibility for everything else he ever said?

Wait...

[–]VovaPoutine -3ポイント-2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Noam Chomsky believed that the stories being told about the Khmer Rouge were false. Naive, but not on the same level as supporting child slavery.

"David Irving believed that the stories being told about the Nazis were false. Naïve, but not on the same level as Gandhi supporting the enslavement of the Zulus."

That one's interesting. I didn't know he said that.

"It cannot be denied that Fascism and similar movements aiming at the establishment of dictatorships are full of the best intentions and that their intervention has, for the moment, saved European civilization. The merit that Fascism has thereby won for itself will live on eternally in history.

But though its policy has brought salvation for the moment, it is not of the kind which could promise continued success. Fascism was an emergency makeshift. To view it as something more would be a fatal error." ~ Von Mises

Y'know Mises wrote an entire book about how bad Fascists but especially Nazis were, right? The quote itself is pretty irrelevant considering the fact that Fascism itself had a fairly good reputation in the late 1920s and not too many known atrocities. Even FDR had a pretty positive view of it at the time.

When you discredit an intelligent point on the basis that the speaker of the point also made bad points you are an idiot.

I will say that even though I disagree with much (if not all) of what Sanders supports, I think he is doing something great for self-identified liberals. Just the way Ron Paul opened many Republicans' minds (including my own) to think outside of standard two-party arguments and rhetoric, Bernie Sanders seems to be doing the same thing for liberals. It could be a start for people to think outside the box a little

I think with Sanders they're much more likely to go down the leftist route of radicalisation which is a cause for concern.

[–]VaginuhDon't tread on me! 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

I've never made that connection - very interesting. Granted, I'd almost rather that liberals stay glued to Democrats than that they become self-identifying socialists, but at least it adds clarity to discussions. Good call!

Wonder if that means we'll see a wave of new Ancoms come out of this election cycle.
