OK silly question but since you can only donate in bitcoin, how/where do I get bitcoin?

[–]Shibinator 4ポイント5ポイント  (2子コメント)

/r/Bitcoin

Read the sidebar.

Best way to get Bitcoin depends on your location, but in general in the US Coinbase and Circle are popular, or Localbitcoins if you'd rather trade cash then mess around with bank accounts.

No sidebar on mobile. Thanks for the info though

Hit the (i) info button at the top of the screen, it shows the sidebar. (Using "reddit is run" on Android)

I looked up Bitcoin ATMs in my area and paid cash for them. Easiest way I could find out how to buy them.

Coinbase will allow you to buy bitcoin with a bank account or credit card, and it will allow you to transfer it to NFL2Go by typing in the bitcoin address and hitting send.

I hope by "typing in the bitcoin address" you mean copying and pasting it, or scanning the QR code?

[–]hendrixski 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yes, copy/paste works.

Also it depends on the merchant. For some online stores bitcoin is a 1-click process and you never see the bitcoin address, or worry about conversion amounts, etc. etc. Just click a "buy" button, click "verify" in a coinbase popup window, and all done.

Yeah, that's what I meant, coinbase makes it pretty simple to transact in bitcoin, andyou can buy very small amounts (ie decimals) so getting $25 worth won't be a problem. Small transaction fee though.

There are many different ways to get bitcoin. Pick one that fits you best. One thing to note, bitcoin is digital cash and it's hard to convince anybody to give you cash for credit cards due to the risk of credit card fraud.

http://howtobuybitcoins.info/ has an overwhelming list of options. I recommend starting with coinbase or circle. They're pretty easy. Also you can buy bitcoins from your neighbors using services like localbitcoins or bitquick or paxful.

Or people can send you bitcoin over twitter or other social media. Like this: here's $1 /u/changetip

The Bitcoin tip for 3,597 bits ($1.00) has been collected by Jokerthewolf.

Others mentioned coinbase? I am not sure either though how it works. I'd like to have it installed on my roku before ponying up cash though.

Coinbase is legit. You'll have to verify your bank account, but ive been using them for years and have never had an issue. You just buy the amount of bitcoin you want (.09) and they deduct the current USD amount from your bank. There is a .0003 BTC fee for transactions though so its best to buy 0.10 bitcoin. You can send the bitcoin to nfl2go right from their website by just pasting the address nfl2go provides.

Circle is the best/most convenient and does not charge fees compared to coinbase. You can buy with a debit/gift/credit card.
